Join Starfield audio director Mark Lampert and composer Inon Zur as they discuss Starfield's sound design in Bethesda's Into the Starfield episode 3. We also get a look at the orchestra that brings the Starfield music to life.
Starfield arrives exclusively on PC and Xbox Series X|S on November 11, 2022. It'll be available on Xbox Game Pass day one.

Bethesda is so committed to the space theme for Starfield that they hired an actual alien named Inon Zur to compose the music. Absolutely astounding. 👍
@@blackbradhz299 you know there's a difference between "low-budget" and what you think is "low quality", right?
@@blackbradhz299 you sound hurt 🐴
Lol, this is a stolen comment from the starfield video on Bethesdas channel
@@oblivionguard7950 We posted this comment on that video too haha.
They are so committed the even started there own space station on mars
Steven Spielberg once said: “Without John Williams, bikes don’t really fly, nor do brooms in Quidditch matches, nor do men in red capes. There is no Force, dinosaurs do not walk the Earth, we do not wonder, we do not weep, we do not believe.” Music is sooooo important and can make or break a game like this.
John Williams is the GOAT.
All those movies wouldn't be the same without his incredible music.
Wait, Starfield is a game?! No way, can you show me some gameplay? It must be *incredible.*
It takes a master to become so integrated into even the emotional memory of a film. If they can hit those beats it will raise Starfield up.
"very long distances across a starry backround" Almost sounds like space flight confirmed
With Inon Zur at the helm, no matter what the game turns out to be, at least the soundtrack would be great.
Top 3 best video game composers of all time in my opinion.

Imagine interstellar like music being played while exploring in Starfield
That would be beautiful... And horrifying
@@DarkM00n575 An emotional rollercoaster. Wouldn't have it any other way.
Wow.
Modders must make that to happen!
@@sergeidinkov1473 They will definitely do that lol no doubt
My respect to the master. Inon Zur can tell you stories with his music alone.
23 years waiting for this game lol
Wat?how old are u?
@@davidmicheaels343 think the question is how old are you bro this was meant to come out in the 90s lol
@@mangossoul201 your comment makes absolutely no sense lmao.
waiting for this game like a caelid dog
Skyrim wouldn’t have been half the game it was without the music score.
Take everything with a fistful of salt when it comes to Todd. He is a master swindler.
He also directed some of the greatest open world single player RPGs of all time, so maybe he's more of a mixed bag than simply a "master swindler" as so many simpletons love to reduce him to.
This level of hype is giving me cyberpunk flashbacks lol
Yay! Another behind the scenes vid. Who needs gameplay?!
Can’t wait for Starfield.
Cool and everything but when will we get actual gameplay just wondering 😊
Summer time during a showcase similar to the xbox and bethesda one they did last year . I'd put money on June
When they're ready. We don't want another cyberpunk
Imagine them hyping it up so much only for it to end up like cyberpunk lol
I'd put money on next year, because everything just keeps getting pushed back
@@ejmakibelo3224 you’re right
All those videos really sound interesting. But when are we actually going to see more game footage? So far it has mostly been concept art and a couple of in game scenes... A little in game footage wouldn't hurt...
This summer
This must be the first time a game is less than 7 months from release and we've yet to see any gameplay footage...
Rockstar showed the gameplay of RDR2 and gta 5 only 3 months before release.
They always show it very close to release, for better or worse they never delay a game
7 months is way higher than the normal by the way(not talking about Bethesda)
@@oror3751 who never delay a game?

Really cool. Music is definitely what can elevate a game into a 10/10 experience.
yes but.... if the game is broken at launch like FO76 is all worthless.
@@guidorussoheck2100 Facts
@@guidorussoheck2100 The chances of any big company like this making the same mistake twice in a row are slim. They even overhauled the engine after 76 to avoid things like that.

remember how great the concept art for fallout 4 was and look how that turned out...
If you actually listen to what they’re saying, they’re giving literal hints about the game. If you can get what they’re saying.

Hey IgN You lookin GUUUUD! Keep it up!
Why are they showing behind the scenes when we haven't seen the front of the scenes yet?
they are giving subtle hints. They are literally talking about how the story is about us going out to find something to bring back "home",. And maybe even eluded to possible co-op. 2nd part is speculation mostly, seems like what they implied
So excited for this game, more than anything else coming up...
Why? Nothing's been shown

So many people here are acting like its irregular for them to not show gameplay yet, despite it being a normal thing for them to show it during the summer before release. Then all the CP77 comments.... this gotta stop
yay more concept art...
A lot of behind the scenes but I'm still waiting for an actual gameplay trailer.. Looking forward to it though!
This reminds me alot of an interview of Hans Zimmer discussing the creation of the Dune Soundtrack
Agreed🙌
As long as it just works.
y el gameplay?
When you see a video with this kind of title and you think: "Great, a video on sound in a video game!" and then it's only about the music..
the marketing for this game
Dope pictures 👍🏼
You wonder with all these Starfield promotional videos it will release earlier than planned. It would be positively shocking if Starfield releases at the XBox/Bethesda showcase in June.
theyre releasing it exactly 11 years after skyrim currently so doubt it
Gameplay this summer
He worked on starfield main theme in 2012 during fallout 4?
nothing gets me more excited for a game than two guys sitting at a table and talking about it lol
Really hope this pays off for Bethesda and Xbox. Though the fact that there’s STILL no gameplay has me a little concerned
It won’t. The game doesn’t even feel like a game.
This is unfortunately normal for Bethesda now. They want the short time span from full reveal to release. Just like fallout 4 and 76. Todd talked about how he likes this process.
@@TheMrGiannisgr Yes. Tell me how you've seen nothing but concept art and yet you know exactly how it will be.

It doesn't.
@@etrusco2898 it does

Man they are ramping up expectations...better be great.
this dude looks like a Bruce Willis / Picard love child
Wow the music for Star Citizen sounds Amazing! :)
It's always kind of sad that all this work goes into a game's or movie's music and yet if the music does it's job then you actually don't notice it because you're fully in the experience with the music just being a mere backdrop. Generally the only time one notices it is when it's poorly chosen for the moment and pulls you out of the experience, or triggers every 5 seconds because mudcrabs.
That's just wrong. At least with Bethesda, the music is always memorable. Skyrim and Fallout are immersive as hell yet the music is still so iconic to this day
There needs to be a scene for there to be behind the scene
Is it a space simulator
if this game launch unfinished like fallout 76. these words are haunted down to them during review of that games.
Where are the gameplay footages

“Music is like a companion in the single player game”
Did he mean in any single player game or the single player Starfield mode???
There are rumors of a separate multiplayer Starfield adjacent game being developed.
