Very thorough comparison there, I've been playing P790 3 & 4, and P770 5-PW, AW and my consistency with the P770's is on par with what your video shows for them. I have hit a )760 demo 7 iron about a dozen times, although not on a simulator, and found it a touch easier to shape the ball and flight than my P770's. I'm actually not really looking for my distance in my irons, I'd rather have the consistent distances with them. I might do a proper formal fitting in the Spring with the P760's, and see if there is any merit to changing over to them, but I am quite happy with my P770's. Great video, thanks for posting it..
88dirtdigger Keep us posted on what you do as far as your irons are concerned, and thanks for the positive feedback about this video. We're planning on doing more in-depth comparison videos like this going forward, so we're glad you liked it. And if you have any suggestions for videos that you think would be good ones for us to do, please let us know. Thanks!
I believe the 760 is the smallest of these 3. I was told the first two numbers in the name is equal is to the lenghth of the blade in mm. So 760 is 76mm. I'd measure to confirm. But the 770 does look to have a thinner top line.
Greg Castillo Yes the 760 the smallest out of the 3 and yes it is 76mm. Taylormades goal was to make a more forgiving and more consistent iron then the 750 with similar look and feel.
This is the best video ive seen for club comparison. Great job! I'm in the midst of club fitting right now and i'm torn on which is the best for my game. I don't need more distance but just like all golfers i need more accuracy and consistency. Thanks for the valuable info!
James I have a question: I play with the P770, great feel it has the modus shaft with medium flight regular; I'm 65 and don't hit the 7 iron far, fly it around 139. I tried the latest P790's with a KBS c taper lite 110 and flew it from 148-151. Wondering how much a factor the shafts were? And if I reshafted the P770's with this shaft and bend them 1 degree stronger, would that almost match the P790? Thanks
Maybe it would be helpy to compare shots with the same distance - difference clubs. P790 club for 180 y (maybe 8?) and PXYZ for 180 y distance and then compare performace and dispersion..
Marcos Cado I would say performance wise they would be pretty similar and that the decision would probably come down to look with the Apex Pro having the more compact profile.

"We're going to utilize both of our brain cells..." I laughed out loud.

Great recommendation Jan thank you for the feed back!
I think P770 wins, just look at that dispersion ring, pretty tight shots! I’m torn between P770 and Apex Pro 16, which would you guys go for?

I have p770 and feel like butter
Taylormade all the way
I would say 770 I have played taylormade my hole life and have always loved them
that dispersion pattern with the 770...
