The sportster is a different genre then the m8"s like rock and roll and the blues. It is supposed to be more hard core. I have both a 2017 SGS and the 1200 Iron. Love both of them for what they are. I wanted the sportster because it is a sportster and it hasn't disappointed me. I did take the speed (lol) faring off and tilted the mini apes forward a little. It looks old school, the way I like it. My first Harley was a '77 Sportster and my last one will be a 2018 1200 Iron.
It's the second Street Glide that I've owned. It was an 08 and I traded it in on the 2017. It took a little getting use to but after awhile it feels natural. The M8 has so much more power. I can ride the SGS for hours with out getting tired. Love the ride and the looks.
I like the honesty of this review. Comaparing a $10,000 bike to a $17,000 and comapring the OLD Evo with the Modern Milwaulkee Eight was quite unfair. How does it stand up on its own merrits its all that matters.
Yeah, that may have been a bit unfair- but that was the comparison I was looking at for myself because I was going to purchase a new bike. Glad you liked the review though! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the review! I have the 2020 Iron 1200 and feel a little cramped at 5’11” I’m thinking of forwards. What’s your opinion and how tall are you? Thanks!
Im 6 foot and find the mid controls to be just fine. I think some of yous get to lazy with your riding and forget your supposed to riding a bike not laying on one.
I have a 2020 Vulcan S - love it! Thinking about adding a second bike to my stable and a harley is what I want. How do you feel the iron 1200 compares to the Vulcan S? Thing that scares me about the harley is all the complaining from people about vibrations.
R. sAvAgE I love the Iron 883. Felt much better and higher build quality in my opinion that the 1200. Felt like an entirely different bike. I would get the 883 if I was choosing between.
Tiny tank on that bike :-) What bike is one in front of you with the wide ass tire? Not the red bagger but the one in front of him. That one looks pretty bad ass :-D
Thanks! I love your reviews. Not full of the typical Mumbo Jumbo technical Jargon that anyone can look up but the honest to God review about what you like and what you don't. You should get a couple of more guys together and produce a show like Motorweek only for Motorcyles ;-) I am sure people would be watching :-)
That would be cool, but I only have one friend in the are who rides and he's gone for the summer. Need to get my buddies into bikes, or get more friends! LOL
have you tried using DYNA mat in an out of view location to damp engine vibration before.... im told those can help in not just audio related applications.@@MOTOBLADE like put it near the peg mount.
I learned on a street 500 as well! I think the 750 would be the kind of power you're seeking there, but I liked them both (but would get the 750 if I was choosing between them). I just didn't like the Iron 1200 at all... but that's just me.

That's awesome! That fairing on the 1200 looks ridiculous, good riddance. How do you like your SGS? I've always loved that bike.

Johnny Striple That's like my Chief Dark Horse, comfy for hours on end. Glad you like your SGS. Gonna test ride one eventually :)

Which ones better iron 1200 or forty eight special

Yeah I took my fairing off too. Put on forward controls , stage one, Vance and Hines etc.
Great ride very happy......
Nice! Glad to hear from people who have modified this ride to make it better!
Just got mines today hey what forward controls you go with?
Thanks for the review! I have the 2020 Iron 1200 and feel a little cramped at 5’11” I’m thinking of forwards. What’s your opinion and how tall are you? Thanks!
I'm 5'8" and I want forwards! Go for the forwards, will make life much more comfortable. Thanks for watching!

It's worth it!!!
Is it faster than the vulcan s?
I think the Vulcan S has a higher top speed, but I'm not certain.
@@MOTOBLADE thank you for replying good sir i look it up some more
@@ImFAULKn you are very welcome. Wish I could've been more help. Thanks for watching!
Review on 2020 48 sportster
I just got one yesterday
Don Bams congratulations! Ride safe brother, greetings from Germany 💪
Congratulations! Enjoy and ride safe brother!
I have a Kawasaki Ninja 650. Should I trade for 1200

Nice honest review. I'm sure the iron is not for everyone.

Thomas R. Smith That's the Breakout. I loved that bike. Lot of fun and that wide tire was awesome. I've got a review of it on my channel already :)

It looks cool
Travis Dinunzio It does look cool, but it vibrates like hell compared to the 883 in my opinion.

It looks like a street 500 or street 750, just with a bigger motor. Even the mirrors and gauge look exactly the same
Yeah. If I had to choose, I would take the 883 or even the Street series bikes over this one.
MOTOBLADE really? I learned on a street 500 and all i wished it had was more power a little more instantly.

MOTOBLADE sweet! Harley Davidson rider academy in Nashville?
Yup! Graduate of the Bumpus HD Academy!
Who's coming up with the new paint schemes? They look like shit.
I think they look kinda cool. Lots of old school vibes.
Think it'll ride 5000 miles without breaking down? Lol
