for me personally I wanted a performance that's more focused on vocals and rapping than dancing , to show their diversity and stage presence even when their standing so this to me is TOP TIER . this was not an easy song and they pulled it off so well EVERYONE WAS INSANE
yes, that's why they always include dance breaks (on kd so far) bcs they don't want to be that tired on the choreo (though it really is tiring, still).. i was so worried when they picked this song, but again, they nailed it..
After 6 years stray kids is the only group that did a cover of ibym and they also did it in the original key. Fans of BtoB's were so impressed by skz' performance because no one even dared to touch that song. They said, even btob themselves find the song difficult to perform live because of the high notes and intense rap.
when i heard the preview (han singing) i thought it was lip sync so i was worried.. but then when it aired, i was so shocked it was actually live vocals (only felix didnt, and minho on some parts, ofc binnie when his rapping he's not afraid to let us hear the backing track when he removes his mic to tell us he always do it live) especially when innie was lying on the floor, that is so HARD to do (me as a singer).. i'm so glad melodies loved it

Not only did they emphasize his voice crack (that wasn't noticeable if they didn't point it out) but they also interviewed him alone when he was feeling down, used those clips of him crying as thumbnail, and even posted the clip on Instagram and used it for clout, AND they showed an audio clip of chan's and jeongin's conversation where the video was just showing empty couches so it's safe to assume they didn't know it was being filmed. I hate kingdom so much and even more after today, I hope skz know they're worth WAY more than that ranking of unknown so called 'experts'.. Mnet should ay least reveal the ranking process if they want their experts to stay unknown...
I'm really glad changbin spoke up about this tho, he said he'd like to know why the ranking is this way cause they were satisfied with their performance.. Hehe gives same vibes as minho asking if they can know who those experts are lmao we can trust changbin and minho to always speak their minds

I think Changmin(the MC) spoke about mnet's "evil editing" in the first episode and said that there won't be such thing(?) I can't stand this. It's just disgusting. Everything is obviously planned and we can't do anything. No matter what, they won't put or will do everything to not put skz in the first place (in those unknown experts' evaluation) The only thing we can do is to stream and vote.
I saw someone saying we're selfish for giving votes to Skz because they ranked 6th and they don't deserve it :d I'm done with this show. Anyways at least we can see these beautiful, mindblowing stages from Skz. They only have us and mnet made it obvious today

Explanation of the story of the performance if someone need it: they brought the child back to life, but sacrificed themselves for this.
Seungmin, Han and Changbin are mourning the death of this child, bring flowers to his grave. Black and white frame is past.
The clock on the floor where Jongin lies - time is running out, an idea is brewing.
As a result, Han and Minho break through the gates of hell (Felix appears). Members are bound by the angels, because skz are trying to defy the laws of life and death. After getting captured by the angels, they made a deal with the devil to bring the boy back to life. For this they should make the philosopher’s stone.
Using Han's blood, Felix creates the Philosopher's Stone.
Chan places the stone into the grave, the floor of the stage run red.
The boy stepped out of his grave into the world of the living. But Stray kids died. The philosophers stone requires a soul sacrifice, and skz have sacrificed themselves.
Also, a boy is either just the representation of something most dear to a person, or, if we associate it with the Stray kids universe, this is the representation of the pure and innocent side of them, their past selves.

Well the 8th ring was on the statues necklace (they made 8 rings while preparing) so they all wore it and the last ring is on the child’s statue.... so to me they are keeping the reference of Hyunjin.

And Idk if you noticed but when felix is "creating" this stone, on the screen behind him, there are pictures, and a stay found a face wich looks exactly like hyunjin... sooo yeah they still add some things linked to hyunjin

I can't deal with mnet. From the lack of subs for international fans, to the way they crush people for ratings. I'm very biased, but I want to know what the judges didn't like. They had vocals, rap, a clear story, dancing, props. I said this before, but I really thought this flowed really well.

That "Crack" is not a mistake for me. That's how live be. And it really matched the emotions in the performance, the story. Feeling like I.N was crying sadly for the kid.

I think i also saw somewhere that lyrics are part of criteria (?) but damn, the songs they do even on intro stage are always aligned with the performance itself, also on this song, they changed the lyrics and wrote their own (except for some parts especially the chorus) to fit the concept.. and they changed every gender-related words such as "she" to "you" to fit their interpretation (that it isnt just about a girl you love, but for every loved ones..
Mnet's a snake. We knew that from the start. This is THE BEST way to galvanize STAY into action. We are angry streaming and angry voting. But also, Felix has been coming into his own on these Kingdom stages!!
I feel like people are really angry (at least me) because it has already a lot of views (I am soo pround of them and to be a stay ), I also watch it a lot to make them understand that I loved their performance and to not let them think bc of the bad ranking that we don't like these kind of performance which is false since it was sooooo good like it really moved me, I was shaking after seeing it
I honestly don't think the experts are really looking at the vocal part of the groups, because if they did it, in these two rounds groups like BTOB would have done better, they only look at the vocal part when they make a "mistake."
It seems that the experts only judge based on personal judgment and not a professional. In Jeongin's case, he did it too well and although his voice crack I feel that it was at a precise moment where they transmitted that feeling of despair and yearned
it added emotion so I thought it was made on purpose and instead of focusing on the mistake they should have recognized stray kids's talent

see, I'm okay with not caring much about vocals, but how is it fair to not give higher rankings to groups for their vocal ability and giving lower rankings when they fail a little on it? You either value vocal ability when it's both good and bad, or don't value it at all
I didn’t even notice that it was a voice crack. Like I noticed the voice change but I didn’t acknowledge it as a voice crack? I just thought it was supposed to be like that because of how full of emotion they were. It sounded good to me
it isnt even a voice crack (for me, cause maybe the note wasnt too high) but he got off tune, that's why it's kinda "oh, he got that part messed up" to SOME ppl.. and mnet, really!?!?? i'm so pissed at mnet why they pointed that out, it isnt even a major mistake, for real..

i have no idea how they ranked so low their performance was so amazing and so different from the others and omg i was watching the livestream yesterday and i legit started crying when i saw how low they ranked like round one it was sf9 who got robbed, and this week it's skz and i'm just damaged because seeing them look so disappointed destroyed me and agh

Chan’s high notes at the end is less recognation.. seungmin high notes.. Changbin fast rap for one minute.. minho falseto.. IN sings high note when he is laydown .. Felix shocking voice (as always).. All of their voices is very good and its LIVE performance..

Again SKZ is only have Stay.. they even make the rings that written “Stay” for this performance.. they use that rings on the performance and always bring Stay with them.. let support them by streaming and voting just to show them how we lovess their performance and respect their hardwork also bravery to do a difficult song..

The voice "crack" didn't even seem like a mistake, it seemed more artistic and conveying emotion. This was a phenomenal performance. I appreciate your comment about expectations of live vs. studio. They were amazing throughout all of their performances.
As always, SKZ are just out of this world, regardless of dumb Mnet, they were amazing; Seungmin and I.N vocals, Jisung and Changbin power combo, Felix's part, everyone was just amazing. So let's support our boys ❤🥺💫

I’m back from the live stream!
I’ve said it before but I think this performance was really needed despite the ranking, as a lot of people have noticed performances that are less ‘flashy’ and have more vocals tend to not do as well, I think the judges look more at props and stunts and stuff like that which is probably why this was low because they did something different from what they did before. However, I think this performance will give skz more recognition overall they really showcased their vocals and rapping which they haven’t got to do in the other performances, it really showed non fans what they can actually do and the fact that they covered btob, who is a group that’s popular and respected in Korea will do great for them as well. Not only that they chose such a hard song that’s never been covered before since it’s difficult to do and they pulled it off their own way. This performance also showed a lot of individual talents, for me especially Seungmin with his vocals and Changbin with his rapping. Jisung is also trending everywhere because this performance made him shine the most, it showed how much of an all rounder he is and everyone who doesn’t know skz were so shocked hearing him because they thought he was just a rapper the amount of reactions he got from the other groups as well was really amazing and I hope because of their rank they don’t think that these type of performances aren’t appreciated because I personally think this is exactly what was needed to make them stand out

i’m gonna be honest i did not read your entire comment but i agree that this performance was ABSOLUTELY needed. we’ve been dying for a vocal heavy performance from skz and we finally got it, my mind was blown. mnet “experts” just need to open their 3rd eye to the talent. 🙂
i knew i had to prepare myself because during the last week it was already going around on the korean side of stay twitter that they had ranked low and they mentioned a mistake, the kids weren't all excited on bbl these past few days so that confirmed it before the episode, i was anxious but the performance was really good and the crack in jeongin's voice didn't ruin anything at all, his voice shows even more emotion and it goes with the concept plus it makes me proud that they sing live even in a song this risky/high, what i can say is that i didn't think both ranks were going to be low, because 6th in expert evaluation okay but 5th in peer evaluation was what i didn't expect, i think with the overall points they still rank 2nd and now stays can close the gap so they're 1st, and i still want them to do more vocal heavy performances like this in the future, it'd be a shame if they get discouraged and think it was bad when it wasn't at all.
yes, i hope our cheers and love would help them not think abt is so much.. i know they are disappointed cause they always wanted to show us that they do well.. but also, they know they can rely on us.. maybe they just dont want to be burden for us (to close the gap and make them win) so they wanted the evaluations to actually be good.. but as jisung said "dont expect on the rank (evaluation)" cause they know it's not on their side..

How did this place last place 😭 I’m not even saying this cuz stray kids is my ultimate group, THE STORY, THE VOCALS, THE RAP, THE PERFORMANCE. I’m not kidding, this is the second performance to EVER make me cry real tears, (the first is wanna ones last concert I CRIED SO HARD) I WAS SO PROUD OF THEM. And they did my poor jeongin SO dirtily. I hate Mnet now, how DARE they place such hard work at last?! This is the hardest stray kids probably ever had to work, they’ve never had a song SO high pitched. Minho, Jeongin, Seungmin, and Jisung REALLY WORKED their vocal chords, just for this? I get it’s not as flashy, BUT THIS WAS NOT A SIMPLE STAGE. they’re doing BTOB and stray kids SO dirtily. BTOB, such vocal legends, are being disrespected and Stray Kids really deserved so much better. I’m so sorry Stray Kids, you guys did AMAZING.
as someone who loves this song (this is definitely one of my favourites from btob) i couldn't be happier with this version, it's like a perfectly balanced combination of both worlds for me and it's such a difficult song too, they did an amazing job... as for the rankings i honestly don't even care at this point, i'm not saying other groups didn't deserve higher rank or anything like that because everyone had a great performance, but to me it seems like this whole thing is just ''which fandom(s) are we going to make angry this week'' to make more drama and make people vote... as much as i enjoy these performances i'm just waiting for this nightmare to end so i can appreciate my boys in peace

I think they all feel better now. I remember seeing a reaction of Chan to MIROH stage performance getting 10 million views. He was really happy and said he felt better. I found this wierd, but now ik why he was so happy. I.N said on bubble that he is okay now. Changbin and Minho seemed ready to fight mnet and I’m living for it. Skz is special.

I hate that they picked on Jeongin. It's like they were threatened by Stray Kids success (as I'm sure they never wanted them to win) and decided to pick on a minor thing that honestly wasn't a big deal. They made a point to tell viewers that Jeongin is the maknae of the whole kingdom lineup so singling him out like that is so unfair. It's going to backfire in their faces, just you wait.
This performance was so unlike anything they've ever done and I'm immensely proud of them for going out of their comfort zone and trying something like this out. I'm going to guess that's why the experts gave them a shit score. They were expecting the normal Stray Kids sound and didn't get it. Whatever. These guys are bloody brilliant and I couldn't be more proud of them. Skz, BTOB, and SF9 were the standouts for me and the ones I'm rooting for!

This performance was absolutely amazing , I loved the whole stage !
I think they had to replay the crack in the show to point out to the audience that there was a mistake because otherwise nobody would notice it like you said it was so small. If I was you I'd watch SKZ & BTOB's performance prep parts as their interactions were adorable.
I love the voice crack it sounds so good and it shows emotion.. i don't understand why it's being look at like a bad thing. If anything it makes his part better.

actually jeongin managed his mistake the best he could when he felt his voice was weak. that's why it's barely noticeable. I personally was aware that he made a mistakes after watching mnet cut so i was kind of looking for the mistake. In the end, it was not a big deal but i understand he felt bad especially since our boys were ranked 6th for their performance. Nevertheless i'm proud of the work they did on BtoB' song. It was not an easy one, they really challenged themselves on this one and it deserves a big ovation for me.
Personally I thought they did great mostly because, I knew how hard it is to do this song. So the fact that Stray Kids did such great job with a song that can be seen as vocally challenging made me happy. Another thing my Melody and Stay heart was happy with the way both groups did each others songs. Also I'll Be Your Man is one of my favorite BtoB songs and I would be happy if you watch the original music video. I like you I barely noticed the voice crack that I.N did and I would not noticed it if MNET had not uploaded that behind the scenes video of him crying. I just hope he knows that Stays are proud of him and that he should not blame himself for the ranking that they got. Also I bias all the groups on kingdom and I was happy to see all the groups switch their songs with each other. Good Luck to all of them.

I completely agree with you! by the way, I don't know if you noticed but they didn't have any back track vocals, they were not backed up by anything, it was 100% live vocals, most of the time artists use back vocals so it sounds better in case they mess up a bit or in case they run out of breath.
Not only did they choose not to use any back track but they changbin also rapped the amount of two rappers parts all for himself

Yeah they recorded and repeated that tiny crack which just sounded stylistic didn’t even sound like he really attempted cause he knew his voice would give out. They shoved a camera in his face, separated him from the group and interviewed him about the while thing while he cried again, they used audio of a backstage conversation while they weren’t even in the view of the camera so kinda stole a private conversation and then continued to single him out infront of the other group which he just didn’t answer and let Changbin answer

Firstly, I absolutely love your content! I agree with your stance on the whole kingdom thing, I was so disappointed in how mnet handled that.. I have a video suggestion: “skz love their maknae” by fourth wright! It’s definitely made my day after kingdom today, even if you don’t react to it, the video was such a healing video!! Stay hydrated, safe and rested!

it was really low of them shoving the camera to jeongin's face and showing the private conversation between chan and jeongin at the back stage while chan was comforting jeongin
was so shocked when I saw the results!! Literally the episode before BtoB said that this song was too hard and one of the members said that if they chose that song then he wasn't singing that week. Like WHAT!! and they kept the same key and everyone sang it so well!! Honestly one of my favorite performances ever.

I also can’t believe they got 5th from gods effect like holy shit that has genuinely become my favorite performance ever on the same level as the mama victory song. Mnet can’t do much but I will admit they have good stages and designs but that’s literally all they have

It wasn't a voice crack, he just backed out of a sustained belt. He was probably too nervous and took a safer route. A lot of singers do that.
This performance was stunning! It deserved to be in the top.

i notice the crack maybe because i used to see btob crack their voice but his crack voice blend well with the song when they perform...they did well ... i like their performamce

this performance for me was the best and most powerful of any of the KD stages so far. i don’t think even the voice crack was the reason they ranked low, the “experts” (since we have no idea who they are) seem to disregard vocal performance completely, opting for spectacle over technical. i heard another reactor say that slow songs in RTK always ranked at the bottom as well. the impressive vocals SKZ executed here live, and mostly without a backing track, I think neither helped nor hurt them. the judges are clearly looking for another style.

Jeongin's voice cracked in the end, but I found it fitting and I was too invested to even notice because the storyline is just amazing

The only reason I can think of why they placed lower is bc of the concept. The performance itself was incredible.. but I felt this concept wasn’t as strong as the previous. Watching it live without subs, I was confused about the “story” they were trying to tell. With the other groups their concepts were translated better.. so you easily knew what they were going for, despite the language barrier.
I think there were zero flaws in the performance but I just have a feeling they’ll get a critique on the concept

His voice cracked near the end when he came out to sing over Changbin's rap while Han and Seungmin were harmonizing
And also just to say (and this isn't to discredit Stray Kids in any way, love them to death) that being in last doesn't necessarily signify that they were bad, it just means that in the judges eyes at least everyone else did better. I watched all the other performances and I personally didn't notice any mistakes in theirs, but I did notice Jeongin's voice crack, which means they definitely did. I don't think it should have made their score as low as it was, but I also don't know how each aspect of the performance weighs in the overall evaluation.
If I remember correctly though, the participant votes got them up to 5th at least (but I might be wrong since I just glimpsed it somewhere and have yet to check the actual episode).
Tbh the only reason I really noticed Jeongin’s voice crack is because I was already looking for it with the way mnet was setting it up, they made it obvious that something was going to happen and that Jeongin was upset in fact they made it a big deal and kept teasing it for a while so most of us knew something was going to happen so we searched for it. I think honestly if nothing was said and Jeongin wasn’t upset at himself barely anyone would bat an eye, it wouldn’t have been much of a deal at all because I heard other groups voice crack but nothing was mentioned and no one cared, it’s just sadly what a lot of people were focusing on
I agree, except for the voice crack being noticeble. The video they posted on their channel with IN crying let people automatically looking for the mistake that caused him to react like that. Most people that didn't watch that clip didn't seem to notice anything, it's the kind of thing that only the ones that are usually picky about vocals would notice.
also im not gonna lie at all, i legit didnt know what went wrong until i came to twitter bc i was so confused why they were placed 5th🥲 i was just so immersed in the story and the emotions that their vocals and raps conveyed and i almost sobbed when i found out the whole plot itself like genuinely, i am so impressed. they popped off

Being truly honest about IN´s little voice crack, if it werent for the comments i read before seeing the performance, i wouldnt have realised it was a mistake. But when i saw him so down i realized it wasnt his intention. If mnet hadnt made a whole thing about it (asking him about this issue, showing him down and crying) many stays would have been like "well, he put some emotion there"
