    DATA:
    www.sciencedirect.com/science...
Today we’re going to talk about magnesium stearate, which is a common ingredient in many supplements.
Magnesium stearate is a common flow agent. A flow agent allows powder to flow through manufacturing machines as they make certain supplements. A flow agent also allows pills to move through the GI system a little bit better and increases the absorption of the ingredients in the body a little bit better.
Magnesium stearate is classified as GRAS (generally recognized as safe). In a report from the National Center for Biotechnology, they stated that taking up to 2,500mg of magnesium stearate per kg of body weight was considered safe. This means that a person who weighs about 150 pounds could consume 170,000mg of magnesium stearate a day and still be within the safe zone.
But, on average, the amount of magnesium stearate that would be in one capsule is only 4-8mg. When you take magnesium stearate, it breaks up into magnesium and stearic acid.
    Benefits of magnesium:
    • It supports the heart
    • It supports the muscles
    • It helps you feel calmer (it’s good for anxiety)
    • It supports sleep
    • It helps build ATP (which gives you more energy)
Stearic acid is common in a person’s diet. It’s a regular fatty acid that can be metabolized for energy or turned into cellular membranes. The average female consumes about 5700mg of stearic acid every day, while the average male consumes about 8200mg of stearic acid a day. The magnesium stearate you get from supplements is 800x less than what you’re already getting from your diet.
    Stearic acid is found in:
    • Animal fats
    • Butter
    • Lard
    • Vegetable oils
    • Cocoa butter

Magnesium stearate are works by attracting water. Once in the intestines, it can attract enough water to the intestines to stimulate the defecation process. The extra water stimulates a bowel movement. This means that it can also be used to treat rectal and colon problems.

I was just looking into this since I take a lot of supplements. I would love to head your take on Quercetin and Bromelain, especially in regards to Quercetin being a zinc ionophor.

I almost died from taking vitamins. My thyroid went hyper and I was going into cardiac arrest when it was caught. It took me 4 years to figure out it was the magnesium stearate used in making supplements. Since then I have avoided magnesium stearate at all costs, but it is used so frequently and hidden in many things - undisclosed - that I have had reoccurences but was able to catch them earlier now that I know the symptoms. I even managed to make it by taking a magnesium supplement and putting coconut oil (stearic acid) on my skin daily. I may be very sensitive to it, but it is a toxin.

I have heard tons of others saying it is not healthy. Makes me a little cautious knowing he uses it in his supplements.

Aside the factors addressed within this video, it's ok to supplement, but remember all the other ingredients that also come with supplements also have to be absorbed and processed within, in summary where physically possible always seek 'natural food based' sources.

It took me years to figure it out, that I get gut inflammation flareups and brainfog that take days to calm down, from Magnesium Stearate. And also from soy lecithin, which is also an emulsifier like mag.stearate. it is in so many Products. I avoid it now like hell.

Why is it then that for ten years I have not been able to tolerate any medicin or supplement. Only recently I concluded that the common factor in all my perscriptions was magnesiumstearate. Since then I have only accepted pills and capsules without magnesiumstearate and I am OK now.

I just spoke with one of Dr. Berg’s advisors and found out that the magnesium stearate use many of his supplements is sourced from palm oil!!? I am shocked because for years I’ve been watching Dr. Berg’s videos and he’s always been against Palm oil. So then why use it in his supplements when magnesium stearate can be sourced from other healthier oils than palm oil?? Dr. Berg tell me this is not true!

  • @russchadwell
    @russchadwell Год назад +2

Magnesium Stearate is mentioned with regard to being acquired through animal processing, cows etc. The concern is that somewhere in the world, some sources of magnesium stearate can pass along mad cow disease, apparently (BSE).
