Quick Review - Triumph Speed Twin 1200 - Raw Sound Dual-Mode Valved Exhaust - Read Description

Alright guys today we took a 2024 Speedy 1200 for a quick spin and let me tell you: this thing is addictive! For starters, the dealership installed some valved exhaust on this bike and throughout the video you will (hopefully) see me pressing a black button on the left-hand side to open/close the valves. Now, the audio on the video obviously compresses quite a bit (and the opened position clipped the crap out of my microphone), but in person the jump in volume was huge. Closed, you could barely hear the bike. Perfect for late night/early morning city cruising. Opened and your brain started vibrating along with the engine. But funny enough, without ever becoming too "boomy" inside the helmet. This 1200 Twin from Triumph is a piece of art. At first this engine almost feels like a diesel, since most of its power happens between 2000 and 4000 Rpm, so it kind of leaves you scratching your head as to why the powerband is so narrow. But then you get to experience the huge amount of torque it makes pretty much anywhere in the rev range, and thats it, you are immediately addicted to it. The gearbox works flawlessly and the ratio of the gears suits this bike absolutely perfect. The seating position is slightly on the sportier side, tucking your knees together with a slight forward bend, but never uncomfortable. To my taste the seat feels a bit narrow at where you actually sit on it, but it never got uncomfortable ( i am 1,84m, 85Kg). Now the chassis/suspension was the biggest surprise to me: this bike feels a LOT sportier than what its looks would suggest, it feels serious! After only a couple of corners i felt like taking this bike to a race track. It is so stable and so precise, the steering gives you immediate and an almost "unfiltered" feedback from the road, letting you know at all times what the tires are doing. Even going very deep into the lean angle the bike never felt unstable or unwilling to take a corner. It sure does inspire a lot of confidence. Its as agile as it is stable. When deep into the lean angle and riding over bumps, the suspension can get upset a bit, but it sure stays manageable at all times. All in all, i highly recommend this bike to anyone looking for a sporty ride with distinctive looks and a very different but highly addictive engine character. At the very least i believe you should take one for a test-ride. It might surprise you as much as it surprised me. Thanks for watching! Cheers
