This is a progression game, with no final end point.
So if they do not keep giving us things to progress on, and meaningful and reasonable ways to accomplish that progression, then the game will suffer.
The current issue is that the players seem to be having tremendous difficulty progressing. There is a lot to unpack here, and the story can be different for different players.
Hydra changes hit hard because players view it as a step backwards, rather than as a reset opportunity to tackle what is essentially new content. That's a tough one to power through for many.

and godforge has made no effort to improve their nausea inducing graphics - I do have motion sickness and it does make me sick to watch people's videos on it - even from fateless themselves

Your ignorance is showing.
I wouldn't get too excited expecting any changes.
They bought a profitable company and will expect it to continue to be so. Management is all likely to stay the same and everything just continue as it always has.
People always talked about them being owned by a gambling company..... it's a stupid point, Paylarium has been in the whale milking business for 15 years long before they had anything to do with a slot machine maker, who owns Paylarium doesn't change anything. Expect the milking to continue.
