About The Nanny:
Fran Drescher stars as Fran Fine, a street-smart young woman with a face out of Vogue and a voice out of Queens who stumbles onto the opportunity to become nanny to the children of a wealthy widower, Maxwell Sheffield. Soon Fran, with her offbeat nurturing and no-nonsense honesty, touches Maxwell as well as the kids.

The nanny is like comfort food! I’ll never get tired of it
😍😍😍😍
Amen
I'm addicted all over again..
Yesss
same I watch it almost everyday even if I know it by heart, just listening to it makes me happy :')
Niles was right on time with, "Your eggs, Sir," just as soon as Fran got done talking about her ovulating 🤣🤣
He's always right on time.
Thats the whole point
I know, right! 😂😂😂
I know, right! 😂😂😂
“All my eggs are dried up”
“The gene pool is safe” 😂
Always lovely. Benjamin Salisbury is a very good actor. I like how Brighton never accused Fran. He cares about her too.
Fran always had a great relationship with those kids. :)
@@Boxermom0317 Yes, she had. But Brighton seems the most difficult at some point, always in trouble and he wasn't as affectionate as his sisters. I remember later in this episode Mr Sheffield was surprised, because Brighton really liked her.
@@silvanazc7992 True! It's been so long, I'd forgotten about that. :)
@@silvanazc7992 young brighten was supposed to be the problem child if I recall correctly. He matured really well later on, though he (along with his sisters to a lesser extent it seems) started fading into a background character after that, though thankfully none of the cast ever really fell off.
@@yousaywhatnow2195 yea, I kind of wish they'd be given more screen time
*"I didn't inhale!"* *Gets me every time* 🤣
Is not inhaling really possible?
It's a perfect reference to a presidential faux-pas of that time.
You are dating yourself, JustCallMeBo.
@@user-fw3lk1hs3q Specifically, Bill Clinton's. During the 1992 presidential election, he admitted to trying pot in his youth but that he hadn't inhaled. He was consequently mocked by comedians, talk show hosts, pretty much everyone. Nobody believed him.
@@jillnewton9654 yes. It is.
Fran: 😯 "can you believe he sent me to my room? 😍 he is so adorable sometimes." 🤣 I missed this show so much.
The Nanny was one of the only shows I can think of where EVERY character was truly funny. Even the kids! Child actors are usually tolerable (at best) or horrible (at worst) but these three were superb.
Well, I didnt care for Nadine (Fran's sister).
@@lovipoekimo176 shes in like two episodes tops i think we’re ok
Gracie writing could have been better
Maggie was annoying but Brighton was superb
There are lots of decent child actors!
3:22 her reaction of surprise and fear could have won an Oscar here.
but you don't get an oscar for a reaction, an emmy maybe
I loved the fact that there was real coffee in the cup! Real dialogue, real humor, real acting! These were the days! Nowadays, empty awkwardly held cups, dialogue anyone can predict, botoxed Barbies and canned laughter...
but the girls ate so fast tho
Well said, I couldn't agree more
Did y’all notice Fran walked out the room when it was Max’s turn to talk 😂
God, Brighton is such an underrated character!
3:22 'I think I just had a small stroke' 🤣🤣🤣
a precursor to : 'You died your hair??? That was my grey streak, I caused it and it was MINE to remove!!!'
The stroke bit scared me a bit! I know it's just a show, but still..
I always wished that we could’ve had a spin off series that followed what Niles did through the show.
"Sometimes we would listen to recordings of doorbells and not get up."
They were soooooo married before theyre actually married hahahaha
I don’t know how often I have seen that entire season over and over again. It never gets old while in fact it’s from the early 90s. The dialogues and the timing is so accurate that you always get the feeling, you’re sitting right next to them at the table. There’s nothing likewise nowadays.
I might be wrong, but it’s interesting how this wasn’t brought up when Maggie and her boyfriend were smoking, and Fran pretended to smoke which caused her to leave
I think it's because Max and Maggie's relationship is so much more fragile than Max and Brighton and if he punished Maggie like this she would never let it go.
Yeah ^^. Mr. Sheffield was always much more harder on Maggie than the others. She was kinda the one who changed the most out of them all as after Fran came, she became less reserved and was doing more mature things like dating, having sex, etc. He always saw her as a little girl and did everything in his power to keep her that way, which led to their relationship constantly being on the rocks.
That's because Maggie's smoking came later on. Because of Brighton, Fran already had experience with the situation, and was able to think of something different to dissolve it...
This episode is from the first season; the second episode ever, in fact. The one where Fran allows herself to get caught smoking by Max to teach Maggie a lesson is from Season 3.
"I didn’t inhale" Those of us that were around at the time of this episode probably remember this was innuendo for a certain man that was often given the nickname of "bubba".
Exactly 😂
Brighton reminds me of Bart Simpson
If he had a trust fund, yeah!
Interesting
Yessssssssssss
Almost spat my drink out from laughing 😂 can you believe he set me to my room 😂
“He is so adorable sometimes!” (He was!) ❤️
That suit Mr. Sheffield is wearing, I have to start dressing like that again.
Like a common murdered detective?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 he is so adorable sometimes
Niles must have been the best chef or he was smart and ordered in for every meal. The food that family always ate.
Probably both.
It did come up when Fran had to take over for a while. Something about where "Niles" usually orders the pancakes...
But he does obviously cook, too.
The kitchen was pretty small for that much cooking imo
I really love Niles 🥰
This show is hilarious! Everyone in it makes me laugh!
He looks like inspector gadget 😂
I MISS ANYTHING BEFORE THE 2000s 😭😭
“ It’s your job TOO! - mr. Sheffield. - s I r . “
Way to tell the Boss you shouldn’t pass off your parenting responsibility on the help. She did try to tell him, but his response was is anybody injured or dying? Beyond that he wasn’t interested in being a parent.
They never finish eating too lol
i would not react the same way as Fran when being told to go to my room!
Love the show always makes me laugh right before bed!
3:23 the first of many
I miss the Nanny show🤗💜
Me too
I think it's on Tubi
wow the office and the kitchen changed places
3:10. Isn't that supposed to be Maxwell's office?
I must admit, to this day I have no idea about the layout of that house. I even tried to find it online, but no luck...
This is one of the first episodes; they probably hadn't settled on the layout of the house yet
@@Domihork TBH, I believe there was none. I mean, most of the scenes were filmed in the living room, the office and the kitchen, while the other places were rarely shown. They probably didn't even bother creating like a real layout of the entire house and only focused on those three rooms.
Alex is right, though. In all the later episodes the room they came from was not the dining room but Maxwell's office instead.
lol true
@@NightmareInYourBed in other episodes the kitchen was behind the living room they went there by the hallways from the office and the bathroom under the stairs, which would be impossible in such a small townhouses btw
Ah yes the classic, “While you’re out working, I’m stuck doing the housework and raising the kids” line.
I just realized how her voice became more nasal with time. Still love her and the show
hmm now that you mention it. I wonder when the corporate people told Fran that when no nasal sounding means no fran
or maybe she was easing the audience into it. it was only the second episode, after all
I love The Nanny it’s one of my favorite classic TV Shows on Cozi TV network!
I can’t believe Fran invented gaslighting 😂😜
Am I the only one thinking on the bad room continuity when Fran and Maxwell left the dinning room by teleporting onto his office and making the way out through the living room-lobby-entrance?
I realized too
I was looking for this comment
Makes me think of the pilot, when the office was the one we’re used to on its first scene, but got swapped and remodeled for the next two scenes.
I noticed they never finish or start-THEIR MEALS
" I didn't inhale "
Is it bad that I was immediately gonna say Brighton should say, "I wanted to be like you!" Maxwell (and the others) have smoked cigars on the show. I know it's wrong to try to blame a parent or to help a child lie about something so serious, but that would have been a more believable story. And it might have helped them all stop smoking.
Yes it is strange. I don't know, maybe in America di far are considerate a guilty pleasure for particular and special occasions (Cigars are more expensive than cigarettes)
Wait they were in the dining room then got out from the office? 🤣
Ha! I didn’t think about that! 😂
Your eggs sir 😹😹😹😹
Fran "I don't think 🤔 💭 I was feeling well that day, I wasn't ovulating" Niles "Your eggs 🥚 Sir" 😂 😂 🤣 🤣
"I didn't inhale". When all else fails try the Clinton defense.
Fran was a bit different in the first season. Even her voice.
"Oh, so now I'm twisting?!" Hahaha!
So by this episode they move the stairs to the other side of the house and the whole set-up was different
The pilot was filmed in a totally different house/set than the rest of the series. No idea why the change was made, except the second was much more lavish.
@@SuperDrLisa I'd be willing to bet the pilot was probably filmed on a temp set and by the time the show was officially green-lit the pieces had been shuffled to other projects.
They probably also managed to negotiate a bigger budget by the time they were ready to start filming.
This scene is pure gold haha
3:57 someone’s in love!
Brighton reminds me of the voice of Tinboy from The Oz Kids.
ABSOLUTELY THE BEST….EVER…WILL always be my FAVORITE
that growl on "yes, you" .......mmmm
“Here, here!”
::pause::
“Here.”

Girls you're dismissed
Not you
They bicker like a married couple

Does Mr. Shaughnessy sounds like Mr. Ratburn
From Arthur?
I don't know how many times I have watched this clip, but today is the first day I noticed that Gracie ate fruit from her bowl and drank her juice. Maggie didn't eat any fruit from her bowl nor drink, but she did wipe her mouth with her napkin. Maggie then reached for the fresh fruit on the table & took grape(s.)
Girls didn´t ate Panncakes...
I love them all♥️
With this arrangement, who is the nanny?
She never really waa the nanny 🤣🤣🤣 or more specifically the kids nanny! As he said in many later episodes she was HIS nanny 🤣
Even at the wedding he even says darling you never really work 😁
She really instantly became wife and mother in every way except physically and legally!
👍😍❤️😂🤣😂
Funny 😄
how come they were at the dinning room and then appeared from the left of the living room, where Maxell's office really is!
Joseph and today 😃
LOL
😂
Everyone else dresses for breakfast except Fran. Sometimes she really is rude. She doesn't even have the insight to be embarrassed.
Graceless and vulgar.
😅🤣😁🙃👻...... what can I add....!!!!!!!
They waste so much food every episode!
Hopefully, staff ate it. And some of it is most likely plastic.
@@saranemcova5448 they did, the actors discussed how amazing the food was and that they were always eating in between takes 🤣
