She always slept until I was gone. I paid no heed though but the damned button. Ajeeb. I was struggling not knowing she stood there until her voice came, “Mein krdu?” I slowly looked up, nervous. And simply nodded. How could one look pretty even after they had just woken up? She somehow embodied it well. Because even in her simple clothes and light duppata she radiated beauty, and my heart was beating faster. Her lithe fingers spread warmth the moment they rested on my wrist. They were soft and elegant, I tried focusing on anything else but I couldn’t. I was transfixed to her eyes, her long lashes fluttering focused, her hair flowing until her waist which I wanted to feel against my hands. To wrap my hands around them and whisper how lucky I got in her ears…but then she was done. The button was in, and I wished ke dusra wala bhi na laga pata. She smiled at me, and curse the skies her dimples had my heart beating even faster than it already was.
