WHY KIDS SHOULD DO COMPETITIVE SPORT! Genuine sportsmanship!

  • Some schools believe kids competing in sport should not be allowed... that EVERYONE should get a trophy or medal just for taking part so they don't get upset at "losing". The Honda Cadet final at Rd 4 in the Ultimate Karting Championship saw yet another red flag finish after a HUGE crash between two drivers. What happened next demonstrated that sport has a value beyond simple enjoyment. Competition creates friendships and teaches sportsmanship like no other... and this was a great example. It's a moment that will melt your heart (did mine anyway!)
    TDi Media use a MiRider One Folding Electric Bike to help us get our kit around the circuit and paddock when filming. The perfect paddock bike for larger motorsport circuits, caravanning and motorhome holidays or just getting around locally. If you have a small flat and need to store it indoors, THIS is for you! Go to mirider.co.uk/2021-mirider-on... to find out more.
    To find your local kart club and circuit in the UK, go to The Association of British Kart Clubs website at www.abkc.org.uk. There will be a kart club and circuit near to where you live.

      16 years in Karting and the most fun part of my life ! Did double duty as racer and track marshal ! Standing at turn 1 of a race like this on lap 1 is NOT boring !!! Worked a 6 hour enduro yesterday and doing a night race at end of month and that's its for the 2021 season 😞 Canadian winters ruin our fun .

    The reason I race karts at 55 is I enjoy the kids racing. The kids act way more professional than the adult racers. I have never seen two kids get in a fight over a race. They tend to go play together after the race. I see adults fighting almost every week.

      Don't think they are currently using 360degree onboard cameras are they? Never seen one. They have just started using a visor/helmet cam, which we used the week before they did for a lap of the track at Larkhall, and we use in one race to be released on the channel next week. The 360 degree cameras (We use the insta 360 One R) have been game changing, for the sport in the same way the drone was when we first tested and introduced it in 2014 as an early adopter of the technology. Others use drones from time to time, but we still seem to be one of the few production companies using a drone regularly (EVERY time we can) in world motorsport, and we only cover kids racing in the main.

    That was a great moment for sure, also i wanted to comment that championships like this is why the UK is so important in racing and also that the level of this championship in terms of drivers, comentators, filming, HUD and more is magnificient, for example they have a thing (i dont know how its called), but what it does it kind of "tells" the HUD where the drivers are so it can point at them exactly where they are in the screen, ive seen this tecnology in oval racing berore, but never in Formula 1 which has a massive budget compared to every other racing championship including this one, again, its incredible the level of this competition considering its kids who race and they even go live on TV, big respect

    in school they give you tests, these tests give you a grade.
    a grade counts on how smart you are.
    when you got bad grades you considerd dumb.
    If you have bad grades you are going to be at a lower rank school.

      @@este_marco I'm not talking about the car I'm talking about their general attitude. Also that's in proportion. 4k is a lot of money for a child 4 mil is a lot of money to an adult so even if a kart is a lot less, to the child it would be a fortune

    Damn you really don't understand the situation in schools and why they don't have the funding for sports

    • @TDiMedia
      @TDiMedia  2 года назад

      Nothing to do with funding when certain (not all) head teachers think kids playing competitive sport is bad as it makes them sad when they don't win a medal when others do. This is a UK thing...We have actually had school sports days giving away medals or certificates to everyone that takes part, wherever they finish. That sort of thing devalues awards. Winning takes application, belief and dedication, amongst many other things, and you learn much about what it takes to win by experiencing and learning from defeat and competition. Competitive Sport for kids in schools teaches what it takes to win, and how to be magnanimous in defeat... what some will call, as we have here, "sportsmanship". I do accept the issues we have in the UK with funding for school activities, including sports, and in an era when obesity is becoming an ever greater problem in children, sports activity is even more important.

    Is your intro reel really 45 seconds long? I know in the grand scheme of things that's not a lot of time but ffs consider, collectively, how much time of your viewers you're wasting with that. Thousands of minutes of human productivity down the toilet because of your "artistic" intro. I'm sure it cost you money and you wanna display that. Fine. CONDENSE IT.

      It's the first part of a TV show, hence why it is there... will trim it in future tho as it's not needed for youtube I guess
