I was lucky enough to see her perform this song on the seattle stop of the eras tour, the whole band came out on stage and it was awesome.

Fun fact about the second song New Year’s Day the lyrics “hold on to the memories and I will hold on to you.” And “please, don’t ever become a stranger whose laugh I’d recognize anywhere.” We’re lyrics Taylor had written years before this song and never found a good song to use them in, so she kept them in her journal until she wrote this song in 2016.

NYD has always been a favorite of mine that I feel has been overlooked a bit. This version of Long Live is pretty but I miss the energy of the original.
