Thanks for trying out BTS, it's a really enjoyable journey of discovery. As 54 yr old Army I'd given up on modern music as I can't stand all the immorality and bad language so was really surprised to find BTS during lockdown. Never regretted it, their music is so great, and with lyrics that have literarily saved lives of thousands. Besides their music, they have enormous content as they had to rely on themselves to introduce their music/themselves out into the world. The K-Pop industry is very competitive and at the time the Big 3 Company's in K-Pop (who had all the power and influence on music shows) saw them as a threat and tried to basically shut them down in various ways, but that just lit a fire under BTS and they worked damned HARD and never gave up and here we are. Biggest in the world and for good reason. Theirs is a story of the underdog making it big. Story of real triumph over adversity.
They are such genuine, humble, honest guys that truly love their fandom, and real crackpots in real life. So very endearing, no surprise that the fandom A.R.M.Y. is now 90 mil if I remember correctly, and love them to bits. They are rewriting the history books, being compared to the Beetles and the natural successors to MJ. His children concur. The language barrier becomes non existent, good music is good music and they are GREAT and will be remembered as such for all time. Keep going, and you'll be in for the ride of your life and emerge a better person as most of us can attest to!

Also for an explanation of their MV's DKDKTV & Bookish Theory are good sources. We lose a lot in not being able to understand Korean culture, and these do a great job of explaining the real message behind the lyrics which are always deep. So worth doing an explanation video to their songs automatically alongside the MV. Always watch the MV's to the end! It might be a good idea to ask Army for links for the best performances..... some are not as good as others.
They also have various versions of their MV's, from the official MV to remixes (B-sides done for Army) and live performances. Dance videos for their choreography can be found at Bangtantv (their own channel) and behind the scenes videos. Just depends how far you want to go, there is a lot. The MV's have a storyline attached but that is better saved for a time when you know the members more.
To avoid any copyright strikes just show the Big Hit/Hybe logo at the beginning of all their MV's.
NOTE: THE WORD NEGAE MEANS YOU/ME/I - not the word you think! Some misunderstand so best to get this out the way! Also Koreans or Asians in general are not afraid to show their emotions, so crying/hugging/being close is a cultural thing, which to Western eyes can seem a bit touchy feely or give wrong connotations.
In Korean culture the surname comes first, then the given name! So, for example their leader is Kim Namjoon, and Namjoon is his first name. Otherwise known as Namjoon or as RM (Real Me) but used to be called Rap Monster, Joonie, President (long story there! ). As leader it doesn't mean he's the leader, they all have 'job' titles/roles so to speak. But he represents the interests of the group to the label and vice versa and is the media spokesperson when abroad as he speaks fluent English.

You said it instantly made you feel good. That's what this song was designed to do. It came out at the very beginning of lockdowns for covid and it is their first all English song.

Since you mentioned liking Hip Hop: They actually started out as a Hip Hop group and 3 out of the 7 members are actually rappers :D I would definitely recommend to check out Mic Drop to see a more rap heavy song. Since most of their songs are partly or mainly on Korean make sure to turn on the subtitles in the videos, since their lyrics are often deeper then most people think! Can't wait for more :)

There are often several versions of the Official" music video.
The "Ioniq: I'm On It" is a promotional song for Hyundai. But you barely notice the car because the mv & song are so good; similar style as "Film Out"
"Come Back Home" was released on July 4, 2017 as remake of Seo Taiji’s song "Come Back Home" for Seo Taiji 25th Anniversary Remake Project.
“With Seoul” is a BTS song and film highlighting Seoul as a vacation spot. The original also shows them recording it. They have also done 3 other versions, including a “short” on 2020-09-11; a beautiful drone visual of Seoul (The Four Seasons of Seoul” on 2019-12-30, & an amazing drone visual mv on 2021-01-09.
My personal favorite "other version" video is "DANGER (Mo-Blue-Mix) , featuring THANH". Thanh is an Australian-Vietnamese singer. This song has a R&B vibe with some great lyrics added by Thanh.
There are loads of their other songs including some of my favorites: “Dionysus”, “Ma City”, “Truth Untold”, ”Outro: Tear”, “House of Cards”, “Lost”, “Dimple”, “Butterfly”, etc. and their solo, rapline, vocal line, short films, comeback trailers, etc. not included.

My greatest pleasure is to see new people discovering BTS and becoming a fan. I became a fan literally 6 months ago, summer of 2022, after hearing My Universe song by Coldplay featuring BTS, who are these voices belong to I thought. There is a phenomenon called the BTS rabbit hole when you start looking them up on the internet. That’s what happened, I’m still in the rabbit hole and I am now a massive BTS fan and we call ourselves ARMY, look that up too, so fun. To speed up your learning proces, I want to suggest “ choreography BTS “RUN BTS” dance practice “ . It is a giant leap of 10 years of BTS, you won’t regret it. Then watch everything you want of BTS.

Even though it's not my kind of music because of it's Top 40 radio style execution (not that I hate it, it's typical radio pop to me) I'm glad you enjoyed it, seeing this was released during the pandemic, and it's comforting to know that it brought people together on that time to look past through the news and social media, to have fun with.

Information about bts:
Bts has 7 members jin, suga, Rm, J hope, Jimin, taehyung and jungkook. They debuted since 2013 but the group was form since 2010 and bts take their break since june 2022 and they will be reunited until they finish they Military services
They will reunited in 2025 until they finish there own military service, it does'nt mean the band was Split up or broke up, they just need do a solo career from now on but they said this is just a End of chapter 1 of bts. They said they will be back to reunited again as a group
Bts ha they own variety show in south korea Called RUN BTS, the show was air since 2015 to 2022, but they just do a special episode of Run bts
The oldest member of the Group "Jin" is now in military service since last year november, and the next will be in enlisted in military is the 2ND OLDEST of the group "Suga" and the last will be enlisted is the youngest "Jungkook"

Also the fact that every Army right now is being bias wrecked by every member including their bias just goes to show how perfect and amazing these guys are and that they do such an amazing job with what they do as well.
So glad you gave BTS a chance. They will surprise you with the range of genres they do. Since you love hip hop, you’ll appreciate Ugh and Ddaeng (a combo reaction with the DKDKTV explanation video would be dope). BTS tends to put a lot of meaning into their lyrics and visuals so explanation videos, even if you think you got it but especially if you didn’t , help unpack the symbolism, references, and language and culture context. Spring Day is a good example. The Bullet Proof Vibes and Italian ARMY explanation vids are especially good for this one. Like other ARMYs have mentioned, check out Taylor’s Guide to BTS Members. It’s so fun, you’ll get to know each individual and a bit about their journey, and you’ll gain a deeper appreciation for what they’ve done and their impact. 💜

It was the first song of theirs I heard and it didn't catch me, because even though it's an excellent example of disco pop cheer, I like more meaning in my music. And then I found the entire rest of their discography.... There are a lot more songs that say something than songs that don't 🤣

It is a longer video and many reactors pause when they see that -- but trust me when I say fans will watch it with you. Especially if you are new to BTS.
BTS only has 3 songs in English, so if you react to more, make sure to turn on the cc for English subtitles. They have been around for a decade and do everything from Rap, hip-hop, R&B, EDM, pop, etc.. You will never find a song that sounds the same. There are 3 rappers and 4 vocalists in BTS. Military is mandatory in Korea for all men. The oldest just went in the rest will be going in this year. They are all working on solo albums before they go in. Thanks for reacting to BTS ! I think they will surprise you on many levels as this is probably the most "typical" song they've released (they just wanted to share good vibes during covid and make people smile). So yeah Dynamite is good but it's about 5% of what they can do. :)
BTS has, no lie, the wildest range of music any artist have and hundreds of songs. That means, no matter what your genre is, you'll find songs you like and some you'll enjoy less. Anyways, as much as medias like to put groups in a box, BTS is no typical "boyband" and even in the Kpop industry, they're totally different. They're pionniers in some way and to these days, I haven't seen any artist that big being so normal out of stage. But most of all, they've been working very hard for a decade, literally starting from scratch in a company that was on the verge on bankruptcy only to have made this company one of the biggest economic sources in South Korea nowadays. There are 3 rappers and 4 singers within the group and on top of being amazing rappers, singers and dancers ; BTS members write, produce, take part in the artistic concepts, music videos, dance choreographies, ideas... Everything basically, in collaboration with their company staff and artists. They're really on a line of their own and I think you'll see that for yourself when you react to more. That being said, you're really perceptive on many levels, can't wait to see more of your reactions :)
Also, I think you should definitely react to the different fan-made guides about BTS. They'll put you on many informations about the group, the members, how they work and everything basically. Because above learning about their group history, these guides make you understand their music a lot more in some way. That was my case when I first became a fan (and I'm sure I'm not the only one). I guess learning about the background of each member, their background as a group and the way they work for their craft, makes you understand the music (and the artistry) in a much more complete way. Well BTS roots are hip hop so you're sure to find a lot of their stuff to your tastes. Three Rappers and four vocalist. Rap line are RM, Suga and J-Hope who was a dancer who learnt to rap with help from RM and Suga. He also sings. RM and Suga were both well known in the underground Rap scene before they were BTS. The vocal line are Joonkook (who also joins the Rap line when required) Jin, Jimin and V.
Together they are a force they all write, some also compose and they all produce. In fact Suga produces for other artists and won a Award as Producer for another artist. Their lyric's are meaningful, often very deep, they will use any genre they feel like and will mix genres.
Dynamite is just a fun song put out to cheer people up due to Covid. Nothing deep in this one its just fun and it was really need to cheer ARMY (BTS fans) up.

Hey! Glad you are checking out BTS! I recommend you check out some of their hip-hop-influenced songs. A lot of people will suggest "Mic Drop" which is a GREAT song, but honestly it's more of a dance track with a little bit of rapping than true hip-hop or rap tracks. If you want to see what the three rappers can REALLY do, I strongly suggest you go straight to a live recording of the Cypher Medley. Just search for "BTS Cypher Medley English Sub" for a version that contains subtitles in English. J-hope does his verse from Cypher 1, Suga does his from Cypher 2, RM does his from Cypher 3, and then they all do the entire Cypher 4. It will leave you speechless.
I’ve really enjoyed your BTS reactions so far. I think you should check out Outro: Tear - preferably the live at Wembley.

I really liked your reaction to Dynamite BTS! It’s a very catchy bubbly tune. They have few songs entirely in English, so part of their charm is their singing in Korean and other languages as well. You can usually get the captions in English for their other songs, so I hope you will react to some of their other amazing songs. They have great music videos and awesome live concert performances as well. BTS started out as a hip hop group and their rappers (RM, SUGA & JHope) are the main song writers of the group, though all 7 members are recognized and official song writers and producers of their songs. The mostly sing in Korean, they also have albums of their Korean but also original songs in Japanese but with Dynamite they branched out into English as well as they wanted to cheer up their internaitonal fans with an English song.
They do a variation of genres, hip hop, pop, R&B, NeoJazz, EDM - you name it. Each member has their own solo songs on BTS' albums but the rap line also had mix tapes and as of 2022 two had actual solo debut albums (RM & JHope).
Here are my recommendations:
Hip Hop - Attack on Bangtan, the Cyphers 1-4, No more Dream (their debut single) , HipHop Phile, Ddaeng, Ugh!
These are all in Korean, but the cc are okay on the MVs, but you might want to check out the lyrics beforehand at DoolSet Lyrics doolsetbangtan.wordpress.com/ which not only translate the lyrics but also give socio-cultural references as a lot of their songs are not your usual happy go lucky boy meets girl KPop songs (even if they sound like this) but deal with social injustice, political events, mental health etc.
But most of all - have fun if you want to go down the BTS rabbit hole :) There is so much to this group beyond their singing and dancing as they created their own shows on the internet (and their stuff is still avialable on RUclips etc.) because they were shunned by Kmedia as they came from a small company and were not part of the most influential Big3 music management companies.

Thank you for reacting to BTS! This song was released in summer 2020 bring some joy during the pandemic. It certainly succeeded. It is one of only three songs fully in English. Most of their discography is is in Korean, but they have a lot of Japanese songs too. And since you like hip hop you came to the right place because their roots are hip hop. Any ARMY will tell you that the 4 songs BTS put out in English to chear up a post covid world are not truely representative of the breadth of the many genres and styles of their mamoth discography. Except in the consistency of the quality, creativity and production both of music and videos. They never short change ARMY. Ghey are even better live. Thats why their fan base is so loyal.

This is mainly solo and collaborations. I agree that you would probably like the rap line songs better. Butter & Permission To Dance are their other English songs songs which are upbeat pop. The last was written by Ed Sheeran. Danger & Dionysus have a bit of a rock vibe. Danger only has subtitles from the channel 1theK. Dionysus is only live, but it's amazing. Enjoy BTS More has a lot of live performances with subtitles. Don't ever select auto generated subtitles. It would be better to just guess.

There are often several versions of the Official" music video.
The "Ioniq: I'm On It" is a promotional song for Hyundai. But you barely notice the car because the mv & song are so good; similar style as "Film Out"
"Come Back Home" was released on July 4, 2017 as remake of Seo Taiji’s song "Come Back Home" for Seo Taiji 25th Anniversary Remake Project.
“With Seoul” is a BTS song and film highlighting Seoul as a vacation spot. The original also shows them recording it. They have also done 3 other versions, including a “short” on 2020-09-11; a beautiful drone visual of Seoul (The Four Seasons of Seoul” on 2019-12-30, & an amazing drone visual mv on 2021-01-09.
My personal favorite "other version" video is "DANGER (Mo-Blue-Mix) , featuring THANH". Thanh is an Australian-Vietnamese singer. This song has a R&B vibe with some great lyrics added by Thanh.
There are loads of their other songs including some of my favorites: “Dionysus”, “Ma City”, “Truth Untold”, ”Outro: Tear”, “House of Cards”, “Lost”, “Dimple”, “Butterfly”, etc. and their solo, rapline, vocal line, short films, comeback trailers, etc. not included.
