Bro I really love and appreciate your videos... That are so open, honest from your perspective, and very informative. Keep up the great work man with helping us indie artist stick together! I'll definitely be tuned in!
One plus is. I had a situations where artist register song with my beat without my permission and RUclips videos on my channel get claims. Need to beat the game. Thanks God all of them was really solid persons and removed the track when i asked. :)
I'm a music producer and I come across a lot of artist using my beats with my vocal tags (meaning they didn't pay for the beat ) still in the song and posting on RUclips, even sometimes distributing the song with cdbaby, tunecore etc. So most times they are making money off my music for free. So I came across this tunecore publishing and it says "youtube composition royalties". Does that mean if I, example, publish "beat 1" through tunecore publishing administration, will they act like RUclips content ID and find whoever is using my "beat 1" and collect my royalties? Hopefully you can answer this. Thanks.
Abel Beats That’s precisely what TuneCore Publishing Administration does. The video would be flagged and taken down and/or the original owner “You” would receive all future royalties derived from video.
Thanks for this info man! Question: I just checked my ASCAP registered works and it says that Tunecore owns 50% publishing on my album songs and 37.5% on some songs...This seems incorrect. Or does that just mean that they are collecting the publishing and paying me after it is processed? Im confused with this as i know publishing is super important to own...Please let me know if you have insight on this. Thabnks man
but if u do a music video to the song they will claim copyright on youtube and u won't be able to use youtube tools to promote on your own i'm going through one now and i'm lost
Love this video. I'm wondering if I use Tunecore for Publishing administration can I use another service like VerseOne for Distro? I know there is no one size fits all anything in this business, so I'd like to mix it up. Is this possible? I'll be doing the research on my own too, but I thought I'd ask real quick here as well!!!
I heard Azelia Banks recommend TuneCore some time ago and I've been rocking with them for a bit now. I've released my first EP last year. Prepping for a new single release. Thanks for the info.
People started creating websites for free music downloads in Haiti and they sure make money with that. Do you you think music publishing administration will also collect money from those sites?
Hey TJ sup bro! I never used CD Baby PRO or TuneCore Publishing. I’m currently on SongTrust. You said that SongTrust pats 100% but even after we pay $100 registration fee.. I believe SongTrust still takes 15%... I could be wrong though... I hate paying $10 for Ten additional songs on SongTrust! I may have to jump to TuneCore Publishing bro! Thanks TJ!
Hi sir..please when registering your composition with tunecore publishing administration for the first time...how long does it take for royalties to pay out?
Yes I understand that's for sound recording royalties...I'm talking about mechanical royalties like songwriters and radio airplay, how long does it take for tunecore to check out royalties on that?
Hi! I see you posted this video 5 years ago. So you have some perspective today. If I choose Tune Core, it would be only for the sync placement service. Would you happen to have any feedback on this specific service? Are they effective, have you ever had a sync placement?
I’ve just recently allowed them access to my catalog. Like any service with thousands of clients and probably 100x the songs, I would not rely on them to be the sole sync agent.
As a Producer i need advice. I want to start shopping beats around (via youtube/website/face to face sale) do i need to first go to copyright.gov register the “beat” (instrumental), then take it to BMI register the beat and then to tune core and register the beat? Do i need to BMI/tunecore the beat itself before someone raps on it or buys it? Or do i need to hold off on tunecore and BMI until it actually releases as a song?
hello and thanks for your video it was very informative, but i have accounted some problem with tune core I have uploaded my music and made some money but when i asked for a withdrawal they said that "Withdrawals Are Temporarily on Hold" and i have no idea how to solve that, can you please help?
peace bro i havent been on BMI in over 7years i am now making beats again so when i logged in my account i noticed tunecore published 4 works of mine and i dont know how that happen, do you know what possibly.happened and since they did publish my works am i part.of tunecore i dont remember joining them
Great vid thanks man! Question tho, Say a collaborator was to upload a project but never told them there % uploaded through it through in grooves , project did really well how would one go about finding there split or trying to claim it??
Hi there... I have a song set to release next week on another distributor called ditto .... can I publish the song now on tunecore even if its yet to be released?
Great video. I have loss my $720 royalist in repost network. But I will sift tune core. Can I unlimited published tune core administrator only $75 one time purchase? Are you serious?
I am splitting royalties with a producer where we do 50/50 split, where I sing and get 100% Lyrics and he gets 100% Music. I cannot use youtube content ID because the beat I am using is a lease and others could be potentially using it on youtube as well. My question is, if I do this service, will this essentially activate content ID on youtube videos and put others at risk for copy-write? I don't want to disturb any other artists using the beat as well. Also when it comes to sync licensing, I'm ok with them pitching it in some libraries and taking the % off the top, but if I create a seperate opportunity on my own for getting my music onto a film/commercial/whatever, will I run into any issues with tunecore trying to swoop the % because I released the song through them and have this publishing administration running?
I'm thinking about releasing a single through Cdbaby. They offer something called CdBaby Pro which offers publishing. I understand that CdBaby uses SongTrust. Should I not sign up for CdBaby's publishing and just sign up with SongTrust?
Should I be using both BMI and then Tunecore as well. Can you even really do that? I've heard from some that BMI collect royalties for you In certain areas and that tunecore picks up the royalties that BMI may have missed?

Although I have heard some her Renda‘s stories about monetizing through Facebook or RUclips which so far I’ve decided not to do at this moment. Heyy, thanks for the vid! At the distribution level do you register with BMI/Ascap as well, or do you just give that information for Tunecore Publishing when you sign up to that service? Thanks!
Some distributors have publishing (CD Baby/Tunecore) ...at Tunecore it can be combined with your upload process. Bottom line is you give them the info...

Is it possible to use distro kid for the distribution of multiple albums and songs and just use tune core publishing services for collections licensing and tracking ?
Thanks In order to use there licensing services will i have to sign up for distribution did it do any justice for you I see you have a distro kid account also What is the difference ?

Hi) I am thinking about TuneCore's publishing administration. But I got a bit confused... What if I am currently not affiliated with no PRO. What benefits does it give if I chose one for the options when registering on TuneCore's publishing administration program? And what if I chose not to be affiliated?
Hey bro so when you register with tunecore for the publishing, say your only putting out a single for example. Is it publishing for the song as a whole ? Do you know how it works ?

Is that accurate? What happens if you just had more streams in more countries than another time period. Are you comparing them side by side?
DOES SONgtress pitch it for tv licensing too? and can u just use tunecore for publishing and release songs somewhere else
