I haven't gone back that far, but you know I want to now. I took a friend up to periodic springs on the way back from our Wind Rivers trip. It was about mid July and they were just starting that slide clean up. That thing was massive. I got some good footage of the clean up. Bummer part, there was so much water he didn't get to see the spring stop and start back up. Awesome hike!
Well done to both of you. Was Lizzy on part of the 50K walk/run you did? This walk looks spectacularly beautiful and from the care you took with descending into the lake you would have had your BP up getting away, unless you could loop away on a contour? No, she didn't do the 50k with me. She's training for Kings Peak with me tho -stay tuned for that video in a few weeks! Yeah, we looped around the other side so as not to climb back up that hill. It very well could be a crater, not sure! Cheers!

Now you gotta go! There were two areas you could camp at lake as well if you wanted to backpack! That landslide was insane!
Absolutely gorgeous video. Are motorized vehicles really legal on that trail?
Yes, sadly. We probably saw at least 20 dirt bikes this day. Some parts of the trail were really rutted out.
