I have 2 TK Star trackers. They were great while the 1 year web site map tracking subscription lasted. When it expired I tried to renew, but couldn't even get a single reply. I sent several emails (email address was also difficult to find) but they apparently aren't interested in supporting their customers once they've got their money. I guess they expect us to fork out for a new unit every year and throw out the old one, cos the web tracking is what makes it of any use.

Hello, the instructions are very helpful. I did all the steps correctly, it showed that it works, but after a few hours it said at the top screen of the app "100% offline battery". Do you know what it means to have a "100% offline battery" if a sim card was normally inserted and the blue light was normally on, at least on the beginning?

Fakat mıknatısın altına 1'er adet yay koydum ve mıknatısları tamamen sıkmadım, sıkmama sebebim 4 adet mıknatısın yuvarlak yüzeylere de yapışabilmesi için hareketli olması. Mıknatısların olduğu kısımda kutunun içine gömülü, dışarı sadece3-4 mm taşıyor... HI. I'm in Manchester and I use an O2 sim card. Its great. You call the tracker unit and within a few seconds it sends back a text message with the tracker location.

Clever way of ripping customers off, yes, eh? The registration of SIM should be free, which means pay for the monthly subscription for running the mobile phone, then pay subscription for the GPS tracker, =? a fortune, I'd say. Too many rip-offs.
Looks utterly useless: When your car just got stolen, you will probably be in a state of panic and shock, mad, depressed and worried to lose your job (as these days employer does not give a fart if you are late due to stolen car). So, how is a normal human being able to press in several commands, wait for OK signs, and then dial numbers and what not.... You need to make a product where you open an APP and press "TRACK" and then you see your car's location on google maps and can pass that info to the cops. All other devices are useless.
Only need to put one command easy to remember. G123456# OR simply dial sim number in both case you will get the location if App is configured properly only need to open app to see the location of your vehicle that has GPS

There is a battery alarm at 30%. Does this alarm to your cell phone or on the gps device itself? Not very useful if it alarms and let's the thief know there is a GPS tracker on your vehicle/bike.

I know i can send SMS to gps device and get SMS response with coordinates, but i was wondering if i can send maybe an HTTP request to device instead of SMS, and communicate over the internet (like TCP). Also, is there any way i can make the device send GPS coordinates to my own server? Quick step for gps tracker if you need.
1-Please insert sim card into trackers and put it on outdoor open space,it is necessary for the first test.
2- Please use you mobile phone make a call to trackers,after hang up, it will reply you a location with google maps link, you can visit that link to get tracker’s location.
3- If you get success in step 2, now you can set APN to active APP

Here is the Quick-use step, sincerely hope it can help you.
1) Please prepare a STANDARD-SIZE sim card that can work on a 2G Network for this GPS tracker.
top-up SMS fee and data fee for it, Make sure you are able to call, text, and surf the internet using this sim card.
We recommend sim cards such as Vodafone, Tesco, EE, 02, Lebara, giffgaff sim cards for European Clients. Please cancel (turn off ) the pin code for the sim card.
2) SMS Tracking ~ please note sets an admin number it does not the first step, you should test the SMS tracking and APP tracking function firstly. it's better if you can take the tracker outdoor to finish the first testing.
after Setting up the sim and insert it into the tracker in the right way, please calling or text a locate command g123456# to the contact number in the tracker. if all good, you will get a location message. that is what we said SMS tracking.
3) APP Tracking ~ If you can receive location messages after calling the tracker, then it means you are now ready to use our App.
2-steps:
(1)open the GPRS service by texting command gprs123456 to GPS tracker
(2)set the right APN to activate APP
(3)please note after setting the right APN, you have to restart the tracker by taking the sim card out and reinsert it, then all working well and you can use other functions on the APP.

Yes. I know i can send SMS to gps device and get SMS response with coordinates, but i was wondering if i can send maybe an HTTP request to device instead of SMS, and communicate over the internet (like TCP).
Also, is there any way i can make the device send GPS coordinates to my own server? I understand it sends coordinates to tkstar server, and i can view them on their website or mobile app, but can i make the device send data to my server?

David Huentemil Firstly make sure that sim card supports GPRS and open GPRS service. secondly you need to set VPN if necessary.
