- KIRO 7 Analog sign-off 9AM 6/12/2009. Quick weather report, Judge Judy commercial, a quick "We toldja so" PSA, and poof. Goodbye ghostly reception, hello macroblocking. Gonna miss TV-DXing.

dude, they needed to switch. not just because they wanted to. they needed to expand digital to have a better experience. everyone has HD without analogue. Everyone had 480p or 640p with analogue.
The last time I ever watched KIRO over the air. Their DTV signal has never made it to my antenna!
same ehre m8 digital sucks the D word with a capital D and i got every add on for digital and done nothing but drain my wallet i took as much as i can back to get some of the buckage back i want my analog back listening to it at night the fuzzy staticyness on a regular channel was both enjoyable and relaxing for me especially like channel 13 late at night some ghosting aand that staticy sound i miss it very much.
i have those and they still don't work just wasted buckage m8 the whole digital conversion is one big joke@Radio69.

Based on this video, it was time for a switch.
I remember watching this channel on June 11th, 2009 before the Shutdown. It was sad to hear that this channel got Shutdown on June 12th, 2009 at 9:00 A.M. It was so sad to hear that KIROTV Channel 7 Seattle had to turn off the Analog TV and switch to Digital. But, it was a good thing. No one was using Analog TV anymore. So, it was a good thing that it changed. And, thank you to Rick Van Cise for telling us about the big news on June 12th, 2009 before 9:00 A.M. I am going to miss Analog TV. And, it is almost time for the 14 Year anniversary since Analog TV was shutoff. I will miss this channel and many other channels that had to switch from Analog TV to Digital TV on that hard and emotional day it happened.
I will always remember this channel on Analog TV. Thank you to KIROTV Channel 7 Seattle for the amazing moments before June 12th, 2009. And, thank you to the great moments we have so far after June 12th, 2009.
i still was this was all forced on everyone like all of a sudden no more good food it is all gmo now, bext thing we know we all have to wear clear plastic cloths to be accepted in public

When analog tv shows digital tv channels?

The Analog Signal is being replaced by the Digital Signal to
A. Give airspace to communications for first responders, and
B. Give us more programming and channel options. ( Networks are now able to broadcast more programming through different channels without cramming their broadcast schedule.

ha that doesn't even work my cel phone where i live is way worst than ever and plus when i got badly burned my arm i walked a mile to my neighbors house they called on a lanline for an ambulance i still have scars of that incident this supposed improvement is nothing but bullkarp and i do not have any channels i spent about 2k in every add on you can possibly get for digital this is one big pile of junk i at least got most of my money back im still out 500, with that much money i could have got 2 ps5's and fix the bad tire on my truck but heck no all i had and still do have is black screen, absolutely nothing digital is one big blank joke that is not funny anymore.

Secondly, Say that KIRO 7 does weather and sports in its' newscasts.
Well, now with digital broadcasting, They are able to build an all sports station and/or an all weather station to broadcast sports or weather on 24/7 without cramming up their main station's broadcasting schedule and broadcast it 24/7 on like 7.2 or 7- 2, or 7.3 or 7-3.

what did KING 5 do?
I tried to get as many as I could on the day they were all shut down, but KING 5 was one that I couldn't get. I did email all the other broadcasters I wanted for copies of the shutoff, but all but KABB and KSTW refused (I got KENS from their website).
@@dolari so there is no record of what KING 5 did.
Not that I did, no. Quick look around the net says no, too.
Well that’s a bummer, because KING-TV was Washington’s oldest station
I can tell you what Komo 4 did...I saw theirs live, they were in a middle of a news report they also filmed showing them turning off the analog transmitter and turning on the digital ones.

I prefer analog cause where I live we actually got the signal thanks to digital cant get nothing but black even with all the special box's add-ons antenna's didn't do a frakking thing to get anything I prefer ghosting and staticy sound to just a black screen digital tv just not all that good as they claim it to be.
