    PLEASE READ BEFORE COMMENTING:
    It seems like they wanted us to think it’s Cindy, especially since they made a point to show her using her powers and Raynors head exploding in the “previously on”. We totally fell for that apparent misdirect at first. But after rewatching the episode, thinking about it further and then reading some of your comments - then yes, we get that it most likely wasn’t Cindy behind that whole massacre at the end. And that it can be used on supes as well, since Shockwave also died. Thanks 🙂

    • @junjun5p839

      well yeah, it cant be Cindy coz with her power, almost the whole person explodes, not only the head. love the simple make-up of Kat and the Butcher look of Sonny, more power to the channel guys!

    • @dhorn4005

      One thing though; not all supers have the same power levels. I mean; Starligth is clearlly bulletproof; but she can be pierced with an electric saw; so her skin is clearlly weaker than Translucid; whoose skin could not be penetrated by a huge drill. In the same way; it's impliyed Homelander can laser trough even other supes...yet Stormfront can whistand a cocentrated blast to the chest with minor burns... Also, Kimiko seems to have normal skin and can be injured as a regular human being... (although she regenerates). Also, A-Train got his leg broken by Kimiko...
      MY POINT IS; maybe Shokckwave is not nearlly as tougth as Homelander and Stormfront. Maybe he eve wasn't bulletproof. We don't know; but as far as we know; Homelander and Stormfront can be inmune to whoever is popping heads because they are specially indestructible supers...

    • @kevindean0000

      I think it may be Eagle the Archer. Have we seen what he can do? The church ex-communicating him may just be there way of distancing themselves from him while he's on this mission in case he gets caught. Perhaps his "archery" explodes the heads like actual head shots.

    • @hermescybergistus1329
      @hermescybergistus1329 4 года назад

      @2 6 I can think of at least 2 possible reasons, son. Shockwave could've simply been collateral damage. Humans have been guilty of it, & so have supes like Homelander.
      The second possibility is to make it look like a supe terrorist spree killing, to cover up the real reason for the slaughter - to silence an inconvenient testimony.

  • @kiwichlofro3733
    @kiwichlofro3733 4 года назад +95

    I don’t think it’s Cindy. Sonny when you said “where is this all going” with the church stuff ... I just have a feeling it has to do with this. But I still have no idea!
    Why I don’t think it’s Cindy -
    She would need to be on voughts side, and she’s definitely not after she was locked up and experimented on by them. I also think she was locked up when the CIA lady was killed.
    Edit- could be Edgar? Maybe that’s why he’s in that position and isn’t afraid of supes. The only reason I think not is CIA lady situation. He knows of butcher and his gang so he would have blown their heads up too. Also it seems like the type of situation you send someone else on, not the leader of vought!

    • @kixter490
      @kixter490 4 года назад +8

      Kiwi Chlofro Also when Cindy kills the guard I think we don’t see it up close on purpose.
      Because we would have seen that she *crushes* the guard’s head and the blood sprays out.
      Whereas these people and the CIA woman had their heads explode outwards, so I think it’s definitely a different supe thats doing it

    • @jackson857

      The other reason I don't think it's her is she had the ability to crush or explode peoples whole body's. Whereas all this stuff is just the head which makes me think it's some sort of bomb or chip in their heads.

      @@jackson857 Well, my guess is the fly. I don't know the comics so i may be wrong here but they teased it a lot and the fly (assuming it's a supe or controlled by one) could get into someone's head and somehow let it explode. Also i guess the church must be involved, because Shockwave's head exploded as well, so now there's a way for A-train to get back into the seven.

  • @hunzren
    @hunzren 4 года назад +3

    It's interesting that the leader of the church promised A Train he'd get his position at The Seven back, then A Trains replacement gets killed. The church leader said he had a meeting with Edgar, so I think Edgar is the head popper. He killed the direct threats first, then killed a hero he was going to fire anyway so Vought would appear like a victim as well to gain deniability

      Shockwave was picked for the Seven by Homelander and Ashley (.....well,.....Homelander).

      @Techno Master It wouldn't be a genius move, it would defeat the entire purpose of there being a corporation behind the supes, which is that supes are just a product, inconsequential in the long run.
      Mr. Edgar is not afraid, because he's simply not impressed. And Homelander knows he can't do anything about it - the moment he rebels against he Vought, he's as good as dead with all of his dirt being available to the public. Even if they couldn't kill him (and my guess is, they can), he'd be alone against the world, and that's what he's afraid of the most.

    I think it's definitely the church of the collective who are responsible. If you noticed in that last scene, Shockwave (Who was going to replace A-Train in the Seven) also got his head exploded along with VogelBauhm and the head of the committee. So the head of the church guy said he would get the Deep and A-Train back in the Seven. So he's doing Vought this favour by killing the star witness and the head of the committee while also taking out A-Train's main rival so Vought will have to take back A-Train and the Deep into the Seven.

    You might be interested in knowing that Amazon is developing a spin-off series and Craig Rosenberg (who co-wrote 1x09, and wrote 1x04, 2x03 and this episode) is going to be the showrruner. It's going to follow a group of teenagers from a team called G-Men (yes, a parody of X-Men). I think Lamplighter knew his fire would set off the fire alarm and cause power to come on in the supe containment cell. He knew he was going to die at the hearing. That was going to be his last heroic act. Then Hughie offered him the chance to save Starlight and really be a hero...one last time...as well as giving him a better way to check out on his own terms instead of some unknown way at the hearing. He was just so caught up in his own death and his regrets that he forgot to tell Hughie.
    And what's wrong with Lamplighter watching porn? He likes it...and he was expecting to die soon. So why not? I don't think Mallory would let him have a couple of college girls.

He was an avenger (not pun inteded)... until the person to avenge; resulted not to be dead. he acepted Mallory's back alley exit, hopping he could leave his figthing days behind... but then again; Becka would not scape with him. So, down to self destruction it is... Until brougth back by Huey. Serving as his "cannary"; he has stayed in the figth; dancing in the line of good and bad... Starligth herself compared him to Homelander; and this deeplly troubled him. He is triying to be the best version of himself: a motherfucker; but he hero of the story after all...
      But re-encountering his father enligthened him. HE IS just like Homelnader; a broken toy barelly kept on the ligth by his brother, then Beckka and now Huey... but allways in the verge of becoming a monster. After meeting his father, seing that the battle is being lost; he embraces the shadow and manages to obtain Doc's help... by just being as evil as Homelander.
      AND; when this also backfires; he just looses it. Now he really needs to become as diabollical as Homelander to take him down. Not more hearings, not more detentions... Wthever is planning; I think he has determined to embrace his father's legacy and just kill them all... Now he is ready to be a villain to take down the other villains

    sooo, I wanna open discussion to 2 things
    1. The end. I have these reasons for not believing that it was Cindy:
    . Mainly one - once she's free, why would she do that? Stormfront tried to kill her, so I don't think she would do anything behalf of Storm. IF she exploded Raynor's head (assuming she knows how to control her powers, we just saw she exploding a whole body after all), I believe it was because she was forced to;
    . It's too obvious. I bet the writters made this "blowing heads" thing to confuse us;
    . My final guess is that this was orchestrated by the Church, specially because Shockwave was the only super to die, which means, A-Train must back to the Seven (as they promised).
    2. I think that the way they're working Stormfront in the script is awesome. As a true nazi, literally, she knows how to do propaganda and manipulation on people more than anyone - and the fact that they uptade all this to the present day, with the internet & TV media, sends very important and implicit messages to us, viewers. On the same line, she sees Ryan on the same pure race sort of shit, because he is the first natural super. Based on her speech, she probably wants to create a whole army of "pure sups" and control all the world (very fun, isn't? haha); then you ask me "aight, but then who gonna stop her?", and I answer: Homelander! Stormfront puts her cause above everybody, including Homelander - and as a narcissist person, when he realize that, then he'll know she's manipulating he. Btw, he is also a non-pure super and deep down she hates this fact. Oh, and I also think that Ryan'll figured out he's being controlled, or maybe something will happen to Becca (or even The Boys will get him back) and he'll turns against Stormfront and Homelander. And if this happen, is one more reason to Homelander turns against Storm aswell - yes, he is a psycho and all that, but I don't believe he'd kill his own son for someone who is manipulating him.
    Well, I think I went too far with these guesses, but I'm here for this anyways =D

He created one of the most evil beings on the planet (second only to Stormfront), so if the murder of his family is the only thing to motivate him to help take down said evil being, then so be it. Hell I wouldn't mind at all if Butcher did bash Doc V's daughter's brains out. His son (Homelander) has killed many daughters in the most brutal of ways, and his daughter gets to live a life of luxury from all that blood money? Fuck that.

    Vought may keep them locked in a fake village, but Becca does seem free to raise Ryan how she wants to. Now, I understand that hiding some truths was for the best, but this level of sheltering was always going to backfire.
    As soon as Homelander (and specially Stormfront) showed up talking about the outside world there was no avoiding reality anymore. Becca should've taken the initiative and start explaining things to the kid to soften the blow of the truth and then all she could do was to trust that her positive influence would be enough to keep Ryan on the right path.

Also gets another handpicked plant inside the company with A-train.
      Probably the thing with eagle-arrow was done on purpose to plant the idea into A-train's mind that after all is said and done he can't leave the church and is now owned. Or it's real and accomplishes the same thing. All very culty. Chess moves.
