How does this not have more likes? It's phenomenal, I've heard this Carole King song covered by so many people, and even James Taylor's version isn't as amazing as Dusty's. Yes, they feel totally different. His feels quiet, easy, and calm. Dusty's grabs you in your heart and soul, squeezing your emotions, and doesn't let go until the last drifting refrain from the back up vocalists. Anyone would be lucky to have Dusty as a friend. She means it. (Love that she sings back up on her own lead, the richness and layering is smooth.) If she would've been the first to release this as a single, it would've been Platinum. Just wow! Dusty could sing every song King and Goffin ever wrote. Dusty had said Carole King and Gerry Goffin were here favorites, along with Bacharach/David, and Randy Newman.
Her singing background is what makes this version so special. Others, it just lead and self-centered. This one: she is sharing her emotion with you as well taking lead. The ending of the song "You got a Friend, you got, you got, you got a friend" warms my heart.
I wish she’d had a friend to help her through those rough years she experienced in Los Angeles …I believe she was a tortured soul. Shame her time there was not what she’d hoped for. I hope she is at peace now 🙏♥️❤️
Just starting to learn sound recording, so am totally impressed by how well each element springs out, even from my relatively cheap PC speakers -- every instrument, plus Dusty's voice. And how much clearer the stereo is different parts more clearly in the left or right channel, than I think you'd hear in more modern recordings.
Dusty❤

CHIMMING AND CHARMING DUSTY TRACK!....////
Lovely !
Dusty's version is the best.
Couldn't argue with that that opinion, Davan
I agree. Nobody put the emotion into Carole King's songs like Dusty.
I think it was Dusty singing backup in a separate track.
could that be carole king singing backup??
