The most under appreciated originator of rock music. Buddy Holly was The Man. Song writer, guitar player, producer....I think Paul McCartney has acknowledged him but too few do... No Buddy Holly, no modern Rock Music. His influence is everywhere. and the greatest ever band The Beach Boys and Brian Wilson owed so much to him. He changed my life in one day when my brother brought his album home.....WOW. Unique, fabulous.

I agree with Karen, love the guitar on this one by Buddy Holly!! Such a terrific song ..... love your song choices Tiger ..... great work my friend ...... take care, Lorraine 👍🏻
Hi Lorraine! Forgive me if others have told you this since you posted. The amazing and creative guitar on this song is by the late great Tommy Allsup. His terrific talent can be heard on only 5 buddy holly recordings, but was a member of Buddy's band on the final tour.
In the mid 60's when I was in Elementary School my Mom had this single. She told me about Buddy Holly and how he died in a plane crash. This song doesn't sound much like 50's music it sounds similar to Punk Rock because it has those overtones. Buddy Holly also influenced that type of music his music was ahead of its time. Since he wore glasses he was making the statement that it's alright to wear glasses.

Production by the great Norman Petty, the pride of Las Cruces, New Mexico.
Norman Petty was a crook who withheld Buddy's royalties, forcing to go on the fatal tour.
