@@VioletTheWalmartBag it’s just how copyright works. if the cover artist doesn’t get the approval from the original artist to post their cover, they can get removed for violating copyright laws. it’s to keep people from claiming the work as their own original work and profiting off of the original artists works. a lot of the times artists are pretty fair and them and their labels agree to let the cover artist post their work in return for part of the profit or even without said portion. other times they’re more strict and stingy with even cut up sample of their songs in other peoples works. pinkpanthress is a good example. she got one of her songs removed from spotify for using a sample of a michael jackson song for her original (original lyrics and i believe the sample was added too to make it more of her own thing like samples usually are but don’t quote me on that part) because the label didn’t like that she used the song as even just a sample. labels are very choosy with who can and can’t use their artists work as a sample or cover in a place they can profit from it.
