I was watching one where these birds had started nesting on these jagged cliffs because predators and stuff, and the baby birds can't fly yet and they basically had to belly flop off of the cliff and hope it survived. I had to turn it off because the first one didn't make it and I was in tears. What a great partner though, I couldn't imagine how hard it would be to see your partner in danger so often.
I saw one where baby geese were nesting on a cliff, and then had to jump off because...I don't remember. It had reached a part of their lives where they had to go to the water? Anyway, I saw those tiny fluffy bodies sailing through the air and I was _riveted_ - vaguely horrified and rooting for them to make it. I think three made it, so that's something. And yes, there were more than three when they started, but I also think there were fewer than six, so it was better than 50% survival rate.
