Considering that I turn 60 years old next month and my dad is so far up in years, I am guessing that it will more than likely have to remain just a dream. Rob, I can't tell you how cool it is that you trust Aria to cut the bait. I'm sure you taught her well and giving children an important responsibility, helps them act responsible. I bet she won't cut herself. So many parents shelter their kids these days so everything offends them. I'm glad to see a real parent. I was working with knives while fishing around her age too and since we knew it was important to be careful or we'll get it taken away, we were very responsible and never had an incident.
Robert, I'm so glad I got on the computer and looked back to see if I had missed any of your episodes from the big roll. Turns out I have missed a couple. I could see your daughter being a champion bassmaster in about 10 to 15 years. If not involved in offshore competitions. You've got to be so proud of your kids. You have such a blessed family, may God's Grace shine upon you.

Aria is already an incredible fisherlady and cute as can be! She'll be a heartbreaker for sure! She gets so excited and the comments she makes are hilarious! She will definitely be your fishing buddy for life! The one thing I really love about her is how she's not squeamish at all about digging in and cutting bait and handeling fish. On your halibut video, i was blown away by how she baited her hooks, drop them down to the bottom, than hooked and reeled in that one halibut all by herself while you were busy elsewhere on the boat and nowhere around her!! The only help she needed was actually landing the fish. And she's only six years old!? Amazing!

When I was pre-military, about 13-14 years old I went out past Block Island, R.I. Sound Cod fishing. I caught 3, about 15-20Lbs. and a Sand Shark (dogfish). Mom didn't fish. Dad caught 4 fish, and bro caught 2. A little old lady in the stern of the boat started pulling for all she was worth. Someone else yelled for her and the mate took her pole and brought in a 37Lb cod.
I didn't know you had a cod limit in Alaska. We needed no license to fish in salt-water, and in a commercial fishing tour, we had no cod limit.

Rob' thanks for bringing back the memories. I was stationed at Elmendorf for 3 yrs about 20 years ago. Definitely GODS country. My wife and I now have a handicap child who requires 24 hr care, not complaining. But your videos definitely make me wish I could spend time in the outdoors with him. I'd normally be jealous of watching people live this life,but Rob and family are just so freakin' affable I can't help but be happy for them and the life they have.
