Right now the series have nothing with the comics anymore, the end of first season was basically a middle finger for people that wanted to spoil the final plot twist from comics, about Black Noir.
@@DystopiaWithoutNeons That doesn't mean they're not doing a version of who he really is. That was legit the last major twist they revealed at the end of the series. They're not gonna give it away in season 1 when they've barely explored this world yet.
defs not cindy, she was thrown in to distract us cos she has similar powers, i 100% belive the boss church guy is involved, whether he got powers or just knows a guy that does. He is close enough with Vought to have meetings with Edgar and he first people that died would have caused problems for Vought, the judge and then the witness, after that it was random people except Shockwave which was on his hitlist so he can get A-Train back into the seven.
I don't know why everyone everywhere always assumes it's Cindy. She implodes things, the head-popper explodes them. Pretty sure it's Alistair from the Church. Shockwave is dead so A-Train is back in the Seven, just like he promised. The Church infiltrating the Seven has to be the internal coup Raynor mentioned back in the first episode. I hate waiting 4 more days to find out. Then I'm gonna hate waiting another year for season three.
I think Lamplighter knew his fire would set off the fire alarm and cause power to come on in the supe containment cell. He knew he was going to die at the hearing. That was going to be his last heroic act. Then Hughie offered him the chance to save Starlight and really be a hero...one last time...as well as giving him a better way to check out on his own terms instead of some unknown way at the hearing. He was just so caught up in his own death and his regrets that he forgot to tell Hughie. And what's wrong with Lamplighter watching porn? He likes it...and he was expecting to die soon. So why not? I don't think Mallory would let him have a couple of college girls.
a bunch of random people dying is not the red wedding. 6 MAIN characters died in the red wedding. I understand your comparison though, It was really mindblowing!
I got this from Wikipedia. There are several versions. Rub-a-dub-dub, Three men in a tub, And who do you think they be? The butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker, And all of them out to sea. 🤦🏽♀️(Ain't that the truth)
I don't think it's cindy, it's too obvious, but what if it's Stan Edgar, maybe that's why he wasn't afraid of Homelander, it would also explain why he is in such a high position at vaught.
Vought wanted Shockwave to be the new A-train, if it was Edgar he wouldnt kill a guy who was about to make them a lot of money. I think its the church, they are doing Vought a favor and also killing the other speedster to A-train can get back to the seven. Sorry for bad english
Trash Bandit and it also makes sense why CIA director was killed the church blew her head to keep stormfronts secret as liberty because she used to be a member but i bet she was a founder
The way they do a close up on Butcher face in the end, I believe he knows who did it (the church probably), he probably got information from the Ex-CEO from Vought, but they hid the scene to keep the reveal for the finale.
I think all the season Billy has been struggling with who he is. He was an avenger (not pun inteded)... until the person to avenge; resulted not to be dead. he acepted Mallory's back alley exit, hopping he could leave his figthing days behind... but then again; Becka would not scape with him. So, down to self destruction it is... Until brougth back by Huey. Serving as his "cannary"; he has stayed in the figth; dancing in the line of good and bad... Starligth herself compared him to Homelander; and this deeplly troubled him. He is triying to be the best version of himself: a motherfucker; but he hero of the story after all... But re-encountering his father enligthened him. HE IS just like Homelnader; a broken toy barelly kept on the ligth by his brother, then Beckka and now Huey... but allways in the verge of becoming a monster. After meeting his father, seing that the battle is being lost; he embraces the shadow and manages to obtain Doc's help... by just being as evil as Homelander. AND; when this also backfires; he just looses it. Now he really needs to become as diabollical as Homelander to take him down. Not more hearings, not more detentions... Wthever is planning; I think he has determined to embrace his father's legacy and just kill them all... Now he is ready to be a villain to take down the other villains
Butcher has so many reasons to go the f off. I can see him taking compound V and being the super villain storm front and homelands so do deserve. Homelander son has got to go off and kill someone. The biggest question, is Black Nior still alive?
No one seems to recognise Butcher's father is played by the same actor who played Denethor the ruler of Gondor and a awful father to Faramir, Talk about type cast.
sooo, I wanna open discussion to 2 things 1. The end. I have these reasons for not believing that it was Cindy: . Mainly one - once she's free, why would she do that? Stormfront tried to kill her, so I don't think she would do anything behalf of Storm. IF she exploded Raynor's head (assuming she knows how to control her powers, we just saw she exploding a whole body after all), I believe it was because she was forced to; . It's too obvious. I bet the writters made this "blowing heads" thing to confuse us; . My final guess is that this was orchestrated by the Church, specially because Shockwave was the only super to die, which means, A-Train must back to the Seven (as they promised). 2. I think that the way they're working Stormfront in the script is awesome. As a true nazi, literally, she knows how to do propaganda and manipulation on people more than anyone - and the fact that they uptade all this to the present day, with the internet & TV media, sends very important and implicit messages to us, viewers. On the same line, she sees Ryan on the same pure race sort of shit, because he is the first natural super. Based on her speech, she probably wants to create a whole army of "pure sups" and control all the world (very fun, isn't? haha); then you ask me "aight, but then who gonna stop her?", and I answer: Homelander! Stormfront puts her cause above everybody, including Homelander - and as a narcissist person, when he realize that, then he'll know she's manipulating he. Btw, he is also a non-pure super and deep down she hates this fact. Oh, and I also think that Ryan'll figured out he's being controlled, or maybe something will happen to Becca (or even The Boys will get him back) and he'll turns against Stormfront and Homelander. And if this happen, is one more reason to Homelander turns against Storm aswell - yes, he is a psycho and all that, but I don't believe he'd kill his own son for someone who is manipulating him. Well, I think I went too far with these guesses, but I'm here for this anyways =D
What? Shockwave literelly died the same way, so atleast some supes can die this way. And....it's not Cindey. It's obviously the Church, beacuse it helpd Vought AND A-Train in the same time.
Your comment about supe heads exploding is wrong, as A Trains replacement head was popped at the trial. It seems to me that Stormfront and Homelander weren't surprised at that happening during this committee hearing.
(no hard feelings, just out of interest) I heard that Denmark is the country in europe where it`s the hardest to make friends at. Do you think that this is true?
The fact that Homlander just stood there, with no fear that it might happen to him, suggests he new something. Cindy is probably a problem for next season.
Am I the only one who thinks Butcher's willingness to kill Vogelbaum's family is morally just? He created one of the most evil beings on the planet (second only to Stormfront), so if the murder of his family is the only thing to motivate him to help take down said evil being, then so be it. Hell I wouldn't mind at all if Butcher did bash Doc V's daughter's brains out. His son (Homelander) has killed many daughters in the most brutal of ways, and his daughter gets to live a life of luxury from all that blood money? Fuck that.
Just seeing that head exploding massacre reminded me of that spy movie, Kingsman where all those important people had those chips in their head that made their heads explode.
Vought may keep them locked in a fake village, but Becca does seem free to raise Ryan how she wants to. Now, I understand that hiding some truths was for the best, but this level of sheltering was always going to backfire. As soon as Homelander (and specially Stormfront) showed up talking about the outside world there was no avoiding reality anymore. Becca should've taken the initiative and start explaining things to the kid to soften the blow of the truth and then all she could do was to trust that her positive influence would be enough to keep Ryan on the right path.
The boy is still basically in a prison and is incredibly sheltered. Also, a boy with superpowers not being taught how to use them only leads to someone incredibly unpredictable.
regardless of her telling him, she had no choice whatsoever. she could have told him and so what? Vought would have take him to a facility away from her.
@@m1sh474 Homelander wouldn't let Vought take Ryan away. Still, Becca ended up without Ryan anyway and in this scenario, the kid is much less emotionally prepared.
@@FelipeF78 the only way this won't backfire to HL is if he and SF (more her than him) successfully brainwash Ryan. HL is a narcissist, I believe he loves Ryan and want him to have a better life that he did but SL is there to be the better mom according to them. So what HL think is the best, will be always related to his need to stroke his own ego. I don't think Ryan's feelings about the whole thing are permanent, he will want his mother back, but SF and HL will take advantage of that vulnerability.
@@m1sh474 That's true, my point was just that this whole process could've been less painful for both Becca and Ryan if she had done things a bit different.
Except that's not true at all given that she literally made a security guard explode when she escaped. Blood and gore were spread outwards indicative of an explosion and not implosion.
@@RichardStrong86 Except that's not true. The guard got crushed, blood exploded under the pressure of the body being compressed. The heads straight up exploded. It's not Cindy.
Kat was right about Butcher, that scene with the Doctor was diabolical. Dr. V just learned you don't need Compound V to create a monster. Butcher was dangerous before, but thanks to what Homelander did to his life, he is just as monstrous as any supe. PS: That last scene, I haven't felt anything like that since the Red Wedding. I came away with the same feeling.
This show has been great in helping me get over the final season of Thrones. I can never tell who's about to die and the character developments are on point.
I like how they set up similarities between homelander and butcher. Even their childhood kinda. Both fathers wanted to make them strong and both turned out to be monsters.
Damn, I thought I was the only one. Yeah, I felt like after the Red Wedding as well. Especially shocked to see Shockwave go, tbh. No idea where this is gonna go next, I love this show 0.O
Butcher is definitely not a good guy, and the show makes it very apparent that the man has blinders when it comes to his revenge. But I think that in this particular scene he was bluffing. I dont think he can kill innocent people like that.
20:46 Whoever made the attack can definitely affect supes, they killed Shockwave. As others have mentioned, a lot of people think the Church could be behind it. They said they could get A-Train back in the Seven, so taking out Shockwave is a way to open his spot again. About the Homelander movies, Brightest Day and Darkest Night are Green Lantern references.
why would the church commit mass murder just to get him back in? if they wanted to kill shockwave and had that kind of power, they could have done it anywhere, anytime
@@jamesliggins891 But doing it here, 2 birds one stone type of deal. A bunch of targets in one spot to make a statement. The Church obviously has some sort of stake in the continued success of Vought. Can't risk having them taken down. So kill the ops, big time news coverage, further promotes the need for Superheroes to catch this killer super villain while backing up the idea that they are indeed out there and dangerous and no where is safe. Also gets another handpicked plant inside the company with A-train. Probably the thing with eagle-arrow was done on purpose to plant the idea into A-train's mind that after all is said and done he can't leave the church and is now owned. Or it's real and accomplishes the same thing. All very culty. Chess moves. Or not and I'm totally wrong and it wasn't them at all...
i keep saying this, but i wouldn't be so confident about that. if the church had that kind of power, why would they commit mass murder, involving Congress and Vought executives, instead of just killing shockwave at any other point?
@@jamesliggins891 The leader of the church literally told Deep & A-Train that he had a meeting with Edgar. It doesn't take much dot connecting to see where a partnership could benefit both. The Church gets more compound V and supes, Vought has another organization covering their ass.
I have to think Sonny's comment of 'Interesting that the first word in the new language is gun' is going to be relevant. Hadn't thought of it myself until I watched this, but it must be.
Yeah it must be, i doubt it was Vaught, why would they explode Schokwave head in this? He was about to replace A Train in the seven, at Vaught will. So yeah i agree it must be someone in the Colective. Shockwave death would be good for A train coming back into the Seven as per the Church influence.
@@jamesliggins891 I'm pretty sure. The leader mentioned having a meeting with Edgar. Shockwave getting his head popped also lends to getting A-Train back in the Seven. My theory is that Vought is partnering with the Church on the low to cover their ass with the government.

You might be interested in knowing that Amazon is developing a spin-off series and Craig Rosenberg (who co-wrote 1x09, and wrote 1x04, 2x03 and this episode) is going to be the showrruner. It's going to follow a group of teenagers from a team called G-Men (yes, a parody of X-Men). Except it's not going to be a typical teenage drama, Eric Kripke promised the show would be as mature and messed up as The Boys. Seriously looking forward to it.
Phenomenal reaction!
The title of the episode refers to a famous english nursery rhyme called "Rub a dub dub".
@@thatpianoguy91 It's a 6 issue volume, exploring Billy's backstory and childhood, with the abusive dad and everything.
This episode was wild. I’m curious to see what you guys think about the ending. Who was responsible? I don’t read the comics so I’m not acting as if I know the answer.
@@randomrealistictone2231 it's a possibility, but also the tv show isn't following the comics so who know who it could really be. Could be Cindy, although that's probably a red herring. Stan Edgar, I mean the guy isn't afraid of Homelander and who knows what he is capable of. The Church, by killing members of the 7 and taking out anyone that opposes vought allows for their members to get back into the 7. Lastly, Silver Kincaid, but we haven't seen anything of that character at all.
@@brendanparker4605 please remove the last line as any comic book mentions can be classed as spoilers. Or your message will be deleted.
@@brendanparker4605 Its definitely not Cindy thats not how her powers work, she crunches things not makes people explode. When she killed the guard in the hallway he was just crushed.
I think it's the leader of the church and he's a high level telepath like Charles Xavier.
That ending blew so many minds
I don't know why everyone everywhere always assumes it's Cindy. She implodes things, the head-popper explodes them.
Pretty sure it's Alistair from the Church. Shockwave is dead so A-Train is back in the Seven, just like he promised.
The Church infiltrating the Seven has to be the internal coup Raynor mentioned back in the first episode.
I hate waiting 4 more days to find out. Then I'm gonna hate waiting another year for season three.
Such a phenomenal actor playing Butcher's dad, loved him on Fringe.
Fringe, Lord of the Rings, here...he always gets weird/bad dad roles. Lmao
Reaction-wise the hearing is like the red wedding of the boys😅🤯
a bunch of random people dying is not the red wedding. 6 MAIN characters died in the red wedding. I understand your comparison though, It was really mindblowing!
Butcher, Baker, Candlestick Maker is from a nursery rhyme. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rub-a-dub-dub
I'm guessing it's the fly that kept popping, pun intended, up in season 1.

Canadian: Cheers, c*nt.
Sonny: I thought Canadians were nice.
Hands in the air at the end LOLOLOLOL
Great reaction...and I appreciate the subtitles. Take this sub
I got this from Wikipedia. There are several versions.
Rub-a-dub-dub,
Three men in a tub,
And who do you think they be?
The butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker,
And all of them out to sea. 🤦🏽♀️(Ain't that the truth)
My guess is that the collective is behind the head popping not Cindy on her own.
@@adamcsanki6641 makes more sense,
That it's the church now they can promote their religion through the deep and A train .😁
Trash Bandit and it also makes sense why CIA director was killed the church blew her head to keep stormfronts secret as liberty because she used to be a member but i bet she was a founder
So black noir isn't just Black black..... he's B times 3. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Now thats fucking diabolical! 😂😂😂😂

I think Butcher's brother Lenny is posing heads... or the Collective.
Ooh can't wait for you guys to react to the finale! It's 🔥🔥🔥
I’m glad AOC was ok
Not all supes have enhanced durability. A-Train doesn't, so you can assume Shockwave didn't. Working on one supe doesn't mean it'll work on all.
That first scene mirrors America.
You look like an improved version of Hugh Campbell :D
12:40 hugie didn't start the fire
It's cool to watch Hughie with a beard and his girlfriend react to the episode he was just in.
The way they do a close up on Butcher face in the end, I believe he knows who did it (the church probably), he probably got information from the Ex-CEO from Vought, but they hid the scene to keep the reveal for the finale.
Nah man he is just plaining to use V on his team and to go head to head with seven
Not all the superheroes are murdering psychos. Some are just regular spoiled, egomaniacal pricks like professional athletes.
Compound V seems like a likely suspect too based on Lamplighter 's description of what could happen.
Not Cindy, probably the headmaster of the church or one of his members
Butcher has so many reasons to go the f off. I can see him taking compound V and being the super villain storm front and homelands so do deserve. Homelander son has got to go off and kill someone. The biggest question, is Black Nior still alive?
Love that lord of the rings reunion. :)
That was *DIBOLICAL*
I'm an hour late but still, completely worth it! ❤️
Is it possible that translucent is alive? Or had a twin?
No one seems to recognise Butcher's father is played by the same actor who played Denethor the ruler of Gondor and a awful father to Faramir, Talk about type cast.
We talk about it in the discussion afterwards. And yeah, a bit of a typecast there lol 😄
sooo, I wanna open discussion to 2 things
1. The end. I have these reasons for not believing that it was Cindy:
. Mainly one - once she's free, why would she do that? Stormfront tried to kill her, so I don't think she would do anything behalf of Storm. IF she exploded Raynor's head (assuming she knows how to control her powers, we just saw she exploding a whole body after all), I believe it was because she was forced to;
. It's too obvious. I bet the writters made this "blowing heads" thing to confuse us;
Well, at least a few people survived the hearing. They weren't so lucky in BvS XD
Also, have you guys seen Scanners?
Loved this episode. The only downside was Lamplighter - I feel like he had a lot of potential as an ally.
Ime an artist and I know that beauty is defined by symmetry..... Kats face is perfectly symmetrical...... Your welcome 😬
mindblowing episode
The Red Hearing....
What? Shockwave literelly died the same way, so atleast some supes can die this way.
And....it's not Cindey. It's obviously the Church, beacuse it helpd Vought AND A-Train in the same time.
Read the pinned comment...
What about that fly supes(swatto) maybe he is doing this
Awesome, thank you.
This was an insane episode! I can't wait for the season finale. Also I hate Stormfront now more than ever.
I think Homelander's son is dying in next episode...
Your comment about supe heads exploding is wrong, as A Trains replacement head was popped at the trial. It seems to me that Stormfront and Homelander weren't surprised at that happening during this committee hearing.
(no hard feelings, just out of interest)
I heard that Denmark is the country in europe where it`s the hardest to make friends at.
Do you think that this is true?
2nd favorite lesbian couple after Ellen from the Ellen Show and her wife.
Was kind of going hoping would stick around a bit longer. Guys a total sleaze but another interesting character.
I like John noble on the show fringe.
The fact that Homlander just stood there, with no fear that it might happen to him, suggests he new something. Cindy is probably a problem for next season.
He actually seemed surprised, so im not sure he knew anything about it.
Another good John Noble show is Fringe, an American Sci-Fi series, if there is a hole in your TV schedule, it is definitely worth checking out.
19 views, thx bell
Is it just me or the dude looks kind of like Hughie?
Am I the only one who thinks Butcher's willingness to kill Vogelbaum's family is morally just? He created one of the most evil beings on the planet (second only to Stormfront), so if the murder of his family is the only thing to motivate him to help take down said evil being, then so be it. Hell I wouldn't mind at all if Butcher did bash Doc V's daughter's brains out. His son (Homelander) has killed many daughters in the most brutal of ways, and his daughter gets to live a life of luxury from all that blood money? Fuck that.
Will you do reaction to Raised by wolves? It's really good series
I’m in TOTAL agreement. Very good and refreshing SciFi... I loved season 1! Ridley hasn’t lost his touch just yet....
Ahem...
Uhm...
Where's the Reaction to Episode 8!?!?!! :)
Delayed. It’ll be out as soon as it's done.

Just seeing that head exploding massacre reminded me of that spy movie, Kingsman where all those important people had those chips in their head that made their heads explode.

So what?
finally
I was really surprised that Butcher didn't send his dad flying
In the comics he pees on his coffin.🤣🤣🤣
@@LordBandit200 Might still do that, since he promised he will.
I think he didn’t do it because his mom was there.
Same I also expected butcher to throw him of the building
probably because of his mother, he seems to care more about the women in his life but his sociopathic behavior needs to be controlled all the time
Vought may keep them locked in a fake village, but Becca does seem free to raise Ryan how she wants to.
Kat: "Downton Abbey"
Me: Oh, OK.... Don't remember heads exploding in Downton Abbey......Must have missed that episode.
it's just after that time they got the tea?
Cindy doesn't make things go boom, she crushes things.
Except that's not true at all given that she literally made a security guard explode when she escaped. Blood and gore were spread outwards indicative of an explosion and not implosion.
@@RichardStrong86 Did the head just explode?
Also, why would Cindy do be doing it?
Richard Strong Squeeze a tube of toothpaste and toothpaste will shoot out of the top.
Cindy is definitely a mis-direct.
I dont think he can kill innocent people like that.
bro the red wedding was worse for me cause many known and looved characters died
@@jamesliggins891 Because Vought going down means less supes for the cult in the end. They have a vested interest in keeping the Compound V flowing.
I am really digging Starlight's..I mean Kat's look here, absolutely stunning!
i think the church has something to do with the last scene.
Me too, maybe that's why Deep seemed concerned about his head too
i keep saying this, but i wouldn't be so confident about that. if the church had that kind of power, why would they commit mass murder, involving Congress and Vought executives, instead of just killing shockwave at any other point?
@@jamesliggins891 The leader of the church literally told Deep & A-Train that he had a meeting with Edgar. It doesn't take much dot connecting to see where a partnership could benefit both. The Church gets more compound V and supes, Vought has another organization covering their ass.
I have to think Sonny's comment of 'Interesting that the first word in the new language is gun' is going to be relevant. Hadn't thought of it myself until I watched this, but it must be.
I don't think Cindy is popping heads. It's gotta be someone with the church of the collective otherwise that storyline is kinda pointless.
Yeah it must be, i doubt it was Vaught, why would they explode Schokwave head in this? He was about to replace A Train in the seven, at Vaught will.
So yeah i agree it must be someone in the Colective. Shockwave death would be good for A train coming back into the Seven as per the Church influence.
well i mean, arguably all of the deep's storylines have been "pointless," except to explore him as a character and develop his arc
@@knightheaven8992 i wouldn't be so sure about thinking it's someone in the collective
@@jamesliggins891 I'm pretty sure. The leader mentioned having a meeting with Edgar. Shockwave getting his head popped also lends to getting A-Train back in the Seven. My theory is that Vought is partnering with the Church on the low to cover their ass with the government.
This was nuts🤣
I'd go so far as to say "mind blowing"
