But it has alot to do with the approach to the situation and even some people have calm tones when explaining still aren’t heard. When I said people know what they are doing I was referring to the communication… so I understand your point but I wasn’t saying that. Some people just don’t want to talk about it or automatically jump to conclusions

I agrée communication is key but I also want to add that some people are not good communicators and will then blame other people for not “listening.” I had an ex-friend tell me she felt like she was walking on eggshells with me, but she never told me what it was I did or said that caused her to feel this way. I thought it was her anxiety (that she said she suffered from). In hindsight, I shouldve digged a bit deeper with her, but I genuinely thought her feelings were a “her” issue because she didn’t communicate what I did to make her feel that way & I thought I was genuinely a good friend to her. People are responsible for their actions, not your feelings, and I felt like she was making me feel responsible for how she felt when she already suffered from her own mental health issues. It’s like someone blaming you for their panic attacks (she also did this) but not telling you how you contribute to them. How am I suppose to fix the problem when you can’t communicate what exactly the problem is? I can’t “fix” someone who struggles with emotional regulation & instead would rather blame you, instead of doing the work to actually figure out what their trigger is. So that’s why I’m a bit skeptical when people say “I told them what the issue was” because, did you really? Were you clear in what the problem was and focused on what the friend DID that contributed to the problem? Because people do project their issues onto others, and if you can’t tell me what I did or said that made you feel a certain way, I’m going to assume this is a “you” issue and not me.
Oh and you are still HER! THE IT girl with or without the weight gain . Ppl are miserable and this is why ppl are distancing themselves from posting as often because who wants to be continuously attacked for living their life . I gained my womanly weight at about 29 or 30. I knew I looked amazing (especially because I was skinny through most of my teens and 20’s) The comments are sooo disturbing and they can change how you perceive yourself but I am here to tell you, You look beautiful and and remember you are blooming. Yea people use “ grown woman weight” as an excuse to let themselves go. Grown woman weight is when your body fills out not when u gain an extra 50 pounds because of unhealthy habits

(31 now) I experienced the worst times , starting drinking wine and eating my emotions for 2years..I gained so much of weight!!! I lost it all now but In our late 20s, 30s we have to move our body and limit or avoid alcohol all together. Walking 10k steps, no carbs will have you snatched in no time. Sometimes life will do it, but I personally want to be my healthiest.
I’m literally the minimalist friend. I feel like I’ve always been that way but as I experienced betrayal in friendships it’s made me recoil so much. I realize all my friends aren’t low maintenance like me and I want to be a better friend to them but sometimes I’m dealing with my own stuff and don’t have enough to pour. Learning balance truly is an art
Same! I really resonated with what Aaliyah said. I have two older brothers and was the only girl, with a single mom that worked full time. I was alone a lot in my childhood/youth & had to learn how to be my own friend FIRST. This has caused me to not be dependent on people and I find that female friendships need a lot of emotional codependency that I just can’t relate to. It’s hard finding other women who are secure in their independence & don’t take things so personally if you don’t talk all the time or share EVERY detail of your life with them. I just want good conversations and no drama :(

I didn't want to say anything before because I didn't want it to sound shady, but it did kind of seem (in the past) like Justin really only made an appearance, when you were in between relationships. Its interesting that you would bring that up. It almost feels like you guys are outgrowing each other, but it is sweet that you popped up. Obviously romantic relationships are important, but they do seem to take precedence at times. I think its important not to make a romantic relationship a crutch.

I think friendship absolutely requires effort and expectation. I nurture my friendship just as much as my romantic and that’s where people fall short imo. You can absolutely reciprocate with a high maintenance friend and still be yourself. Everybody goes through things, it’s all about communication as well so both parties can be in alignment. Sometimes you have to take the extra mile to show people you care. Everybody doesn’t love the same.

I def can understand this when you are focus on other things going on in your life, its hard to dedicate time to your friends while trying to fix other parts of yourself & in your life, it can be overwhelming to split those times in half for everyone. I begin to enjoy my own company more and doing things alone, whether I was with friends or not. But relationships can make you stray away from your friends sometimes, got to have some balance. My friends we have check ins and friend intervention when sometimes we may not be being good friends to each other or understand why /who feels from what! but i am a low maintenance friend as well like i don't talk to many people but when we link we are still good friends & be back like we never left. Respectfully, why would your friend share such a negative message? Idk, I don't share hurtful things with people. Let's be honest weight gain is difficult to process for women, especially when you have been a size for years but give yourself grace. Do you know how much the women's body goes through? Definitely feel this!! I lost a friend due to miscommunication and unexplained “expectations” that they taught I was suppose to do without us ever communicating it. It was like you were supposed to do XYZ. Also a host of other stuff. But you live and you learn.
I honestly think the loner thing is a cancer thing I have 6 siblings and grew up with them same household and I still found myself alone and wanting/needing to be alone and to this day it hasn’t changed. The only ppl I be wanting around me 24/7 is my kids now.
Good friends understand that you guys won’t speak all the time or even for long periods of time but they don’t hold a grudge. As a public figure, people will always have good and bad things to say so the people around you have a duty to protect your feelings and not bring every negative comment to your attention. I def can understand this when you are focus on other things going on in your life, its hard to dedicate time to your friends while trying to fix other parts of yourself & in your life, it can be overwhelming to split those times in half for everyone. I begin to enjoy my own company more and doing things alone, whether I was with friends or not. But relationships can make you stray away from your friends sometimes, got to have some balance. My friends we have check ins and friend intervention when sometimes we may not be being good friends to each other or understand why /who feels from what! but i am a low maintenance friend as well like i don't talk to many people but when we link we are still good friends & be back like we never left. Let's be honest weight gain is difficult to process for women, especially when you have been a size for years but give yourself grace. Do you know how much the women's body goes through?
