The harmonium use was so well-thought of. Creates a completely different presence within the film as well. Aamir Khan and team took the right decision to make a Forrest Gump for India.

Arijit+Shilpa Rao is a best feeling ever
I am a Bengali by birth. I studied in a Punjabi school briefly, and was part of the school choir, which performed in many Sikh occasions, including guru Nanak jayanti. The language was foreign for me, but it was easy to connect to the purity of their songs. Hearing this song, specially the harmonium bit, took me straight back to those times.. it connected to a very raw nerve hidden in me somewhere, which even I had forgotten about.

Can you imagine what an impact this would have created in the days of Cassettes and CD. Promotions and marketing of the music began months in advance each song worth its salt used to be heard and cherished for a life time. Come to think of it there was a whole lot of people involved in the creating marketing and distribution of the music. Alas now compositions are created and they fade away after a while.
