I did a large birthday design using a string of those lights, last year I think it was. I used foam tape instead of the box framing. However, what you could do is make one side of the frame deep enough to enclose the battery - just make sure to have the switch on the edge, It could be hidden behind part of the eventual design, with only the switch visible. I did one on the 8th of this month where the light switch was on the inside of the card and the lights hidden under a front panel. Makes it very easy to get a spectacular card done quite quickly!
You are so clever Sam, I just love your tutorials I’ve just made the chocolate bar card for my friends son and just ordered some lights to do this light up card for my parents. Super ❤
Sam, you hit this shadow box-card out of the park! Can't pick one fav. High-lights vs low-lights, each with its own beauty. You are a bright light and inspiration in our crafty corners. Thanks. Be blessed 💞
Hi Sam, such an amazing card, I love both of them. I’ve just followed your link for the lights, but the price has increased to a massive £21.38! I’m watching it in September’22. Thanks for the inspiration 😊
WOW Sam Your shadow cards with boxes are fabulous 🥰 I love the pattern papers, the images and your layouts. They are both my favorite ❤ thanks for sharing your creativity Hugs xx
It's not just a card, it's a gift that can be used for many Christmases to come. What a lovely project this is. It was such a fun live too Sam. Thanks as always. X
OMG!! These are absolutely gorgeous. You are a genius. I love them both. Like you said who looks at the back of a card and it needs to be easy to turn the lights on. It’s hand made and amazing. Thank you as always for a great and easy to follow tutorial xx
I’ve been wanting to try a card with lights for ages. Your tutorial has inspired me. I didn’t realise you could cut them down to suit the size of your project👍
Wow u r so concern bout the price hike..tnx...im not affected though..im from philippines and u gave me this idea which really at the back of my mind. very impressive thank u
Absolutely gorgeous make, as always and brill tutoria;. Love how you made the shadow box frame, Sam. Will be so useful; for my crafting. Thank you so much xx
GORGEOUS!! Thank you so much Sweet Sam, You have out done yours again!! When I'm able to purchase your Sets I'm going to make some of these for my grandbabies...I hope that you and your family is well...Have a Wonderful Peaceful Day!!
I couldn't possibly choose between them! They are both stunning 😍 you have some very lucky people on your Christmas card list, I wish I was one of them 😢 XX
I love how much fun this would be to make! Could you please say where the little birdies, and the other decorations, are from? I feel I’ve looked diligently through your listed sources, but I don’t see them. I’m hoping they’re available in the U.S, too! I see that I’m subscribed, but have not viewed your channel bc you’re in the U.K, and shipping costs. But your shadow box card pulled me right in!
Hello Louise, the birds and little holly etc are all from the Paper-craft Society kit I showed in the video and it’s listed in the description box below the video. It’s all from Craft Stash who ship to the US 😀
@@MixedUpCraft Sam, I see it now-and it’s stamps! Wha-stamping is unknown to me, oh no! Distressing is one thing but stamping an outline then coloring it in is another, not to mention it opens a whole new category of crafty supplies to start acquiring. I’ve remained blissfully without stamps so far. But this kit is so charming. What to do....! I don’t do cards, you see, I make odd little things of my own. Well, food for thought!
wow so beautifull Could you please send me the dimensions again? It's because I'm from Belgium and I have to convert this. But I have no idea how if I just hear the dimensions 🙈 . Thanks in advance Greetings Linsay xx
I have received the fairy lights and want to make something special for my sister's birthday in March. I'm too busy making 40 Christmas cards and 10 treat holders to do now. I've looked at your Shadow Box videos and can't seem to come up with a theme to make for her card. I don't want to use "snow" so maybe glitter to hide the wire? But again, I can't think of what to do. Will you be doing anything using glitter and not winter themed? Thank you.
Love this idea, Sam. 😊. How well does the card stand for display with the battery pack attached to it? Did you use a heavyweight card stock, such as the Stampin Up heavy white?
Thank you so very much, Sam! You have given me so much inspiration, AND how-to, I feel like I should sign everything -- From: Angela and Sam. lol Not really joking all that much (and yes, the Sam really should go first!)! These 'cards' are fabulous, and of course I have to go with the silver and bright white as my fave because of how they go with the deep blue of your beautiful paper. I do have one question (well, one at a time...lol) what acetate are you using currently, uh, in the 12x12, very clear, sturdy thickness and heat resistant? Asking because it's going to have to be ordered and shipped (to the US) and there are a ton of negative reviews about scratched and dirty sheets arriving quite often. Appreciate any help you might have a moment for. Btw, I have been thinking of a project since watching your lantern vid from last year, and today you filled in the last piece of the how-to puzzle! So, Thank You some more! -- Angela from Wyoming, USA
I like the silver one best. But they are both stunning. Thank you so much for your tutorials they are easy to follow.
God you are so clever.I have been watching your videos for a while now and iam hooked.I love both, silver & gold. Thanks sam. Joanne

I am watching on RUclips and don't see a description box, 😐.
I figured it out! I always watch your videos on my phone and apparently the description box does not come up on mobile devices. Thank you x
I’m on my phone now and you need to click on the small arrow x

Hi Carol it’s from my new paper pad which is linked below the video in the description box.
Lovely, fun cards. Trying to find the Collall glue you used in CraftStash. Is it the tacky one?
It’s the All Purpose one you need with the red cap
So sorry how do i find that ,I can't see it
It’s below the video Carol, you may have to click ‘more’ or ‘see more’ depending on what device your on, everything I use is listed there with links.
