- Algernon's Fun EP. Unfortunately the audio for the last two songs of the record are cut off for some reason. I don't own this music or image. All rights go to their respective owners, I am a fan who wants to spread awesome music.
Listen to the whole thing on Bandcamp! - behappyrecords...
I saw them and Snowing in 2011. I was in high school in the Midwest and being apart of my emo scene was the only thing keeping me going. Saw a lot of great shit from this era. Rediscovering it now a decade later and remembering all the good times. Record slays forever

Dude, I need those 4 minutes to come to back from that out-of-body experience before I can have it all over again
Holy shit! This is so fucking killer. I haven't heard anything like this since Cap'n Jazz put out their first record. And we all know how genius that album was.
shame you never got to experience them back in the day. This band was really something special.
This takes me back to simple times I can’t believe I dug this album form my high school memorys
this is an important album
Dads: *and I took that personally*
very
been forever since I've listened to this, some good shit.
Just saw them in Seattle and it was really magical
I was at their show in Virginia. My friend and I got there before doors opened and were at the front and center of the venue. I was so happy I got to see them that I thought I was going to cry.
I miss this band, I'M FOOR IIIIT
that track from 6:30 on, oh my. Could rise or fall to these sounds.
Black Clouds is so beautiful
This band is so epic that it stills epic even after they broke up ( u.u ) genios
Unfortunately part of liking this genre is liking bands that are dead and gone. Every good act is basically a done deal.
I hope for Algernon or Snowing to come back due to the popularity of spotify, bandcamp, and patreon allowing artists that have small followings to still make money enough to live. But sometimes it's not about money, you just don't feel the emotions you need to feel for this kind of music. You have to be exploding like a supernova, but it translates so beautifully. You can't survive for long in that atmosphere, so it's often healthier to stop once you've made a couple albums.
But I can still hope one day, even if that hope is very dim.
RyanKaufman Nah man, there’s still tons of good new emo put out today. Ya just gotta look for it.
I've been looking for close to 10 years now man, ever since I first heard Algernon. I found Snowing, that was a good day. And they were dead before I could even say "Wow what a find"
There's Saddest Landscape, I love their "All is Apologized For" album very much but their other albums have a more angry flavor and less nostalgic/emotional. I don't think they intend it to be that way, it's just in the feeling behind it. I still enjoy them but I also find the singer is losing his voice, I have to imagine singing the way he does takes a toll lol. There's Title Fight, but their last two albums I found pretty mediocre. If that's the sound they want, I hope it brings them success but it's really not my tempo. The World is a Beautiful Place is decent but they just don't hit the same highs for me. Execution wise they're spot on but the feeling just isn't the same.
So yes there are still bands playing. I wouldn't say there's "tons of good" but there are still quite a few decent acts. But it's a difference between literally a perfect band for what you want, and just another band like all the rest. And hey, I'm still not tired of listening to Algernon, Snowing, Indian Summer, Saddest Landscape, I can listen to them quite often. My biggest issue, you might have noticed this, I tend to like the intersection of Post-Hardcore and Emo. It just sounds perfect to me. Emotive Hardcore I heard it called once but that sounds pretentious. Screamo tends to be problematic also (though it is how I found Saddest Landscape so go figure).
If you want good tunes, you gotta dig. Just sometimes you're digging for nothing.
RyanKaufman Or, sometimes, ya gotta make it yourself.
I know what you mean though, at first glance I assumed you were some guy who just thought all the good music was made in the past and now nothing is good now. Sorry for that
RyanKaufman Hey also-thanks for introducing me into Snowing
THIS ALBUM MAKES ME FEEL....
Horny
This first song is fucking magic.
lemme tell you what i think about broooooc-coli
Chris Artell im for it!!!
The bass on Black Clouds is so simple yet so fucking groovy
Good stuff
I'M FOR IT
Crucial
Black Clouds all day every day
I've heard this song and assumed it was a Cap N Jazz song I hadn't heard. I like this band because they sound exactly like Cap N Jazz and Cap N Jazz broke up way too soon.
Cap N Jazz sucks. This band is way better.
This is the less depressing capn jazz. But I think they sound similar as well
So did this band :/
Danny Cunniff you suck
@@lihilevy366 how are Cap N Jazz depressing? Ive never heard anyone describe them as depressing, their songs are upbeat, melodic and happy as fuck
The best
This is not the full EP :/
Tom Dabek actually, this is the full EP. The bonus songs are just part of the CD that comes with the 7".
Is there someone who knows where can I download this shit?
piratebay likely. Or you don't know how to work that?
Anyone remember the twinkle daddies fb group? That was a weird one.
