Similar results with my ‘14 Eco Escape. Didn’t have issues when I was the primary driver with longer drive times. When the significant other drove - 3 miles to work and around town, had higher fuel, and silicone also.

Thanks for the video. I was hoping the Triax would’ve had more moly and boron in it. They advertise those two in their additive package

BSL does not test fuel dilution directly and is well known to be under reported. The industry standard is Gas Chromatography. If done by GC, the percentage would be 6-9%. I have sent the same sample to Three labs, BSL under report by 2-3x. If you have a GDI engine, need to use a different lab.

I did 14,000 miles on RP HPS over the course of last year.
Yes they told me not to run it past 5,000 miles
I run all my oils until I feel my engine being sluggish.
They actually all are different and last differently.
Its a cheap car I use for work....
Im entertained enough doing this for fun. Oils could probably last longer with better filters.

It would last almost indefinitely if spinners where utilized.

The silicone in in the oil is a very expensive defoamer and very good. Before you freak about about the silicone, ask the manufacturer if they use it in their oils. Should be around 10 ppm factory. You can google it. Few adpacks use it if any that I know of. From what I saw they use heavily modified engine oil adpack with an OLOA 55XXX or Infineum adpack core. Its virtually shearless because instead of regular VI Improver like Paratone, they use a polybutene polymer which does not shear, unlike other stuff, but its expensive. As a manufacturer, as soon as you modify an adpack (even if you make it way better), you can no longer license it or get OEM approvals for it. A lot of the API licensed adpacks have a lot of room for improvement, which is what I'm guessing these guys are doing. Its like trying to get factory warranty for a Hennessy Modified Mustang or a RO Cars Modified Ferrari.

Or it could of just been leaching from the sealants since the engine was pretty new at the time.

@@MACTFordEdge no, it’s the adpack. Every single sample we tested has the same ppm of silicone. Between 5-10 ppm. It’s too precise. Also the OLOA adpacks, high tier ones have silicone in them.

Very interesting results. I got some 0w-40 euro spec oil. Just ordered my test kit. I’ll report back the virgin oil sample and then the oil with 5,000 miles on it in a turbo direct injection motor. They claim it can run 2 years or 25k miles.
