We have 2 dogs and in my experience it’s way more work than just 1, but they definitely keep each other entertained 😂 and our dogs have separate food and water bowls but that’s because we have a small dog and a giant dog so the bigger one needs her bowls up higher to not strain her neck!
2 dogs is WAY better than one! my two boys are only 6 months apart and have grown up together, they play constantly, love eachother so much, and i can’t imagine our lives without them!
having separate food and water bowls was key for us because it taught them they had their own things and there was no reason to jealous and or aggressive over that stuff.
You guys have no idea how happy I get when you post. My days are so stressful with school and seeing your beautiful family just brightness everything!! I love you guys

I have 2 dogs and I love it! My older dog was 2.5 when I brought home the puppy. They are now 3.5 & 2 and it’s so fun! They definitely are besties. They have their own water bowls, but choose to drink out of the same one at the same time lol 🙃 it is important to have some individual play time with each though, especially when the puppy is still in training because Reu, being the older dog, might get frustrated with a puppy.
I have 2 labs and they have seperate food bowls and they share a water bowl. The water bowl they have is one of those 5 gallon dispensers so we don't have to constatly fill it up. Everytime we refill the water we clean the bowl and jug! I can say that 2 dogs is by far better than 1 because they like to play with each other and become buddies. We had three dogs for about 2 years because we got another dog when our older one was close to passing away and that was definitely harder but it was worth it because it is hard for a dog to go from having a sibiling to not having another dog around. Love y'all!
I had a lab but he passed away in July. He was 14 but I love labs! My neighbor has a chocolate lab and she’s adorable
hi! we have 3 dogs, and we just feed them each in their own crate, and then when they are done they get let out. that way there is no fighting or anything like that. nash is adorable, and your family is as well! god bles!

Also, a 2-dog home here. You can have both dogs sit, wait and then place their bowls in front of them at the same time or If you want, you can place Reu's bowl first, then Nash's quickly after.
This is what we do. Their food bowls are in separate areas but in the same room. Make them sit and then give the ok to eat. If one finishes first and go towards the other they get told no and are removed and monitored. After awhile they will understand. Consistency is key.
We have two dogs. One is 2 years old and the other is almost 6 months. I fed the puppy her food in the crate for the first three months I had her and now she eats from a bowl next to her sister’s bowl. I agree with Josh, you need two water bowls. I also highly recommend the crate bowls that attach to the crate. Also two dogs are definitely easier because they keep each other entertained and are always occupied

Girl! Amazon sells silicone toppers for the pouches so Ri can squeeze as much as she wants and it won’t spill. Makes it so much easier for on the go so you don’t have to worry about mess! A must have!

I have two goldendoodles and they both have their separate food bowls but share the same water bowl. One dog eats at one end of the room and the other dog on the other end so they know it’s their bowl and not to eat from the other dogs bowl

Aw love this for you guys!!! Nash is ADORABLE! 💗 I have 3 dogs and my two labs share their water mainly because it’s the kind that you rarely have to refill because it’s like a jug! But my shih tzu has his own bowl in another room because he’s spoiled and the oldest, he does still drink out of their bowl sometimes!

2 dogs is definitely so much fun! We got our new baby a couple of months ago and there was the same age difference like Rue and Nash. We did separate water and food bowls so they knew they had their own.
As far as Nash wanting to eat Rue’s food it definitely takes time, keeping them separated is a great step. Once our new fur baby was about 4 ish months (when she needed a bigger bowl is how we decided) is when we started letting her eat with her sister. We just redirected her when she was done eating since she ate fast that her sisters bowl was a No No. realistically her getting that down took about a month and a half probably 2. Y’all got this! Definitely just from personal experience I’d wait until he’s a few months older to start letting them eat together and letting him know her bowl is a No No zone. They love eating together but Nash and Rue may be different personalities when it comes to that 😅.

I have a mini golden doodle puppy. She's not mini, she's like 45 pounds and so energetic. I wouldn't change her for the world. She's got more golden hair texture than poodle texture and her hair is a very light blonde! I love her!
I have a black goldendoodle too! Best dog ever. His name is Cole (get it, black and shiney like a lump of coal but spelled like a human Cole). They are super smart. I was really struggling with my mental health and my husband surprised me with Cole. It was exactly what I needed. I am disabled and we are currently in training so he can be my service dog. Cole saved me. I fully believe God puts animals in our life for a reason. Congrats on your new addition! 🐾
im from nashville, & yesss agreed; centennial is one of the parks we use most. a lot of tourists go there to take pictures & to go on picnics.

I have two basset hound puppies, 1 years old and 8 months old. They both share the same food and water. They are literal besties 😂 definitely a lot of work to train both puppies while they are still young but it’s worth it, they entertain each other, best of luck ❤️

My husband and I have 3 dogs and they indeed share their bowls🤣 they each have their own but they just eat/drink out of each other’s🤦🏻♀️ They don’t fight so I just let them. as long as they’re potty trained and everything, having multiple dogs is pretty easy for the most part! They do keep each other entertained!
We have 2 dogs and they are definitely company for each other. We also have 1 automatic feeder and water. Generally they'll eat and drink together unless they are significantly different sizes. Love you guys!

Congratulations on the new addition to the family! Nash is adorable! I have 2 poodle mix pups too and the transition from 1 to 2 was pretty easy! We just made sure to feed them separately and they share a water bowl but it depends on the dog! We got our 2nd with the same reasoning, we wanted our first to have a playmate and now they never stop haha. They also keep each other company when we leave the house. 2 is way better!! Best of luck with the puppy training!
One bowl PER pup, for food and water. Don't nobody wanna share. I have 2 Australian Shepherds and each has a stand with a food and water bowl. Keeps the floor cleaner and the doggos happy!

I have always had multiple dogs for many years, and they have always shared a water bowl. Currently I have a 1 year old Havapoo. I named her Rue after your sweet girl and I also have a 9 month old Yorkichon her name is Molley. On top of my 15 year old Sr puggle Rye. I could talk all day about dogs. LOL. I feel like if you have dogs that are the same breed or have the same energy level it can be really helpful to have two. Trust, they need each other for playing and companionship while you guys are gone. As long as they are on the same schedule, it will not be too much added physical change. Maybe just financial really.
They have special spoons to attach to the baby food pouches to make feeding so much easier!
I love babies, I have 2 golden-doodles, Rico & Reesie! golden-doodles, are truly the best just so much energy cause they are mini lol. Are you guys considering breeding your dogs?

For thw separation anxiety, I suggest giving Nash a blanket or an old sweater with your scent on it. I found that helped with my dog.

As a trainer normally we cringe when we hear people mention golden doodles but I can confidently say you guys are killing the game! The training, proper nutrition and grooming I see makes me so happy that they’re getting the care they deserve. With two dogs it’s very important to establish boundaries for both dogs when it comes to you guys the baby and for them with each other. As a puppy it’s kind of hard to teach Nash a lot of the patient stuff so feeding them in separate rooms is great. I would look into duration training for Nash and relaxation training! This will help you teach Nash patience as well as manners! And when it comes to him doing things that aren’t appropriate you can’t yell at dogs like you said they don’t really understand it so finding a word you can use as a correction word is vital, I use ah-ah. How you would teach this is every time you say good or yes you reward with the tree and anytime you give your correction word you withhold the treat. And lastly my favourite tip is to make a dog sit and wait while you place their food down until they are released this will not only help teach them self control but they won’t risk choking on their food by immediately gobbling it up! Best of luck guys❤
Three labs, same water bowl! The boy always lets the girls have their turn, it’s cute, he’ll wait till their done then he’ll step in and take his drink! As far as feeding, as we brought each puppy home we would just tell them no when they went to the other dogs’ food bowl. Consistency! Now we feed the boy first (because he’s a slow eater), one girl barks her head off while waiting lol the other girl waits patiently staring at us, then we feed the girls when he’s almost done, everyone finishes at the same time and it all works out!
