The Spirit Sword is a fun and powerful item in The Binding of Isaac Repentance but it feels unfinished in many regards. One of them is the way how it interacts with your range stat. That's why the mod "Range fix for Bones & Sword" by Cuerzor was created which I want to show you in this video!

Welcome back! I've seen 3 mods that change the appearance of the spirit sword for every character. I think it goes very well with this mod.

Unique Animated Spirit Swords look extremely cool but xtrike and royals take is more vanilla-like. I would love to see one of them.

felix and harold, bael, green isaac, warp zone, sheriff, and more stuff from reworked foes would be great. maybe you can cover the ghost pepper rework mod too
theres also some big stuff from this year already out like community remix and reshaken

I've always felt like the way this + the Forgotten work isn't like this, but rather what Nuclear Throne does with its "Long Arms" mutation for melee weapons, making the swing appear further away as it is currently in the game, but having the space between you and the swing ALL count as the hitbox, so range ups don't make the swing wider like this does, but you don't get a deadzone like in vanilla Isaac. That feels a lot more organic to me.

Yeah I have always thought it should just stretch the hitbox and sprite to be long, also bag of crafting should not scale with range for obvious reasons

I feel like sword size should be proportional to sqrt(range), so it's harder to get absurd sword sizes while still reasonable to get big ones.

You can adjust it with mod config menu, by default it is a factor of 5 but i changed mine to 3

Finally, the problem is fixed.
Although I do think it's slightly OP now, doesn't this just give a range up but also effectively a tear size up?
I think it would be really cool to have your sword turn into more like a pike, or at least for the swing to turn more into a longer spear-ish attack.
That might be a little more balanced.

this is a great mod, but if it affects bag of crafting i don’t think i would use it. i love tainted cain and i actually like the weird range increase with his bag of crafting (to a degree) because it allows me to grab more “out of reach” pickups
