    I've ran 2 sets of the Altimax on my '07 AWD Volvo wagon, and I love them. They're great in the wet weather, and they're fantastic in the winter weather we get here in the northeast. They were a vast improvement over the Continental Eco Contacts that came on the car when I bought it. The RT43's were quieter, better in the weather especially snow, and actually improved my gas mileage by nearly 1mpg.
    Also, I just ordered a set of Grabber ATX's for my 4Runner, I'm excited to get them before the snow flies.

    The General Tire RT43 is great for all-round performance and enhanced fuel economy for the Honda van. I've used it my self on a 2013 Honda Civic LX. But for the Canadian climate where I'm from I would go with the Cooper EnduraMax because it is an All-Weather 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake tire with extra durable rubber. A great all-in-one tire.

    Just yesterday I had 4 General Altimax RT43's put on my 2013 Cadillac CTS. I picked that tire based solely on needing an all-weather tire (Midwest) and it was neither the cheapest tire nor the most expensive. I didn't think to view RUclips Videos first (always view RUclips reviews before you buy!). I was under a timeline so I neglected to watch RUclips videos first. Nevertheless, i am here the day after getting them and, per your video and the comments, it LQQKS like I made a good choice. Driving on them today I feel a big difference in the these tires so far. Great review. I just bought a set of Uniroyal Tiger Paw Touring a/s tires for my 1999 Subaru Legacy Outback. I previously had a set of Uniroyal Tiger Paw AWP ii tires that lasted me 12 years. Uniroyal seems to get a lot of hate, but I don't understand it. They're made by Michelin, and I've heard from several tire experts that their current touring all season tire is even better than their previous versions. I realize there are better high end tires on the market, but Tiger Paws are great for everyday driving. Mine even performed well in a moderate amount of snow, although it probably helps that I have all wheel drive.

    How fortunate is this video . I am currently deciding on tires for the wifes 2014 Grand Caravan and had narrowed it down to Uniroyal Tiger Paws AS and the General Altimax Rt43 .
    These two are very close in price and what people think about them . Some people love and hate both which makes picking tires kind of crap shoot . In the end I chose the Uniroyals due to price and the reviews . It was a difficult decision because they were so close. I went with the Tiger Paws because I liked the fact that they were owned by Michilen and they were made in the US ,no Chinese specials for me . Your choice of tires were good suggestions . I am up in the air now about Cooper seeing that they are now part of Goodyear which I am not a fan of . Hopefully the Uniroyals will give me good service .

I am considering the Michelin CrossClimate2, @ $205 in my area vs. a Copper tire @ $150. I am replacing Michelin Premier. However, I read that the CrossClimate2 has high rolling resistance that could lower my gas mileage by as much as 15%. That does come to a significant amount of money over the long-term when gas is $3.35 per gallon at the present moment. I drive primarily on paved roads, however, I have a farm in upstate NY where I have a dirt and stone 1/4 mile driveway (not to mention the occasional need to drive across a farm field! I have Hankook on my 05 crv and they suck! They were rated very high. I opted for the Uniroyal.
    I have never used Uniroyal and always liked the BF Goodrich, but the prices are too high.

      The Uniroyal is a good tire. I put them on my moms car.

      @@CampusautoCo Thanks. I just want tires that are good in the snow and rain. I know that is too much to ask for in one tire.

    Is it OK to use a winter tire as an all season tire. In particular a I was considering the Cooper Discover True North

    • @barfo281
      @barfo281 Год назад

      @John Michael Nobile - Do NOT use a winter tire for all seasons.
      1) They are designed for temperatures below 44 degrees (F).
      2) They will wear out much faster in temperatures above 45 degrees (F). They'll also be sloppier in handling in those temperatures, because the compound is softer.
      3) Copper Discoverer True North are AWESOME winter tires....but they are winter tires ONLY. I ran them for 3 winters and switched to all seasons in the spring. They can go for another winter or two, but no way would they last if I ran them in spring/summer/fall.

    Tire Rack shipped my set of wheels and tires and the wheel weights fell off 2 of them. One of the wheels had a chip in it! I called them and they didn't believe me! I had to go back and forth through emails and send pics for a month now (they claimed they are too busy!??) and take the car in to get the wheels balanced myself. Don't waste your time with Tire Rack! I am still trying to resolve my claim a month later! Horrible customer service!!
