Great production, well done! You can see the cloud at 03:13 pouring over the mountain top. Sometimes I think "If only we had time lapse while flying..."
Thank you very much for your comment Tim!! Actually, it can be very interesting how external factors can affect your decisions. The day before I went to this area looking for outlanding fields. During the flight, I focused on going to the exact position I took a photo the day before and I lost attention to the wind, clouds etc...If I had been focused in that moment, I think I could see I was entering in the leeward of the mountain. I am thinking about a video explaining the situation and decisions, but you are the best in that kind of video...You have seen the cloud movement and I am sure you can add a lot of value in helping pilots not to do the same mistakes. If you are interested in doing that video, it would be an honor to send you any required information. Even more, I would like to propose doing something like a video together, including your experience, knowledge, teaching capabilities, and my testimony and decisions. I have added the link to the log file in weglide in the description.
@@plazaba ....that would be a nice Idea. I also appreciate Tims Videos very much. That would definitely help people who are starting to fly in the Alps or any mountaineous area understanding the big picture. I only edit some stupid screenshot videos for my products and do tutorials, so I know how much work it is editing videos. You both are really doing a really good job!
Such a great video ! it remembers me, when i was a little kid, following my father in championships in the 80's . All the gliders were taking off from "Aspres sur Buech" near "Gap". In other years we were going to Vinon sur Verdon for World Championship. All were good moments. The road in the night from Le Mans, all the kids of Europe playing together waiting for their fathers and of course quick passage at low altitude, emptying the rest of water on us before landing. Thanks Plazaba, you just wake up all those memories.🤩
Great video, I was in a similar place in May, wheel down and in circuit to land at St Crepin, managing to slide up the mountain and eventually return to Sisteron via Parcours. The importance of good training such as at St Auban and sticking to your boundaries cannot be over emphasised.
at 3:10 you are definitely flying to the lee-side of the mountain. You can check the moving of the cloud shadows. The -5m could in this case be expected in NW winds.
Thanks for your comment!! I agree with you. It is much easier to see when you have the time-lapse of the cloud, but in any case, I should see it before...No being 100% focused can conclude in this type of situation...
Did I enjoy your video ? You bet - fantastic. Great graphics (love the instruments and your narration). It was helpful to have those major peaks identified (part of the challenge for someone less familiar with the region is to learn those key peaks before the Parcour). Great video ! Thanks.
WOW! Great video of an exciting flight! Nice editing and very good illustration through the visible instruments. Been in the Alps some times and I always respected the challenges and dangers there. Enjoyed watching it. Happy landings.
That's a great video and really good to see some of the mountains I passed when I flew from St Crepin out over the Ubaye valley and past similar areas down to Dignes and back - my first time flying in the alps. I recall my instructor (Philippe from the FFVP, saying the Parcour was a really reliable lift source. Very informative video.
@@plazaba Fair enough, thanks! I just wanted to comment. From the few other comments I saw, I'm probably in the minority so maybe you shouldn't worry too much about it :D
Thanks for your comment. I use a suction cap with short stick and 360° camera. Editing is very slow and take a lot of time, but in my opinion, after seen all the comments the result worth it.
Great video! May you give a link to the igc-data, on olc or weglide? I hope we see us at onetime, oneplace, under the best cloud, in the best gliderarea in the world! EW from Sisteron
good editing ! if you want your next challenge there, try the Parcour Royale: ruclips.net/video/WhMjGSwjtHo/видео.html And there is no Bayale, its Blayeul.
Thank you very much for your comment. I did Parcour Royale some days before this flight, but I was very high all the way without any issues. The glaciers over there are awesome. Very nice video, thanks for sharing!!

To a paraglider pilot, being that low and deep in the mountains is kind of terrifying. I follow roads.
Interesting point of view!! Thanks for comment

I do not like the speed-up of the action, it destroys the beauty of soaring. However I notice that a lot of others do enjoy this kind of editing.
Agreed! Cut the music as well-
