Ok, I see and acknowledge that prices are clearly higher, but why not look into deals and special offers? For example I went to Mcds for the first time in 6 months last week. I Bought two big macks using the receipt from 6 months ago to get buy one get one sandwich free. The total with tax came to $5.90, I brought my own energy drink into the restaurant where I sat and ate. My friend with me ordered the exact same thing with another receipt/coupon I had and got a free cup of ice water. It was good and always is the few times a year that I go. Why would anyone pay full price? It has never made sense to me and almost all MacDonalds have this offer on the receipts. Some offer bogo item of your choice. Things are bad but today I ate two home cooked burgers with fries. The fries were $1.40 a pound the beef was $1.99 a pound, I made my own sauce and again drank an energy drink that I paid 76 cents for. I have left over meat and fries. The time involved total was about 15 min. Less it would have taken me to drive to a fast food, wait, and drive back to work or home. I have never understood people who spend a lot at fast food or even worse as stations. The thinking has to fundamentally change not prices.
That receipt code is only valid for 30 days, so you got a bit lucky there. Your energy drink was not free, it was actually more expensive than buying a drink from McDonalds. In any case, McDonalds has majorly increased profits while continuing to increase food prices and claim that they can't afford to pay higher wages. I am not sure why you are defending them, but even if you had a good reason, your defense doesn't hold weight. You bought a fast food burger for $6 that is mostly made of bread and walked away feeling like you had gotten a deal. That is EXACTLY what they wanted you to think.
There is always a cheaper option. I was just comparing purchases that were similar at different food chains. I know that Burger King had a few good deals. Thank you for sharing. Also most of the time we eat at home.

Let me clarify a couple things, 1) I eat out a few times a year due to the high prices and low quality/quantity of food you get. 2) When I do eat out I try to do it for the lowest prices possible by using deals and coupons. 3) I bought two Big Macs for the price of one. Therefore the price was just under $3 each making it the best option that day IMO. I followed it up with an example of eating at home is better, cheaper, and faster and then provided math for that. 4) the energy drink which I said I paid 76 cents for (including tax) is cheaper than any drink item outside of water at mcds, that I know of. It is also a high caffeine zero sugar option that I choose as my one daily splurge. Next I am not sure how my post came across as defending mcds. I am trying to state with more info than likely needed that buying at any restaurants doesn't make much sense to me.Outside of certain occasions when traveling, or meeting someone at a restaurant a few times a year. I remember the days when they had buy one get one for a quarter. Like when your local MLB or NHL team won a game. I'm not sure if they still do it anymore. Their hashbrowns are like 3 bucks a pop now. Those use to be 50 cent when I was a kid. I'm sure they were way cheaper before my time 😅
Hello Mr. Scott . . . . the youtube algorithm brought me to your channel . . . and i'm subscriber #201 . . . sometime ago McDonald's made the big announcement that their burgers would be freshly cooked for every order . . . and i found the patties on their double quarter pounder to be quite delicious . . . however, they don't taste that way anymore to me . . . either they're no longer cooking the patties freshly . . . or they're using lesser quality beef & therefore less tasty beef . . . or it's a combination of both - - to save time & money. . . i'm guessing it's both . . . but that's just my guess . . . either way, what can we do? . . . not muuch . . . that's just the way the world works, hmmmm? . . . . i've hit the bell to get your channel notifications & will be watching each time you post . . . . . . good luck with your channel . . . . . . . . . . McDonalds is the safe place for any American traveling overseas but why miss the opportunity to explore more flavors and support the local economy? Just saying 🤷♂
Fast food joints got popular because they were cheap and fast. Now they're pricey and slow. So just stop going to them and start cooking at home. Easy peasy.
I liked Mcdonalds until i went to Arbys, I cant speak for every Arbys but the one I went to made everything fresh to order, and it was 100x times better.
These incredibly high prices are gonna make the economy crash. And, you didn't even get cheese, so you kindof got screwed. Did they mess up your order? Shouldn't be that much.
