I just finished watchiing all of SAO in the past 2 or 3 weeks and WOW. The first season is ok, not the best but it just kept getting better with season 2, the movie Ordinal Scale, but then when Season 3 happened it got REALLY good and WoU blew me away. WOW. I'm sad though, is WoU the end of SAO in terms of the books or is there more?
Kinda the story has a lot of issues despite being decent. The author decided to do a soft reboot. In the form of movies. So i think one is out already.
Yes there's more in light novels (books). Anime covers most of first 18 books and there are 23 books in English (2 moon cradle (what happened during 200 year at the end of alicization), 1 side story complication and 2 Unital Ring (new big story arc like alicization) and 26 or so in Japanese. There's also progressive series that shows how Kirito and Asuna travelled through each floor of Aincrad, there are 7 or 8 books of progressive and they're on 6th or 7th floor. There are also tons of side stories, that are mostly fan translated and spread in internet.
