I always see when foreigners come of Asian country or try to speak our language we don’t judge them or make fun of them instead we’ll be really happy and encourage them or even teach them a few word. But when Asian people can’t properly speak English fluently and tried to speak with their accent they’ll be making fun of them. At last, I’m very proud to be Asian because we don’t just fucking stuck on one language, able to speak at least more than 3 is good enough I guess.

As a Hispanic person, it is still so surprising to me how similar Filipino and Spanish culture is. Adobo is something we also make in Cuban culture and some words in Filipino dialects have Spanish roots or are literally the same word.
It’s because Spain came in and took over our culture and remnants of Spain exist in our culture today

We're pretty much the "Hispanic Asians" of the world. However, America tried real hard to erase the Hispanic part when they beat Spain as our colonizer. Spanish language was part of our basic school curriculum when my mother was still in her elementary school. It got removed by the time she was in college (probably) and got replaced with English. So now, most of the younger generation knows English and only very few still knew Spanish (mostly my aunt/uncle generation but very basic phrases).
If you come here, lots of people, things and places are of Hispanic origin asides the pre-colonial origin of words.

Yo I loved that he spoke up for his momma. My momma has lived in the US for 25+ years and still gets shy to speak in english because of bullying. Like honestly it makes me smile and I find it so cute when they try and have an accent. The US needs to figure out how to be supportive

Ateneo Student Ilocano is a filipino dialect, he speaks English, Tagalog, and Ilocano.
Silly Goose Actually Ilocano is an Austronesian language, and so are other languages like Kapampangan, Visayan, etc. So he is trilingual. It’s a dialect if you can understand each other like British English vs American English. The difference between Ilocano and Filipino is that Filipino and English are the official languages of the Philippines, while Ilocano is one of the major languages spoken in the Philippines.

So, I speak Hmong, a bit of Lao, understand a bit of Thai, and English. Im pretty fluent in both Hmong and English. I do have an accent though because I speak Hmong when I'm home and speak English when I'm at school.
