I feel your pain brother lol. Im on that same mission right now as I just got my set up for satellite coms. One thing I realized is even though i dont hear myself all the time I tend to still get through. Have fun good luck.

Great job! I have not tried any of the Tevel FM sats yet, I need to get them programmed in my portable rig.

The TEVEL birds are a true godsend in my opinion. Weeknight passes are definitely worth getting on, but even weekend day passes right now are fairly docile; it seems not many realize they’re on. Follow David DX1DG on X to be notified of transponder activations; they are on a 72 hour timer. Tevel 1 & 8 apparently DOA in orbit; 2-6 are the ones to have in your tracking software.

Thanks for posting. I built basically the same antenna. What satellite tracking app are you using?

Are the TEVEL sats using a CTCSS tone? I can't find one listed anywhere. Thanks!

      No tone

How many weights do you have to lift to hold that antenna?

Haha! The “boom” is balsa, the elements are brass rod. The whole thing, with coax, might weigh half a kilogram or one pound.
