- In this Video, I add a leaf spring to beef up the suspension on my Astro van. This kit is fairly cheap and pretty easy to install. I beefed up my suspension to take care of the sagging rear on my van this kit definitely Helped with that. These kit's will go on other vehicle's as well.
I put all new shocks on my Astro and although short bumps get absorbed better, the overall suspension is still a bit soft. Your video motivated me to add leaf assist springs. Thanks.
No problem, glad you found it helpful!:) my rear left side side of my van sags a little, new shocks as well-I don’t get it! But it really doesn’t effect much, other than bother me when it’s parked in a way that shows that off lol
hello can you tell me what brand it is so that it goes up 3 inches please
Just did this and i got 3” lift. Does exactly what I wanted
Thanks for the comment, every once in awhile somebody will tell me I did this install wrong, But this is the correct way to mount those! Ps. it helped me out as well, but for some reason my van still sag's on the passenger rear side!
I had the same problem with my safari and went online to rock auto and installed ac Delco air shocks for like 80 bucks so now I just use my little air compressor to go up many inches 😅
I used these on my 95 Vandura gained about a inch and doesn't sway like a boat better handling might add another already have it so might as well slap it on
good stuff mate
Nice van
Thanks!

I can’t remember friend, I’m pretty sure I got it online from autozone website.
Well in Matt ,your a clever man my friend ☠👍👍👍⛏💙
I think the designer of the device is far more clever....
@@shovelheadneckbolts is that a fact.? Me scurvy. Arrrrrr. Well if all you can do is leave a negative comment on my comment. Well that's for losers with no content. Get a life man. I wish you all the best in finding something that your truly passionate about. Who knows you might get a few followers 🏴☠️⛏️👍💙
@@piratedredger1857 Well seriously,,, how clever is it to install a device for its very intended purpose..! Yet sure how very clever....
@@shovelheadneckbolts you must have a wire lose my friend. I'm sure there are many I could say butt have a nice day
@@piratedredger1857 Well if he had bolted an exhaust manifold to the leaf spring to gain height and an increased payload, THAT would be clever...
Does this help strengthen the spings to carry more weight
barry cowan Yes
According to the box that these came in it allows for a extra 1500 pounds of weight not sure I’d put that to test but it they do def help.
Alright probably try em im hauling anywhere from 275 gallons of water or less and 2 people and other stuff lol it bottoms out in the rear some
@@SGastoina if that is all you might like air bags added instead.
@@danielbuckner2167, check air bag prices before going wild. They cost a lot more than the 70 bucks mentioned here.
I think it goes on the rear portion of the springs is that what u did
Nope. That’s the correct way, listed in the directions.
Matt Broquard I got the same kit my directions with one spring noted to be placed in the rear
@@Thedevontree Not the same kit I bought then, or the directions got changed which i doubt, here's another video of the same install by another guy,ruclips.net/video/29tMvVkEZ4E/видео.html
Imma do this to my 97 astro. I think for this kit u r suppose to install one in the back n one in the front opposite side.
Do these work on fiberglass single leaf?
I do not know my friend, I just looked these up for my make and model and they were a fit, so I purchased them. Hope this helps!
That is installed wrong, the add-a-leaf is supposed to mount center over the axle and pull up evenly on the front and back of the leafs.the way you have it now doesn't do anything.
Theses are in installed right-Go to 58 second mark on this video I'll be adding two sets as well to mine- ruclips.net/video/HgLt--4-Y6M/видео.html
That is the installation procedure in the instructions. It is correct.
Came down to say the same but apparent these are to stiffen the springs not to add an over weight leaf like normal ones which make your suspension progressive which maintains normal ride until a heavy load is applied which is what I would prefer but maybe some folks like it bouncy.
Dude that was almost certainly more like 28-7/16"
Ha-Ha ! (-:
