I've done all of these steps and it didn't work for me. I don't know what happened. One day I was playing, and the next day it wouldn't launch at all. I have tried everything. Nothing works.
uninstall cod and then install xdefiant problem solved

Didnt work
I figured out my problem it was pretty simple and I think most of you guys that are on pc and going through this is probably cause you gotta go in game into “manage downloads” and see if the game is downloaded if not click the game you wanna download and it will automatically do it for you if your on steam I hope this works for anyone in need it worked for me

there is no game file. Three is 'cod22', d3d1 and main.

If you scroll down a bit you will find the file cod or cod.exe for me it’s just cod than hover your mouse over top until it bold highlights and then select properties if you don’t hover it won’t give you the compatibility option hope this helps!!

The thing that worked for me is that I formated windows 10 and installed windows 11 !!!! that's all I had to do. I didn't have to do all these browsing, setting compatibily, loading as administrator etc... I tried all that on windows 10 and nothing worked for me. Yesterday I was installing windows 11, did all the windows updates, updated game drivers, I did all the simple things we usually do after installing new operating system.
So, I hope this info can help someone out there !!
Go and upgrade your system to windows 11 and see if it works for you. (of course save all of your important files on some other disks first)

Edit: Nvm, im an idiot just find the application. Even if there isn't a bin file, it'll be there somewhere
