As much as I hate EA, and as long as I put off buying fallen order, I can still admit this looks pretty decent. Still could be better imo from what I've seen in the very least in customization. But I haven't seen much. Maybe there will be a good amount at release this time unlike fallen order
Only thing I want that hasn’t been shown yet is traditional Jedi cloak and robes. Knowing that we can change the color of our outfits freely makes me want this even more!
Really hope there aren't any levels built to be one-way loops like several of the maps in the first game. That was one aspect of that game's design that made scavenging for collectibles kind of insufferable in some cases.
I agree. The map sometimes made it appear that there should be multiple ways to get to a spot, but the truth is that only one way worked. So it was a guessing game at times to know which path to take.
Excellent video. You managed to elucidate on a lot of questions the trailer left unanswered. My main question is how is the difficulty setting compared to the first game? I smacked the shiznit out of fallen order on grandmaster multiple times while having a blast and I would be glad to hear they added another higher tear of difficulty.
There’s a Star Wars game that I used to play all the time where you could play as Darth Vader and I also remember there being a segment with you being able to play as Chewbacca

I loved Fallen Order and was soooo looking forward to this follow up - but it appears Survivor is PS5 ONLY.... I understand they want to use the new tech features, but to drop a large consumer/commerical base seems less business sense, why reduce the available maret and restirct the oncome of many £££$$$$ etc.
So far I'm just a bit disappointed in the style choices, I personally prefer the Clone War era aesthetic with the half jedi, half clone armor even if it was a preorder bonus but for some reason they went with...Han solo? I miss the days of Forced Unleashed where you had such a wide verity of skins from Sith, to Stormtrooper, Jango fett and C3P0...Now you just get 10 different colors of a poncho and the "outlaw" look. They have thousands of options but they seem to settle on a very specific style and sit on it. Now, the claim was that it "ruins immersion" but EA threw that out the second they had Darth Maul, Grievous, Dooku and Bossk on the same field at the same time while my Clone uses a First order rifle...So...why not just leave the options available and let the player worry about their own immersion level. One of the best mods for Fallen Order was playing the game as Din Djarin...Yeah i mean give me a set of Mandalorian armor (preferably Boba Fett) to run around in instead of.."Solo" era Han solo....one of the few Star Wars movies that actually LOST money...
For me seeing the 1st gameplay footage got me hooked and I preordered the deluxe edition but seeing just how much more there will be in this game now and all the side things you can do like the garden, buying cosmetics, and music in the bar I think that's really cool and can't wait to play it and find out what else there is to do and explore.
I really hope NG+ is an actual NG+ where the skills you took the time to unlock in your first playthrough are transferred too and not just cosmetic items like in the first game. I was so disappointed when i found out and i couldn't bring myself to play again for awhile
The first game was literally about Cal regaining his connection with the force and his abilities so you can’t really have a NG+ with all the abilities. This game isn’t about finding his force abilities again so I’m 99% sure it’ll be a real NG +
Since they showed in the footage that you can customize both saber hilts individually I think it's very likely that you can also assign to different blade colors.
I know people hated the poncho look but I still hope there are a few different ponchos in there as part of the customization and they haven't removed it altogether. It's a dope look! Especially some of the early concept art they had with a longer cloak poncho
If people hated the poncho it's not because of the poncho itself, it's the fact the only customisation options for cal is like 30 different colours for the poncho lol
I’m loving the user interface and the 3D navigational system. The new integrated world interactions like the music selection, customizations, shops, and creature taming makes this an ultimate Starwars exp. Reminds me of Hogwarts Legacy in space a bit.

I'm also wondering about the Map UI. That's my main concern from the last game. Getting around was a chore because the map was confusing at times. You could see your destination on the map but how to actually get there was confusing at times.

I can't wait for this game but I really can't wait for one day to get a fully open world Jedi game that respects physics of a lightsaber and doesn't use it as a glowing bat. Each slash some cut through and slice off limbs of all enemies. I feel like Sucker Punch would do this IP right and get lightsaber combat down perfectly like they did with Ghost of Tsushima.
I am a real sucker for customization. I was already sold on the outfits but now that we can give him a variety of facial hair and hair styles is gonna be amazing

Looking good, I am getting a little tired by all these AAA games doing the same thing, same progression tree with a different look, same armor/outfit system with a different look, same map style with a different look. Same NPC quests, This looks just as GoW, Horizon, GoT etc.. but with a different theme and story. Where is the innovation ?

If no one would preorder there would be more incentive for publishers to stop pressuring devs to rush releases. So yea, preordering is actually bad. (Not saying you shouldn’t be excited for new releases or that this game is gonna be bad though.)

Couple of things:. 1. Beards are overrated, every Jedi needs a razor. Clean cut Cal for the win. 2. I want a hoodie or something with a hood. 3. Orange Crossguard lightsaber.....period. when you can enable dismemberment. The Crossguard saber is gonna look absolutely brutal.
My least favorite thing about Fallen Order is they force you to use the double edge Lightsaber. I never liked the look of that super long double edge Lightsaber dangling from my hip as I walked though the game. I wanted a normal one, they should of given you a choice, double edge Lightsaber or regular Lightsaber with maybe 25% more damage. Seems they listened to fans because now you CAN use a normal Lightsaber, among others.
The world of star wars is so rich. All the aliens and factions and creatures. Think about a mercenary mmo.. just endless. Or a skyrim style, 4 planet, 4 big maps, exploration rpg game. Or a big action game like this one. The possibilities are quite literally endless. What a shame the Disney movies and series have been. Just so limited so short-sighted. They could have done anything but chose half baked woke remakes and spin offs.
Let me just remind everyone here that cares about instant unfettered access to their games, that this is EA we're talking about here and their EA app will routinely deny you access to said games if you haven't logged in for fraction of a microsecond (that's an exaggeration). I've recently been in the middle of offline gaming sessions when the EA app conveniently forgets my account info forcing me out of my game and denying me access to an item that I've purchased but now apparently don't have complete ownership over. Now, for those of you who may be saying, 'Stop whining and jus' login.', let me point out that the internet may go down at some point for various reason or EA may go out of business. Then what? You have no way of using something that you've spent hard earned money on. Be careful about spending money with EA.

This is the 3rd vid I’ve watched about a “hands on preview” and literally no one is speaking on the jank that riddled the first game. Did you all have to sign an NDA or something? The worst part about the first one was the jank regarding the controls ,combat, and platforming at times, why would you not address that? I mean it’s great we now have even more options for cosmetics that all have no impact what so ever on gameplay. For a game directly taking its combat inspirations from souls, and the first having poor execution of that combat, I would think the first thing waiting to come out of any reviews mouth is whether or not that’s been fixed.
I think they should’ve straight up copied Ghost of Tsushima’s combat style. We are hitting are enemies way too much with a lightsaber. That’s just dumb. Cal’s a Jedi that should absolutely be shredding things effortlessly.
I am still skeptical of this game. I wasn't impressed by Fallen Order...it wasn't a bad game, but it also didn't feel like a full game. If that makes any sense. It was impressive, but the story felt forced and missing content. Combat got repetitive (due to lack of enemy types) and most of the game played like a more graphically realistic legend of Zelda game. But it still felt more like an impressive demonstration of ability than a game to me.

I loved that in GoT of Tsushima once I got the hang of it and muscle memory. Only thing I didn't like was the long inescapable cutscenes

Cosmetics is a huge upgrade compared to Fallen Order's 25+ reskin ponchos

This is the 3rd vid I’ve watched about a “hands on preview” and literally no one is speaking on the jank that riddled the first game. Did you all have to sign an NDA or something? The worst part about the first one was the jank regarding the controls ,combat, and platforming at times, why would you not address that? I mean it’s great we now have even more options for cosmetics that all have no impact what so ever on gameplay. For a game directly taking its combat inspirations from souls, and the first having poor execution of that combat, I would think the first thing waiting to come out of any reviews mouth is whether or not that’s been fixed.
I think they should’ve straight up copied Ghost of Tsushima’s combat style. We are hitting are enemies way too much with a lightsaber. That’s just dumb. Cal’s a Jedi that should absolutely be shredding things effortlessly.

I am still skeptical of this game.
I wasn't impressed by Fallen Order...it wasn't a bad game, but it also didn't feel like a full game. If that makes any sense. It was impressive, but the story felt forced and missing content.
Combat got repetitive (due to lack of enemy types) and most of the game played like a more graphically realistic legend of Zelda game. But it still felt more like an impressive demonstration of ability than a game to me.
First game was Sekiro based SW game.
This one is Sekiro+Elden ring SW based game. Hah.
PS: Almost. Looks more like metroidvania.
