Haha you talk about wanting Taker to rush into the ring but as he said himself, when he knew the match was a big turd he intentionally dragged out the entrance to at least give people something for their money
Kevin Nash in a shoot interview once said, when Shawn took to the lectern at the WM XI press conference, he took note of Shawn's speech and knew that Shawn would try to professionally upstage him, outshine him and make him look bad. It was all in a bid to elevate himself. It's quite evident within their match: "look at how good I am, compared to the #1 guy". Kevin said that he didn't blame Shawn as he said that he'd have done the same thing himself. Looking back, you can see it on Kev's face. I wrote this comment before it was acknowledged in the review and im stcicking with it, damn it.
For such a tough looking guy, Nash sounds really soft here. Nothing wrong with a competitive edge in business but considering these guys were/are lifelong friends, I’m amazed he’s ok with Shawn making him look like an incompetent idiot that can’t hang with him. The likes of a Daniel Bryan or a Bret Hart wouldn’t pull that in my opinion - they would take the lesser wrestler and try to make them look better.
@@rpprt3 Counterpoint: Nash managed to do just enough in WWF to get big fucking bucks at WCW. He gave just enough of a fuck to be set, financially speaking. Can't hate the hustle, even if he could have done much more in the ring post 1997.
On the one hand I can empathize with Shawn because he probably felt like he wasn’t being rewarded for his efforts. It took Shawn longer than it should have to make him world champion so maybe he felt like he had to really lay it on thick how valuable he was for Vince to understand.

"He got him back in the ring by karate posing." Jarrett remembers Chuck Norris at Survivor Series. Also, it just goes to show how shitty the roster was that you had Tatanka, Kama, Volkoff, IRS, Men on a Mission, Bob Holly, Doink, Adam Bomb, the Heavenly Bodies, and Aldo Montoya on the roster and none of them were given a match on this show. 1:53:04 This was not taped beforehand. The previous week's Raws and Sunday Night Slam were taped on March 13 from Stockton, CA. This Raw was live from Poughkeepsie, New York, and taped the following weeks' shows. I don't know what source told you this was taped before Mania, but they need to be slapped upside the head. 2:05:21 Around here, there used to be an RV salesman named Tom Raper and his commercials were all over local television, so I guess it's a legit name. Tom Raper died about five years ago, possibly of STDs from all that raping, no one is really sure.
Great show. Also, huge shout-out for mentioning the RWC final. It also leaves me sad because 1995 is the year I started getting into WWF. Survivor Series 1995 being my first PPV. Also, 1996... don’t shit on my childhood you knackers 😂😰
Great episode as always guys! Small correction, though: The RAW the night after WrestleMania XI was NOT taped on March 13. March 13 was a RAW taping from Stockton, CA (not Poughkeepsie, NY) but those were for the RAWs leading up to WrestleMania XI. The 4/3/1995 RAW from the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie was indeed live, plus they taped a couple future RAWs as well.
Trust me brahs, with how Zachery Ty Bryan (The guy who played the older brother to Jonathan Taylor Thomas' character on "Home Improvement") came up in the news recently, it's maybe best in hindsight they got Jonathan. Plus, come on, WWE GOT SIMBA!
The WWF sold a box set of WMs 1-13 on VHS around the time of 14. This WM had weird splicey-splicey of Roddy Piper "hosting" it whenever the audio crapped out. Fantastic episode for one of the most unmemorable WMs, guys:)
LOVE this, that ending with Mick was awesome, maybe not the best arch but you lads as always make this wicked enjoyable to watch, can't wait for the next arch!!!
V1 is right. Episode 9, from all accounts, is shit. But I think Episode 8 was more hated. And they knew they couldn't just walk in with more of the same. Now, the answer was to have more creative control, like writing the trilogy BEFORE you start filming. But they tried to fix what Rian "Saboteur" Johnson wrought, even if they failed, and actually made it worse in the process. :D
I'm guessing V1 isn't aware of 90 percent of JJ Abrams works having disappointing endings and especially with the modern trilogy not having a plan from the start didn't help either.
Episode 9 is like Justice League. They're the results of studios fearing a fanbase so much, it destroys storytelling. Compared to their previous films, they're both inconsistent in terms of their tones and they're so desperate to be liked after the criticisms of said previous films.
After seeing that Lucha Underground splicey, I really hope you guys do one or two episodes about it. I know it hasn't that much bollocks, but that show deserves to be shown a much as possible.
Thanks for the cracking Christmas Gift Lads! Needed this after this shit stain of a year comes to a merciful end. Merry Christmas and a happy new year. Cheers fellas 🍻
I’m actually gonna miss the New Generation era! Nice mix of quality workers (and some of the worst gimmicks in living memory) struggling up against awful booking decisions. But one shining light from these reviews for me that I didn’t appreciate before - Bull Nakano is different class. I didn’t appreciate her work as much as I should before but I’m definitely a fan now. Quality.
No wonder Shawn's back was fucked, he took an ugly bump on the last Power Bomb. I got fond memories of this PPV and having a blast watching this with my cousins
i love letting autoplay choose my next episode because i just saw Billy Gunn as Cute Kip James, then Rockabilly, and now as the Smoking Guns and it feels like i went through a "mini Billy Gunn" OSW arc

There's an arc right there. Lex as the heel champ in WCW 91. But the problem is its extremely short. 1. GAB 91 2. HALLOWEEN HAVOC 91 (w/ Infamous Chamber of Horrors match) 3 Starrcade 91 4. Super Brawl II
52:58 ...Vince couldn't even remember what a Russian Leg Sweep is? Like, my memory for move names isn't great so normally I wouldn't get on his case but he must have seen Bret do it about fifty times by this point.
Great episode guys. One thing though - absolutely ZERO chance the post-RAW was taped before Mania. MAYBE some of the matches might’ve been (though I doubt that too) but undoubtedly the Diesel/Shawn promos and show-closing angle were shot LIVE on 4/4. Great work though, thanks for this episode!

2:05:21 Around here, there used to be an RV salesman named Tom Raper and his commercials were all over local television, so I guess it's a legit name. Tom Raper died about five years ago, possibly of STDs from all that raping, no one is really sure.
This was the first wrestling vhs I ever bought back in like 1999. Have no idea why i scooped this one. You guys crush. Getting me through the workday
Tim Allen would've been a great choice, the locker room sure wouldn't have.....turned up their nose.....if he was invited.
I mean they might've been afraid he'd snitch on 'em.
I personally felt so good when you said this arc is over, cannot wait for the next one!!
Nothing to do with the vid, but R.I.P. Jonathan Huber
Some call these men the greatest entertainers on earth....
....you mean themselve didnt you? 🤣😉
@@DasKame Pardon?
I hope they do TNA for the next arc.
They did dum dum
@@walterpetersen776 I know. I want them to do another one dum dum
The boys talking about Rugby > Wrestlemania 11
Trust me brahs, with how Zachery Ty Bryan (The guy who played the older brother to Jonathan Taylor Thomas' character on "Home Improvement") came up in the news recently, it's maybe best in hindsight they got Jonathan. Plus, come on, WWE GOT SIMBA!
Its rough reading about it... he seemed like he was doing really well after all these years but not now.
Out of the 3 child across Johnathan the only one to have no prison time
@@petesmart1983 Wait, the other brother (what his name?), he got locked up as well?
Worst WM ever. This show was way better than the event they reviewed LOL
If you thought WM11 was bad, wait 'til they do the real-time trainwreck in South Philly that was King of The Ring '95.
@@JoseTwitterFan they’re doing a new arc after this.
where do u get there merch?
Really popped for OOC immediately correcting V1 from "Package" to "packeege". He no-sold, but that did it for me.
Fucking love the boys, keep up the incredible work
Thanks for this year lads, stay safe, think we are going to need you more in 2021.
One of the best lines in osw history.
OOC: Every twat had one of those bags
V1: I had one of those bags.
OOC: I rest my case
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Holy shite mates. Thank you so much.
Holy shit, FOUR GODDAMN STARS for that main event?
Tuna Meltzer is a huge JTT mark
Merry Christmas and love seeing you guys keep it going!!!
"You think you're special" is so over! More please!
Bundy vs Bigelow at 1:46:01 - fantastic match
Haha. Stephanie Wiand: Tarkatan Warrior.... I had a good laugh. Thanks
That Nakano/Blayze music video at the end was tremendous
The Mania X7 video between two boys will never not be funny
The WWF sold a box set of WMs 1-13 on VHS around the time of 14. This WM had weird splicey-splicey of Roddy Piper "hosting" it whenever the audio crapped out.
Fantastic episode for one of the most unmemorable WMs, guys:)
Best pun of the show by Jay? "Make a mountain out of MO-hill"
I expected “wahat’a say” to be splicey spliced with RVD’s theme.
Thanks again to the OSW boys for letting a big mark contribute! Cans of coke for everybody!
love your work man! for a second i was like "wait... this purowave's style..."
LOVE this, that ending with Mick was awesome, maybe not the best arch but you lads as always make this wicked enjoyable to watch, can't wait for the next arch!!!
Low-key mad that V1 defended Episode 9 of Star Wars for one sentence
It makes sense to me, episode 8 was bat crap crazy. Episode 8 needed like an hour and a half to just sort that out.
Man I miss watching your reviews! Great job guys! I love this channel
in hindsight...yeah LT vs Bam Bam was the best match on the card lol
Thanks for the cracking Christmas Gift Lads! Needed this after this shit stain of a year comes to a merciful end. Merry Christmas and a happy new year. Cheers fellas 🍻
The subway guy at the end was an unexpected joy
I’m actually gonna miss the New Generation era! Nice mix of quality workers (and some of the worst gimmicks in living memory) struggling up against awful booking decisions. But one shining light from these reviews for me that I didn’t appreciate before - Bull Nakano is different class. I didn’t appreciate her work as much as I should before but I’m definitely a fan now. Quality.
No wonder Shawn's back was fucked, he took an ugly bump on the last Power Bomb. I got fond memories of this PPV and having a blast watching this with my cousins
Jonathan Taylor Thomas was a huge star in my memory. Pamela Anderson was also on Home Improvement.
i love letting autoplay choose my next episode because i just saw Billy Gunn as Cute Kip James, then Rockabilly, and now as the Smoking Guns and it feels like i went through a "mini Billy Gunn" OSW arc
This makes me sad ending this arc. What can we do to get you kicking and screaming back to the New Gen for one more pay per view? KING OF THE RING 95!!! I feel since we have put over Mo so much this arc that it is only proper to leave this arc with Sir Mo!
How about 90s WCW for the next storyline. I'd love to see the lethal lottery starcade 91 reviewed.
There's an arc right there. Lex as the heel champ in WCW 91. But the problem is its extremely short.
1. GAB 91
2. HALLOWEEN HAVOC 91 (w/ Infamous Chamber of Horrors match)
3 Starrcade 91
Jonathon Taylor Thomas was a huge teen heart throb in the USA for awhile there, for whatever reason.
14:18, first time seeing Lesnar dancing, I saw it before I think but still surprised 😂😂
