Hola Nina! My name is Abby Walsh and I just want to tell you that you were so inspirational, you help me so much as a fellow actor and I thank you for that. Now I’m only 13 but I love acting! Thank you for all your advice 😁 ( also Nina means girl in Spanish)
Thank you. I’m only 19 and I definitely have much improving to do. This is only one of my videos (one of the older ones). I definitely have gotten better since then. It’s definitely hard to hear constructive criticism but this is the business. Thanks again!
Definitely keep it up you’re young and remember less is more a lot of the time. When I first started auditioning I’d have zero energy so you’ve definitely got me beat there when I was your age. Great energy but think about how would you say this in real life. The camera is blunt, unforgiving and shows EVERYTHING. All in all, keep grinding you’re young I started at 21 (again you’ve got me beat). Find classes with great teachers who are going to push you and not sugar coat. If you haven’t studied a technique I’d study Meisner. It helped me a lot. Remember “Live TRUTHFULLY in imaginary circumstances”. Good Luck and don’t worry it’s always hard to hear constructive criticism on an art form you put time into.
@@joshuatamirpersonal8137 Much Appreciated! I’m working with an acting coach and have been improving very much. I definitely see my faults in this video! (Yikes makes me cringe watching it lol) I can always look at this and see how much I’ve grown! (And definitely always need realness)
Monologue critique: she is actually pretty good in my opinion, I think she would do great in theatre where you act a little bit less casual and she’d play funky and weird characters quite well
@@geethakarthikeyan1601 yeah in this case, camera acting is more casual and realistic. Whereas, theatre acting is more over the top. Don’t worry your English is great x

I definitely understand her about DM the people who follow her💯And I’m always here for her videos because I’m trying so hard to start filming and working!
Wow! I just found this channel today, and I'm loving it! I found it while searching for, "Reacting To Myself On TV," videos. I just want to say (or type, in this instance) I love your content; keep doing a great job, and God bless you! P.S., I'm not particularly focused on an acting career; although, I'd be willing to try it out if given the opportunity to do so. Moreover, If I find myself being more intrigued to pursue such an endeavor, I don't see myself shying away from said interest (since I've always been somewhat interested in acting/voice recording). I just turned 17 years of age, by the way, so I'm saying all of this in a rather passive light. I know I've been pretty long-winded, but I said all of that to say that if you can get someone who was not particularly involved in the aforementioned field to become interested in your content, enough to even subscribe to your channel (which I have done), you are doing something right. Keep up the good work, remain humble, and everything else will be taken care of. Good day!
I definitely agree with you with your critic on her monologue. The energy was great but definitely needs to work on just making it more natural and better transitions.
Heyyyy so I’ve been looking at TONS I’m telling u TONS of vids on acting and I just want to know like good acting classes and like schools that’s are good , I live in nyc which may be an good advantage! I want to start acting and modeling and singing ! I’ve seen ppl on Instagram post about this but I have no idea how to get started and this is litterly something I’m passionate about ! I actually took modeling classes when I was smaller and started acting/singing when I was small as well but then I stopped for a while and now that I’m 13 I realized I love doing that , what are classes I should take and like great agency’s u love ( Ik this is too much but if you know about barbizon , would u recommend it ?)
barbizon is a scam, agencies never ask for money upfront they take 10% from your paycheck. if an agency, like barbizon, asks you to pay them money upfront, RUN because that is a SCAM.
The lady at the end with the monologue didn't do but per se. It really depends on what she was auditioning for so to say. For theatre it would be great with her hyperexpressiveness. For film it is not so much but that's okay. Being able to have theatre down is great as well. Film/TV is a matter of toning it down and taking more time to listen to yourself and others opposing you in a scene or whatnot. Anyway, loved the video (: Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us
ive taken Drama in 6th-7th grade also drama in high school 9th-10th before taking IB theater in high school 11th-12th with all that i never thought id be good enough to consider myself an actor, just a school thespian. after seeing this its given me motivation to say i wont sell myself short.
Classes are meant for you to improve over time. Don’t stress so much about being perfect/good at the start: just focus and give it your all while listening to your teacher(s)!
So glad your back! Your videos have really helped me start working towards my dream of being an actress! If I have been taking lots of classes is it time to get an agent?
Great video, especially for young people. And I will be very interested to see your selfie headshot video. Re the monologue- it seemed like all the communication was happening at the very top of her body and not her whole body. It would have been nice to see more character introspection because our brains do so much talking with the parts of us that don’t make sounds.
Hey I literally got home from drama class trial, loved it so much and hopped straight onto you video I’ve literally seen every other one and had to get more I love all your tips
agree with you on that monologue is a little over the top, but honestly i think it would be better suited for theatre, where you do need to be more over the top.
hey makayla, can you do a vid about how to not over act? when recording a self tape should you talk with your hands, or can you touch your hair or touch your face ? 🤍
i graduated from jc a couple of years ago. don't be discouraged at all. jc is going to teach you a lot about the business. i'd honestly like to retake my classes because i was not prepared and was very intimidated by the more experienced people. i've learned a lot since then. just stay true to yourself.
I think despite the fact that she was super brave by posting this , I don’t believe it was the best. I am not very good but I do think I am better than that one performance. However I do think she was acting for either more theater or a kids show where everyone is super hyper realistic and loud.
Not all can afford a photographer, make up artist and new clothes, i know is the best way to do it but we can also try some tips for the people who needs to take their own headshots.
