Thank you, somebody needed to point out how corny Crypt is. You did a good job of that. I just wanted to also point out that he covered wrap song and replaced the n word with "migga." Just so we're clear on what kind of ignorant mindset that Crypt has. He's one of the top 2-3 most wack youtube rappers (I know that's redundant) I've seen.
You remind me of a character that would exist in the movie Clerks, and I mean that as a compliment. Your videos are great, but when will we learn more about you and your raps? Keep up the amazing work because I can see this channel blowing up in the future.

Rapping about how skilled you are only works if you're really well....skilled. A lot of the best old school rappers did this but they made it entertaining.
I am a fan of Crypt, but this was a very well thought out video, but let me point out some things that you failed to mention. I understand the corniness of Bad Habit, but the reason it was called Bad Habit was because it was a “subtle” diss at Dax because of the beef that was mentioned in Eulogy. I believe it’s the second verse on Bad Habit where he says something like “Just because we made a song together don’t mean that your safe cuz i’ve been taken advantage of by a man that i once called great.” The chorus is a play on Dax’s catchphrase, you can hear this on pretty much any radio interview that he’s ever done “We back at it like a bad habit, if you want something better go grab it and today baby, we finna make a big play.” Okay, I’m done defending a rapper I enjoy, I respect your opinion my guy.
@@harrisbadalandabad6257 that would be a really bad look for someone especially if it blew up. Because people can't think and would just associate them as the racist guy from that song. Not that crypt has a great reputation otherwise lmao.
Funny I found this looking up Crypts new song called bad friend. I think he has talent, and I like dude quite a bit especially with how he puts those RUclipsr cyphers together, and his channel is fun, tho I'm not huge on the music he makes. In fact Duh nuh is really the only song I rock with. Tho bad friend is okay if not a little corny in its delivery. I get exactly where you are coming from. Before I soapbox I'll just say that Crypt seems to have toned down the "I'm saving hip hop" stuff which I credit Scru and Quadeca for. So I think he's moving in the right direction. I'll be honest Hopsin got me into rap around 2013 before that I only really knew Em and Drake. Then I was introduced to Techn9ne and review channels like Needledrop and DEHH and from there my knowledge of rap sky rocketed. It really honestly makes me sad that I see so much gatekeeping from the YT rap community because there is real talent there yet people like Vin Jay and Gawne are out there decrying the degredation of a genre that they probably barely know. Everyone in the comments Like "Finally real talent." And are quick to dismiss literally anyone who is like "wait why are you trying to gatekeep a music genre". go listen to some MF Doom or Outkast or Aesop Rock (You ain't slick btw I caught Drums on the wheel in the background there. Great track) Or even someone like Pusha T if you really wanna hear wordplay and flow. These rappers and these reactors barely know who those people are. It saddens me cause I'll never see them react to like a Doomtree or Sa-Roc or anything like that. Black thought too. Lyrical deep rap is still out there. And the more melodic stuff is wavy and a good time. People like Roddy and Polo G tell real stories they just sing and put on a bit of auto tune to do so. I'm just sick of gatekeeping in general. Expand your listening tastes it does you a world of good. While I agree that you are sort of gatekeeping I get it. It weird me out that I'm a white Canadian nerd who probably has more hip hop knowledge than these "Lyrical VS mumble rapper" guys.
Right that’s my main issues with dudes like Crypt. You can go off and say all the soapboxy ‘I’m saving hop hop’ shit all you want I just feel like you should educate yourself on the genre before you start running around acting like an expert that knows better than everyone else. I gatekeep like a mf but that’s just cause I try to be super honest about my opinions and they ain’t always nice lol. Thanks for watching tho man! Comments like this are why I make these videos, I like the healthy debate just cause these topics interest me but a lot of people don’t take it that way 😂
@@nickmadeavideo Healthy debate is a good thing. Critics are singlehandedly the reason I now love hip hop so I'd never shit on a person for their opinion. I rarely agree with the critics I like. But the healthy debate is exactly what all niches and faucets of the internet need be it music, politics, games, anything. So I appreciate well made videos like this. Keep them coming I say.
Ight so you got a few things I'd change. You should listen to his newer stuff it's a lot better and is no where near as bad, he was in death to mumble rap because gawne pressured him and they are friends and has actually been experimenting with autotune and more mainstream sounds, the kiwis thing was a competition, and if you want to make a case for him still being bad actually show his newer stuff and not his older stuff, also the Godzilla remix being on Spotify is legal I'm pretty sure cause it's a beat he paid for and not the og beat overall not a bad video thought
Nothing to change imo, this is all my opinion my man. I feel like i covered his new stuff a little bit near the end, other than the album he hasn't put out that much new stuff to talk about. And him messing with newer sounds kind of just annoys me more since he was such a white knight for "real hip-hop" then all of a sudden he's gonna start adopting modern structures and shit. Also im pretty positive he's not allowed to upload that Godzilla remix to spotify even if the beat was remade. It'd be the same as me taking a taylor swift song and just re-making it then putting what i want on it, i still jacked her notes/sound and her structure of the song so it's still highly illegal.
@Jackson Gilmore yeah that's not how that works, man. Godzilla is a copyrighted work that belongs to Eminem, and that includes the beat. just because the guy who re-made it on youtube gave him permission doesn't make it legal. ask any rapper who's been doing this longer than 2 years and they'll tell you that's a rookie move.
5:55 I think the point he was trying to make is Dax was being all nice in public but couldn’t do the bare minimum of sending him a text. Like he was trying to look nice and kind to his fans and outsiders but from a friend perspective he didn’t do anything behind the scenes.
While i am a big fan of Crypt,it's so cool to see what other people think about him. This honestly is a really good video, and i like the way you go a little bit into detail as to why you don't like Crypt during the different sections of this video. Keep up the fantastic content!

OGs like Tupac and Biggie or 50 flexed their achievements because they wanted to show the homies in the hood that getting out was possible (as well as the fact that most of them were actually selling drugs/gangbanging) and now it's shifted over to kids talking about money women and drugs without even knowing why they became so ingrained into the scene in the first place...just my take on it
Hey Nick, dope video it really got me thinking! Would it be ok if I sampled some of this video for a track? Also would love a video on that goof Tom MacDonald LOL
I think that crypt can have good bars, flows and rhyme schemes, but I think that a lot of his lines are very generic, and sometimes a little corny. I’m fine with rappers rapping about how good they are and being braggadocios, but you should be able to display that skill with decent wordplay and solid metaphors or something. He has good songs and has potential, but I find him to be incredibly generic with what he has to say.
I like crypt but you are right some of his rhymes are soooo forced...... like when he’s writing he comes up with a rhyme and never second guesses it and he doesn’t spend a lot of time on the wordplay in order To make the syllables fit...instead he will just speed up the last couple words or slow them down depending on if they have more or Less syllables then the line before it
