My problem with your argument about Demo and Sniper both being able to delete someone from across the map is that Demo has to be within the sightline of his traps (or have a friend who can tell him when to det) and time it well, and he's vulnerable to flanking when he has a trap up because, unless he wants to detonate the trap, he's basically down a primary weapon. He can't whip around upon being damaged and 1-tap you (assuming you're 5 of 9 classes with >=150hp, of which two are very good at flanking Sniper) from out of melee range (theoretically quicker than the average person can react) like Sniper can. Sure, Demo can random crit with his pipes, but that's assuming he can aim them (or isn't using a non-grenade launching primary), and that random crits are enabled. I understand what you mean, but I think your argument is fundamentally flawed.

Make their rifle be shite at short range, and stay as it is at longer ranges. Make the sniper a sniper, make it so you CANNOT QUICKSCOPE, and that you *have* to hardscope if you want to do damage. No spamming until you do headshot, gotta hit the headshot with a charge to be substantial. And if any sniper mains cry about having to hardscope? More like hardcope. Side effect, it'd fix a lot of the bot sniper issue, they wouldn't be able to instantly pop 150 repeatedly!

The main problem that fish brought up is that the close quickscopes are much harder to hit than normal shots, so it would punish the action that requires more skill and game sense (guessing where a scout will move for instance). Personally I have an idea of rampup for hitstun, wherein the closer you are to sniper the further his aim is thrown by bullets.

(In a way this encourages combo pyro more by giving you more combinations to play on the puff + sting/recent sting + sting playstyles.)

So I'm no expert at weapon balance, but what would you think of giving the manmelter a 100 afterburn-only damage 'meter' like the phlog or cleaners carbine but only to build up one crit (the ones you get for putting out allies) to compliment the lack of a hard combo afterburn crit the weapon lacks compared to it's counterparts. I feel it would help set the weapon apart by incentivizing pot shots to build up damage while also removing the reliance on enemy pyros. If it balanced out well it would essentially be a slow build weapon that you gather up crits for. Like the cleaners carbine you could then 'choose' with a reload press when you use the crits rather than just being forced to blow them when you just want to hit an enemy, but you would have a max of 5 or so crit shots so you can't build up an insane number of crit shots.
Sorry if this isn't a good video for such a question, it's just the most recent one and I had the idea of a reworked manmelter ever since I rewatched it after watching the phlog video 8 months ago.

to play devil’s advocate, i think what schaff meant wasn’t that he was complaining about the blue sky couples because they were heterosexual but that he was more criticizing how their relationships are handled. in a lot of the cases the writers don’t know how to have a compelling emotional beat so they just make two characters fall in love without knowing how to write chemistry or relationships in general. i think tackling how love impacts endangered species is an interesting idea but i don’t think that’s what ice age or rio were going for, instead just putting two characters together because “oh, it’s a guy and a girl, what if we make them kiss”

Its fine to think sniper is balanced but don't make up stupid arguments for it when there are plenty valid ones already
So I'm no expert at weapon balance, but what would you think of giving the manmelter a 100 afterburn-only damage 'meter' like the phlog or cleaners carbine but only to build up one crit (the ones you get for putting out allies) to compliment the lack of a hard combo afterburn crit the weapon lacks compared to it's counterparts. I feel it would help set the weapon apart by incentivizing pot shots to build up damage while also removing the reliance on enemy pyros. If it balanced out well it would essentially be a slow build weapon that you gather up crits for. Like the cleaners carbine you could then 'choose' with a reload press when you use the crits rather than just being forced to blow them when you just want to hit an enemy, but you would have a max of 5 or so crit shots so you can't build up an insane number of crit shots.
Sorry if this isn't a good video for such a question, it's just the most recent one and I had the idea of a reworked manmelter ever since I rewatched it after watching the phlog video 8 months ago.

to play devil’s advocate, i think what schaff meant wasn’t that he was complaining about the blue sky couples because they were heterosexual but that he was more criticizing how their relationships are handled. in a lot of the cases the writers don’t know how to have a compelling emotional beat so they just make two characters fall in love without knowing how to write chemistry or relationships in general. i think tackling how love impacts endangered species is an interesting idea but i don’t think that’s what ice age or rio were going for, instead just putting two characters together because “oh, it’s a guy and a girl, what if we make them kiss”
i could be wrong since i haven’t watched that video in a while and don’t really feel like watching it again but from what i remember of it that’s what i believe he meant. overall i don’t mind him but i tend to take his… takes… with a grain of salt. i can at least appreciate that he doesn’t shit on mcu projects by principle and properly discusses his opinions on them, even if it usually goes back to distaste anyways considering his current thoughts on the mcu (which i am inclined to agree with)

schafrillas makes such bad content. he usually just parrots the same talking points that everyone else does and never brings up anything new. i think his biggest crime is his Better Call Saul video because he actively points out that he is coming into the show expecting more Breaking Bad (which you don't get from BCS because hint hint, it isn't BB) and that he knows that's not what the show provides, but he still goes on to complain about it not being BB anyways. he's just not a good content creator and i really can't understand why he has like a million and a half subs
i mean Schafrillas didn't real rag on Rio just for having s hetero relationship, he pointed out that it was dumb to have a relationship at all because if the movies bad writing causing them to have no chemistry at all and the movie hardly ever mentioning "preserving the species"

Someone was asking about Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood and whether it was highly critical of religion since it was a trope they were tired of seeing. I told them that outside of one episode early on which featured some religious zealots being manipulated by a deceitful priest, there wasn't really much of it.
