I moved from Birmingham to Maryland in 1997-2000. It was there at a Recording studio that I met Melba Moore and her smiles briefly. In passing, she was so kind and friendly, and that was an honor because I knew of her thru her music and loved her enough to sing her songs as I did Aretha Franklin, and so many of our true era of Soul, R&B, Gospel, Blues, Jazz music.
She is just as kind, classy and sweet as I remember. My music teacher in S.E. Washington, DC invited her to Davis Elementary School. We knew that she was a huge star in the 70's. Doe, Ray, Me, Fa, Solutions, La, Ti, Doe will always have a special place in my heart because of her. God Bless.

I first became introduced to this legendary lady by watching the film “Def by Temptation . Years later, I brought her 1985 album “Read my lips “ and feel in love with her voice and music.
