I accept and like Dr. Cornel in the same sense as you love your favourite Uncle. Completely ridiculous and over the top, spewing information you never thought you wanted to know but also releasing gems of wisdom that are encouraging and worth while pursuing.

It was a pleasure to welcome Cornel West to the University of Cambridge, after his conversation with Clayton Crockett and Jeff Robbins at the Union Theological Seminary, New York.

I NEVER PLAYED THIS THUG GAME. I am not partial to violent games. I like cassino games and card games and word puzzle games. This is outrageous that someone would sink so low as to impersonate me. I will have to report this infarction. I am tempted to close out my Facebook account.

you are a perfect example of what is he was talking about ,when they said there is a different between Systematizing( logical structure) and philosophizing (engaging the public sphere)

I do philosophy in a closed room, very often without even myself being present.

Philosophy = the art of saying nothing with pretending to say everything....
... You have a genius at your finger tips , who loves people willing to answer anything and you ask these questions?

The public arena is the opposite of private education and elite Universities; now you know what it is.

I'm curious as to what drives you to be so critical of such a great and proven philosopher, versus, digging in to discover the vastly broader world than that of which you are obviously limited to.

Cornel is always the smartest person in the room. I may be wrong, but I think the difference in thought for one reason is she comes from a white world & Cornel from a black one. Just something I thought while listening to this.

If I heard him correctly, it's interesting that he said hell no to running for president, but today, July 2023 he is in fact running...folks are entitled to change their minds indeed...just thought it's interesting

Do we need to embody Heidegger by listening to him ... what makes anyone think primary school is less valid a place for arming us against H than the academy when its all most of us have as defense against the weapons of mass distraction the consciousness demolition of popular culture, BBC glory speak, and the State ... the public sphere stuff is to engage us in the practical consequences of a love of the world, and our infinite potential ...its a pity but our deontic scorecard has outlawed contemplating a possible King Cornel... Cambridge Pragmatism is empty PR some of us are born to prescribe truth FFS.

I enjoy listening to you Dr. West. However this woman is driving me nuts. Dr.West you have great patience with somebody like this. It has been hell just to watch and listen to her. I think what she is trying to say is that she hate philosophers and that there is no need for them. But once again you answered her sick questions with Grace and respect. More power to you brother👏

ahaha, yea he is a blabber mouth that's for sure.
Maybe it's just that I agree with a lot of his blabbering and am a fool for doing so. Or maybe it's just the black neck scarf that's so endearing,

listen to him, he doesn't make any arguments, he just bullshits and blathers on. Statements in philosophy must be concise, clear and logically structured, using implication and syllogisms

crunchynutkiller agreed to a certain extent but Cornel West is more like a poetic thinker, not exactly an abstract or analytic guy, may be a thinker more like Kafka or Gorgias. In other words a persuasive writer to extreme of sophist but as we all know and according to Aristotle sophistry have its own rules, using parabolic statements, in other words a parable language which is also not empty of paradoxes and contradictions , we see this sort of literary writing style for instance kierkagaard, but generally i accept what you said in principles, we can see he is more and less behaving like a poet or literary writer or political monologue at times. I just want to allude you to a great discussion between Cornel West and philosopher Simon Critchley, you can easily find it here on youtube. There you can understand what Cornel West is all about
