SW for Nanodrop runs on XP win7 vista and was easy to get,
Spectrometer unit is USB2000 from Ocean Optics sw is not available,
please help me, so i can use the detector unit for all sorts of other experiments.
This unit works and measure Absorbance from 220 to 750nm,
the USB2000 detector alone handle 200 to 1100nm
the light source PerkinElmer RSL-5202-3N no info available online.

Hello Thomas. These are widely used in the biotech and pharma industries to measure protein concentration of in-process samples. These instruments only need a few microliters of sample instead of a few milliliters required by older instruments, and they can analyze samples directly without the need for dilution, which is a huge advantage.

Thanks for the info, i am still seeking practical use for my type of lab, i think it is cool and like to keep it

The peak around 280nm for the milk sample is most likely due to the proteins in milk, proteins absorb at that wavelength because of thr aromatic aminoacids

i think it is very good explained in this video, it pulls the test distange between two mecanical test points, this way amplify the useable detection range and sensitivity, I am very happy about this instrument, and still go and wait for the next experiment i can use it for,

I don’t know- serious equipment is held together by screws, not clips. Somehow a flimsy construction…

it is cheap fast and simple.. and yes, dont feel super serious to me, I normally expect a bit more :-)

Try analysing a "Dobson Ozone Spectrophotometer"... Dobson units all by themselves are - weird..... If you were to collect all the ozone in the atmosphere and put it at the bottom of the atmosphere, you can define the quantity as thickness in Dobson Units. A Dobson Unit is a milli-Atmosphere-centimeter. So 100 Dobson Units is 1 mm. And the typical Ozone thickness is 300 Dobson Units (3mm). The Dobson Ozone Spectrophotometer looks into the UV range at the Ozone spectral lines.
    Just so you know.... 😂😂😂
