Welcome to the club, there are many so underrated musicians, it's unbelievable! If there would be no internet, I honestly don't know, what would I listen to. Radio is mostly about these lame famous "so-called-singers/bands", while the real good music is keeping away from us... God bless RUclips :)
Absolutely awesome, and the show yesterday at the Calling Festival, in Clapham Common, London, got them a lot more fans many dinosaur rockers feeling this was something to hold dear as well, which shows their appeal. And this song of all the songs they played did it for me tenfold.
The best music with a great singer in 2012 is the Jezabels. I am hoping she makes another compilation for my ears. And... forks, please recommend me another similar musics as the Jezabels. :)
Zero dislikes. Their hands were quivering with ecstatic joy when they tried to hit the like button , right before they died of sonic euphoria. So, consider all the dislikes as super mega likes. ;)
484900 that is the total acount of times that I have heard this!! and yes, she is hot, the drummer amazing, the band... neither a single word and also I am here because Danny, but forgot him after this music!!!
everytime i hear good music on youtube, the only comments are about how not-mainstream the song is, about who listens good music, the very definition of good music and all the other things, that shouldn't be considered thinking about while listening music..
Lyrics Bright white cockatoo, Baby how I ponder your Shadow... How you rip me off my feet, Rape me of my time to sleep Shallow... And from the sky, she speaks to me And through her melody, lingers. I said, 'No, I don't want your love, no, I don't care anymore, finger.' Though I was equipped with a rainship, And a fireship and a starship, all come to dance. No one told me the end of the line, Could be only emptiness. That would swallow all my love, I fell beneath the company, Now shall I sleep in a bed of blood, Down in the deep, the rolling sea... And in my angst for cool hips Or softness Or morning glow confidence, I took it to the dog, Took it to the plants, Took it to the beach, I took it to the shark... I found tenderness. But when I took it to the sky, To the bright white cockatoo on a satellite, She looked down on all my years, But with a click of a finger, She goes higher than the call for children, Higher than the stand that kills it, Should've slipped it off, I should've known there and then. But she swallowed all my love, I fell beneath the company, And now I sleep in a bed of blood, Down in the deep, the rolling sea... Oh you roll, roll over me. Yeah, you roll over me. Oh pristine, my hopeless thing.
The second point I wanted to make was the following: you're talking about mainstream radios... Try tuning in on a dedicated radio, like one that does only a few genres, and you'll find that they do pass little pearls from time to time. It's happened to me often enough to discover amazing songs on forsaken stations no one (and I mean not even God) knows of. Which is, imo, still better than discovering an amazing song on a lame commercial (as is growingly the case, unfortunately). Cheers!
The main voice is outstanding, guitar standart U2 styl the same for the piano, drummer slightly overaverage but together they sound great. Potential new big thing.
@kindahottish I'm thinking you took that comment a little too serious he just pointed out that no-one had disliked it, but nevertheless I agree completely with your opinion.
Look up You Am I, Feverdream, The Church, Spy Vs. Spy, Magic Dirt, Hex, Hunters & Collectors, Love Of Diagrams, Ups And Downs, Vanilla Chainsaws, Trial Of The Bow, The Crystal Set, The Go-Betweens, Not Drowning, Waving, etc.
I'm a few years late to be a great fan but, even in 2023 i can tell that your music style is awesome
Per me è musica da SOGNO ,AMO LA MUSICA PER VIVERE ,THE JEZABELS
Meet this one in 2011s early spring. Perfect harmony with melting snow and ice and shiny Sun.
Music that speaks with an intellectual attitude.Jezabels.....don't stop. Your sound and style can be heard all the way from TeXaS.

Love their music, "Dark Storm" is my favourite song for now and i really would like to see them perfome someday. Music like flying.
I'm a keyboard player and the amount of inspiration I get from these guys after one song ugh heaven
You should listen to Tori Amos. Also, check out the song Awakenings by Yes.
just gorgeous, her voice is sublime, brings tears to my eyes...the best thing I have heard in ages.....:)
Listen to the song "Horsehead" there is no song that provokes emotions as easy as that one. Amazing. Undiscovered gem.
Just saw them live in Hamburg. So good!
Her voice is absolute perfection.
My favourite Jezabels song, hands down.
seriously when ever I hear a new Jezabels song I get so many emotions dwell in me such an amazing band!
The energy emanating from this piece is extraordinary. It soars over the water.
Cockatoos don't fly that far.
Absolutely awesome, and the show yesterday at the Calling Festival, in Clapham Common, London, got them a lot more fans many dinosaur rockers feeling this was something to hold dear as well, which shows their appeal. And this song of all the songs they played did it for me tenfold.

I saw them a couple of times at Peats Ridge, this is bringing back fond memories of those Halcyon days. R.I.P Peats Ridge.
her voice and the piano complimenting each other makes this song for me
Her voice is haunting... in the absolute best way possible.
Fantastico sound ,love love love this sound
This drummer!
Awesome
No way 38 people truly dislike this song. That's utter craziness. Nonsense. Don't and won't believe it.
Absolutely agreed. no way people are listening to this without getting a goosesuit all over their unworthy bodies
Zero dislikes. Their hands were quivering with ecstatic joy when they tried to hit the like button , right before they died of sonic euphoria. So, consider all the dislikes as super mega likes. ;)
Remember, some people think the world is flat too.

I don't know what it is, but there's a sound in this song that always makes me think my Skype went off.
The voice reminds me incredibly of Lisa Hannigan!

this song is very very nice
Lyrics
Bright white cockatoo,
Baby how I ponder your
Shadow...
How you rip me off my feet,
Rape me of my time to sleep
Shallow...
And from the sky, she speaks to me
And through her melody, lingers.
I said, 'No, I don't want your love, no, I don't
care anymore, finger.'
Though I was equipped with a rainship,
And a fireship and a starship, all come to dance.
No one told me the end of the line,
Could be only emptiness.
That would swallow all my love,
I fell beneath the company,
Now shall I sleep in a bed of blood,
Down in the deep, the rolling sea...
And in my angst for cool hips
Or softness
Or morning glow confidence,
I took it to the dog,
Took it to the plants,
Took it to the beach,
I took it to the shark...
I found tenderness.
But when I took it to the sky,
To the bright white cockatoo on a satellite,
She looked down on all my years,
But with a click of a finger,
She goes higher than the call for children,
Higher than the stand that kills it,
Should've slipped it off,
I should've known there and then.
But she swallowed all my love,
I fell beneath the company,
And now I sleep in a bed of blood,
Down in the deep, the rolling sea...
Oh you roll, roll over me.
Yeah, you roll over me.
Oh pristine, my hopeless thing.
One of my favourite Jezebels tracks - pity they're not up to this any more.

thats how i got into the jezabels
but 3:37... just amazing
@JtheMexican821 my trick is i just balance my love of music like this with bands like mammoth grinder and high on fire
@kurjast
The vocal style actually reminds me even more of Emily Bezar, who's like Tori's evil Jazz twin. Good stuff in any case. :)
@daltonkirby you´ve to listen to Funkhaus Europa....then you´ll learn to love radio again!!!
I love it!
The moment I find this persons music is the moment her show becomes sold out in my city :(
Yeah does anyone know where to find the lyrics?
