There is an option for D2R that's called "Force move" and you keybind it to anything you want, and when you hold that key down, your character keeps running in whatever direction your mouse is pointed to. It's definitely in the settings you just have to find it. Would save you a lot from miss-clicking stuff and potentially dying.
@@igorthelight Isn't shift the opposite? Hold position, so you stand completely still and attack stationary. The force move means it will always move and not attack.
i think he was trying to get at it'd be better if you could WASD move + left click attack. that way your attack and movement aren't tied to cursor location.
To complement this tip: In D3 its popular to bind force move to wheel up and down as secondary, that way you move easier. However right now its not posible to bind the wheel as a Key. I used X-mouse to change the input for one of the side buttons of my mouse to go around that problem

Same. Loved playing barb and dudu. On the other hand I had the feeling that necro and mage are way to Op. I would nerf them instead of increase the power of other classes.
I played both weekends of the beta, first as a Barbarian and then as the Necromancer. While the Necro feels a bit OP, I didnt struggle with the Barb either. It probably depends on the builds you choose. I went Whirlwind bleed and my leggo pulled enemies in on my whirlwind. I found it tons of fun.
That's what I also found out. I enjoyed playing barb more than I played druid, I just upped the thorns node and I was fine, enemies are dying almost instantly lol
Yeah, idk why Peon says dumb shite like that... The game devs see this stuff especially from big youtubers.. they gonna completely change stuff because of his uneducated opinion on something he "heard" about.
@@sirnicholibraden86 you had 3x loot drop rate for legendary items. no char from beta should be based upon being good from just having legendaries. As on release you will just have 1 or 2 max by 25.
Barb was my favorite class. I use different skills (Hammers of the ancients instead of whirlwind) and was absolutely destroying bosses with right gear and shouts. Literally just face tanking them on veteran.
FYI, gear will give you the +1 even if you are at rank 0 for any skill. So, you can use a piece of gear to enable a skill you haven't actually unlocked which can be pretty useful for early game utility without having to nerf core spells by deviating points away from them.
Not if it's as long as some are saying. If there's 3hrs of cutscenes in the first 5 or 6hrs of gameplay then it's ridiculous to sit through all that more than once.

@@KatalistProductionsKozzySasha They arent making the game for level 25 players, people need to chill and wait for the game to release to get a real feel for all the classes.
Barbarian is and odd duck and needs some context I feel. Early tester here, did several waves going back a year or so. The barbarian is probably the most gear dependent early game class. They have a really neat new ability in D4, and that's to have 4 weapons equipped at once. They'll swap between the weapons as they attack if you interweave abilities that use different weapon types. They only attack with one weapon at a time, however they still get all the passive stats of the other 3 weapons. Their base damage is tuned to account for this; by the time you have 4 bangarang weapons they will in fact start hurting pretty good. There isn't an excuse Blizz hasn't fudged their early game math a little to help with on-boarding, but this is the state of the class. Furthermore, while most classes will get to have 9 or 10 legendary effects when fully stacked (depending on whether they use a 2-handed weapon or 2 1-handed weapons), Barbarians will get 12. Furtherermore, different legendary effects can only be put on certain types of items, the most class-specific offense-tuned ones tending to end up on Helms, Amulets and Weapons. This means not only will barbarians get 12 Legendary effects, but instead of the usual 3 or 4 of them being the best offense types 6 of them can be, and 2 of them at 2-hander potency to boot. This gets very powerful when you manage to find and stack effects that all compliment or augment a single playstyle, and is much more fun than the base journey to lvl 25 lets on. Grinding out a legendary set on the beta begins to show some of the potential, but we'll really just need the full game to truly appreciate where it can go. Sorry for the text wall, hope this provides some context. Again, there is no excuse for the class to have been show-cased this poorly or for Sorcerer's/Necro's to be as busted as they can currently get with single legendary effects. That said, early to mid game balance has always favored spells in these types of games and getting the perfect set of stacking attack modifiers has always benefitted some classes more than others later on. I believe Barb to be one of these based on my experience. High-end nightmare dungeons in world tier 4 require different builds and items compared to the story on normal difficulty, and barb performed above what I could get other classes to do in that environment. I got to play all the way to Lvl 90+ and test endgame. It's not as deep as PoE for example, but I think will be great fun. Really looking forward to the full release.
I started with Barbarian and admittley, it is more of a struggle and to be successful, I had to go down a particular skill path and couldn't keep my original build. I too also expected to get more powerful as I leveled and was surprised when some boss fights got harder for me as I leveled instead of easier. Using the typical formula, "I can't beat the boss now, I will level a bit more and come back" and only got my @ss beat even worse. That feeling sucked but I made it through eventually changing up skills.

The barb is the most fun for me. Feels more involved and requires lots of tweaking to get it to work. Which i am sure will change on later levels but great up to 25 anyway
Tried Werebear druid and it's hella fun, combined it with wolves and the dmg is really nice, though i find it extremely annoying that mobs keep running away from me nonstop; i get what they were trying to do but it feels annoying more than anything lol
@@antemedon kinda like how WoW warriors scale well into the late game as a late bloomer since they’re heavily dependent on weapons. I feel like the barb in the very late endgame with all the systems they’ll be very powerful.
Been hooked on the beta, the combat is fast and builds / skills can be synergised on the fly, they also took a page out of the tried and tested 40-60 second "find something" exploration discovery book. Worked well for ER and it works well for this game too.
The rubber banding between zones got much better after the first day or so in the first weekend. There's a bind for force move, which I put on another mouse button, but the way you described the issues with having it on the left click were right on the money. I didn't miss the map overlay, I used the right-click-to-pin on the map and followed the path. (which is not always exactly right, but I actually LIKED that because c'mon, it's an unexplored map.) The cutscenes are AMAAAZING, and the story is incredible. Just the conversations with random villagers contributed a lot to the story and feel of the world. Melee has always been tough for Blizzard to get right, just look at D2R, 20-some years and it's still the red-headed stepchild. Great video overall!
me and my friends jumped in game last night, and 7 hours later in the wee hours in the morning we went to sleep. it is fun and we never had a crash or disconnect. fun game at least so far.
Leveling up in these games is less about feeling more powerful instantly and more about opening new doors for careful decisions that could make you more powerful if you get into it. New armors and weapons to equip at higher levels, carefully choosing new abilities even if you are tempted to pick cooler sounding ones over and over, getting more options possibly at venders and crafting stations to maybe enhance your stats that way, etc. I like these games for this reason. It makes you put some thought into your characters but is also fairly accessible in my opinion. I find it so satisfying to basically handcraft my character into a god
I played every diablo up to diablo 3. D3 Was a major dissapointment. Dumbed down to cater to as much people as possible. D4 i never bothered. Im happy with d2 resurrected the only and best diablo thst deserves to the Name.
As far as cutscenes go, Diablo may be the best franchise ever in that regard. I love all of Blizzards cutscenes, but man... Diablo is just such a sick setting.
That's not what we want tho, we want to be able to move through enemies without attacking them. For that purpose I had to rebind almost everything, personally, I'd like if we could move with WASD.
Played yesterday and today, and finished act I with a sorcerer. Really solid and enjoyable gameplay, the art direction is outstanding (as usual with Blizzard games), the sound design and music, magnificient. I also really like that they reduced the scale of the events going on in the story. You're not the usual Chosen One (which was the case in D3), blessed with god-like powers, facing divine entities of cosmos magnitude. You're just a skilled adventurer traveling around, helping the common folks, trying to follow Lilith and stop her. But I'm still cautious about two things: monetization and end-game gameplay loop and systems.
Why would you care about monetization? Lol i dont get how people dont have money for games. Like what the fk is your salary? If you got proper education you should earn lets say 8k bucks monthly, you dont have a few bucks for a game? 😂😂
@M Damn bro its just an opinion. I think you are the one that is triggered. I understand its free but asking that much for a pre order is way too much. I am sure that will be the base price at launch, usually preorders are discounted.
@@simonsayz3925 - I was thinking the same. The Lilith intro is nice, but overall I feel their WoW and Starcraft 2 cinematics are way better. BFA intro and SC 2 Legacy of the Void was crazy.
Yeah I made a barbarian first character and it was rough, I feel like I switched up my build 20 times to get to 25 and finish act 1. I'm playing necromancer this time and its like day and night, its so much easier.
And that switches completely in endgame. Barbarians just spin to win with 1 button and insane dps while necromancer needs to really use their cds effectively.

Class balance means nothing at lvl25 with lowest or second lowest difficulty. Impossible to figure out what class shines at lvl75 with right gear compared to other classes with as good gear. Level 25 is just a stepping stone where you stay just a moment. Also drop rates on items are boosted for this open beta and of course people aren't normally staying at lvl25 getting best gear for that level.
There is still 1 problem i have with it.. Some classes because they are far stronger than others during leveling are just more fun to play then others. And as Druid for example i was doing really shitty until i got atleast a few legendaries. So if they arent there anymore cause of lower drop rates its a real struggle to level druid which just isnt fun compared to other classes who are as powerful than my full legandary druid with no legis or just 1 or 2. Sooo ofcourse at max level with real builds that all can change but they have to balance the level experience atleast slightly.
I think I am also playing one of the most broken builds with rogue and their shadow imbusing weapons stuff but for me the experience of feeling weaker the further you get in the game wasnt part of my experience. Besides the butcher I was breezing through most of the mobs.
19:07 in the control options you can remove left mouse from move, attack, and collect so its just move and the other two options you'd just need to remap your keys for.
@@demonsoulstealer123 You can do that by having interact and move on the same key bind, in the settings you can have an alternate key bind to adjust for that problem.
Thank you for your time and information on Diablo 4. I played all 5 Characters and I did like all range characters better than the melee characters but that also may be a personal preference.
I would say it’s a buy if you enjoy open world, ARPFs. The open world really fits Diablo in how they’ve gone about it, and build variety is pretty good, and that’s without access to the level 15 class specialties and paragon board.
@@Riftweaver1981 An open world is a level or game designed as nonlinear, open areas with many ways to reach an objective. Sounds like this game. Took your advice and looked it up.
@@Kilson-76 'many ways to reach an objective' is still very linear if the levels are just wide open. GTA is open world, Saints row is open world. most assassins creed games are open world. diablo 4 is just has big wide open overworld levels that are full of linear paths. saying that you can take path a, or path b to get to an objective doesnt mean much when they are both just pathways through a mountain trail that converge onto the objectives location.
I actually bound the force move (move without attacking) to the right click. And the right click attack i moved to another button. Made navigating with mob groups a bit easier. Also felt a little bit more like lost ark which had very fluid movement in my opinion.
I'd never been really interested in Diablo after playing a lot of D2, and getting kind of bored of the click and run. But seeing this actually makes me want to try it out!
As a Barb main since D2 back in the 90s, I liked the D4 experience. It was like playing in Hell difficulty. One thing to bear in mind is that we don't know how power levels will look like until we're not max lvl and max paragon. Usually in all games wizard/mages are easier to level up with.
i played all characters to lvl 25 and while i enjoyed all of them a lot i feel that, at least in the lvl 1-25 window, the necro and sorc are the strongest. obviously it depends on your build and there are strong builds for every class, even in the limeted beta. but with necro and sorc you didnt really need to put much thought into it. everything felt good. i enjoyed being able to die to normal mobs as a barb though :P

Now i only have to decide whether buying it on PC or PS5 since i'm playing the beta on both and they're about the same, a controller feels miles better than mouse and keyboard though.
The atmosphere is the key to most games. I hated D3 and i even tried plauing past act 2 times last months and i hate it even more haha D4 is freaking amazing.
My impression so far from the Beta is that it's very well-polished and smooth. There are a few technical kinks, but it's pretty much what one would expect from Blizztivision: bafflingly massive production values, not straying too far from the original formula, with smart improvements here and there. More of the same, but modernized. Also, the storytelling seems MUCH improved over previous titles.
@@xbahamutzero just wrong... cant kill bunch of monsters alone? Are you playing solo? Because my wizard can kill 5 bosses together easily, so can my barb and necro...
@@xbahamutzero I don't find it very MMORPG-y at all, honestly, but yeah, I suppose we're looking for different things. I never understood the community playing Diablo competitively or people sinking thousands of hours into it - I just want to play through the story and maybe dabble in endgame content a little bit with a small group of people in co-op. It seems perfect for that. I don't expect to put thousands of hours into it but I appreciate the visuals, appreciate the storytelling (which is way better than in previous games imho and a lot more interesting thematically because not all the conflict is just "who beats the other side up harder" and there's some actual human struggle) and appreciate the usability. Different strokes, though.
Really? I found it got boring pretty fast. Dungeons feel the same after a while and so on. I definately hope the endgame will be good to justify that price.
I gotta be honest, I wouldn’t expect the endgame to be significantly different. It’s not like the entire gameplay formula is going to get dropped at that point. I’d assume you’ll get more of what you saw, but more intense and with better rewards.
You should be switching between world level 1 and 2 to avoid feeling like you are getting weaker. Anything above the base world level is meant to level you faster than you get gear for and is meant for alt gear funneled characters, and those who want to feel challenged (and therefore want difficulty to go up), anything above level 2 (not available yet) is meant for geared funneled characters who want a challenge.
It was my first time playing a Diablo game (even tho I've played a lot of MMOs before) and I really enjoyed it. All the complains that I have are just little complains tbh, the game is really cool.
I wasn't a fan of the MMO features until we did a World Boss and I saw people dying over and over and yet randoms would run up to them and ress them. We barely beat the 15 minute timer. It was pretty cool, and I'm okay with the online only now.

Ive seen some good Druid builds despite everything saying the class is trash! Im hoping that the full release is more polished and has more exciting things to explore.
the thing with druid is. That it's not trash if you have nothing to compare it to. But as soon as you compare it to the other classes you start to notice it. Mind you my 20+ level druid did less damage than my 12 level rogue. Something is very off
Played it myself and in coop with my friend. A few issues with sound and aiming using a rogue. Overall that played really well for a beta. That's the best looking diablo game to date. Outstanding job on the graphics
I hope he does go to at least 20 one character. I know he hasn't paid much attention to the stuff putting out, but you get a few titles, and an item for hitting 20 in the beta. Everyones looking at it, playing it, getting interested in arpgs a little more and then realizing poe is simply the better game hands down so they can very well just play that one instead.
Playing with a controller helps that move and not click on mobs as you'll be using the joystick kind of like WASD. People seem to enjoy that (not to mention you get some haptic feedback sometimes). Same. Loved playing barb and dudu. On the other hand I had the feeling that necro and mage are way to Op. I would nerf them instead of increase the power of other classes.
there's an option in the settings to unlink attack/move/interact, but it does mean u will need 3 separate keybinds
o.O that would be nice actually!! is there a key to force move over spells when holding down?
@@twoandhalfbengals You don't have to unlink left click, simply bind force move to another button.
@@berkinguvenc318 ya I have that. Was hoping for button I could hold to modify my left click to always move. I dont think that is a option though

Barb was my favorite class. I use different skills (Hammers of the ancients instead of whirlwind) and was absolutely destroying bosses with right gear and shouts. Literally just face tanking them on veteran.
I rarely leave a comment, but I really enjoyed how excited you were. Made me really happy.
FYI, gear will give you the +1 even if you are at rank 0 for any skill. So, you can use a piece of gear to enable a skill you haven't actually unlocked which can be pretty useful for early game utility without having to nerf core spells by deviating points away from them.
You can still only use 6 skills though, but you can benefit from their passives.

No more nostalgia atmosphere, diablo 2 still the best
Ye I hate the fact zones level up alongside your character, so you get weaker while monsters get stronger as you go

The barb is the most fun for me. Feels more involved and requires lots of tweaking to get it to work. Which i am sure will change on later levels but great up to 25 anyway
Melee classes always feel the most interactive
Tried Werebear druid and it's hella fun, combined it with wolves and the dmg is really nice, though i find it extremely annoying that mobs keep running away from me nonstop; i get what they were trying to do but it feels annoying more than anything lol
I think that's just how barbs work. They feel underwhelming at the beginning but by end game they can solo almost everything.
@@antemedon kinda like how WoW warriors scale well into the late game as a late bloomer since they’re heavily dependent on weapons.

Bear Druid has been an absolute delight to play. I love ramming into groups and bashing them into the environment.
Also the bear roar is daddy af.
Been hooked on the beta, the combat is fast and builds / skills can be synergised on the fly, they also took a page out of the tried and tested 40-60 second "find something" exploration discovery book. Worked well for ER and it works well for this game too.
I like that they made respecing no big deal so if I found an ability specific legendary I could at least try it out without any consequences.
No it didn't, the rubberbanding is still awful as of ten minutes ago.
Is this his first time ever playing this genre? His reactions are so pure, like he never played a game like this before kek
well, it looked like it was his first time seeing The Butcher so it's safe to say he didn't play diablo 1,2, and 3 :)
Ah! Fresh meat!
Literally ;-)
me and my friends jumped in game last night, and 7 hours later in the wee hours in the morning we went to sleep. it is fun and we never had a crash or disconnect. fun game at least so far.
15:04 there used to be an option to hold down shift or control to keep yourself from moving when clicking
It's still there
That's not what we want tho, we want to be able to move through enemies without attacking them. For that purpose I had to rebind almost everything, personally, I'd like if we could move with WASD.
It's still a thing ;-)
In almost ALL of aRPGs
@M $100 for an open beta is ridiculous
@M Damn bro its just an opinion. I think you are the one that is triggered. I understand its free but asking that much for a pre order is way too much. I am sure that will be the base price at launch, usually preorders are discounted.
@M have you accepted our lord and savior, Jesus Christ? He said once, "if thou angsty, touch thy grass blessed by the sun."
I find no overlay map as a pro. Makes you focus more on actual environment and not just minimap. It's making it more immerse.

As a casual, more story-focused player I agree as well but also understand that the more hardcore ARPG fans like the overlay more.
14:56 How do you now know about the shift-function? It's been around since D1.

Yeah I made a barbarian first character and it was rough, I feel like I switched up my build 20 times to get to 25 and finish act 1. I'm playing necromancer this time and its like day and night, its so much easier.
But you still need to press buttons. play Druid and you won't need a keyboard.

No shit, Sherlock.
That was the most fluent transition into an ad I’ve ever seen 😂
I think I am also playing one of the most broken builds with rogue and their shadow imbusing weapons stuff but for me the experience of feeling weaker the further you get in the game wasnt part of my experience. Besides the butcher I was breezing through most of the mobs.

What's wrong with it
19:07 in the control options you can remove left mouse from move, attack, and collect so its just move and the other two options you'd just need to remap your keys for.
Main issue most people have with that is that you can't have both move and interact on the same keybind if you do that.

I just can't help to ask, what is the difference from Diablo 3? at all?
I would say it’s a buy if you enjoy open world, ARPFs. The open world really fits Diablo in how they’ve gone about it, and build variety is pretty good, and that’s without access to the level 15 class specialties and paragon board.
It's not open world
I agree the open world and Diablo works very well

How does the controller feel? I’ve got an old pc but a series x. And I’m really struggling trying to figure out what I’m going to get it on
I actually bound the force move (move without attacking) to the right click. And the right click attack i moved to another button. Made navigating with mob groups a bit easier. Also felt a little bit more like lost ark which had very fluid movement in my opinion.
15:00 When playing Diablo, I've always put my movement on scroll wheel. Just spamming that to run and shift/left click to attack! helped loads
that's a good idea, my pinky gets tired of holding shift all the time
Ctrl, shift and alt always on mouse buttons. Great for lefties too.
The game looks pretty good so far.

Hey man, you are looking great! I have watched you for years and I could say without a doubt you’ve never looked better!
You should be switching between world level 1 and 2 to avoid feeling like you are getting weaker. Truth! D4 sucked.
Playing with a controller helps that move and not click on mobs as you'll be using the joystick kind of like WASD. People seem to enjoy that (not to mention you get some haptic feedback sometimes).

As a long time FPS and Call of Duty ''veteran''... i picked this game on my series x, instead of PC... just because since its a BETA, and i must say... WOW!!! Has Diablo franchise or MMO's like this always been good and addictive??? my first 20minutes on this game has left me speechless!! i don't know what to say... IM LOVING IT.
I have a PC with 3080ti ryzen 95900x, do i get this on PC or console??
This game is awesome gonna spend a lot of hours into it
Hypetrain riding cuck.
The intro to the AD. Amazing :D
Nice review! Btw, holding down shift while attacking will hold you in place. That should help you a lot.
Exactly how do a scan a QR code if I'm watching on my phone?
We've only experienced the beta, so any assessment to its value is still up in the air 😅 Those who don't pre-order, you get to watch morons like me play and pay for your amusement! 👍 Pour one out for us if it fails to meet expectations!
Nah fk you for pre ordering.
you can play this weekend without having to have bought the games. It's free to all with a battlenet account
@@gmee123 yup. Level 25. Finishing up the prologue. Lol
I've been a fan of the game since Diablo 1. I'm just hoping that by the release date, everything will be up to par.
It won't be. What you see in beta is what it will be. Blizzard always uses betas to stress test and never makes any last minute changes.
The beta has been unplayable for me, constant crashes and memory leaks. The game itself is good and reminds me a lot of D2, but the technical problems are unexcusable if it's gonna release in 3 months, i don't think they'll have time to fix the issues that appear in the beta.
Idk what youre talking about bro. Game plays smooth for me. The only issue I had was during the closed beta, the wait times were up to 2 hours to get in.
Think it's just you. Fridays are bad, but it runs smoothly out of initial launch
@@iabaca As a programmer, there is no way that memory leaks are setup dependent, it's a programming issue for sure. I don't have any FPS or freeze issues, just random ass crashes (especially before/after cutscenes).
The beta is for testing those things. It’s not un excusable at all. That’s like the whole point of a beta.
@@DocHudson420 A game 3 months from launch shouldn't be having the same type of crashes as a game/abomination that you come up with in 2 hours with Unity because you don't know how memory works.
They had what, 10 years to make the game? Why do you think these issues are gonna get fixed due to a marketing beta in 3 months?
Great review! Thank you and hiya from North Yorkshire 😊
I see. I click.
I click. I see.

I agree with the lack of character creation options such as the hair and facial presets/customisation for sure
Thing I hate about the dodge is that it doesnt even makes you invincible. And since the hit detection is often lacking, especially in bosses fight, it makes it rather useless.
