Devblog say 4M armor pack cost the chassis its amphibious cabability. Is it still amphibious with the pack dismounted?

there is not a lot of difference, the only difference is the engine adding 50 more HP and the additional Armor package
shame that its a premium vehicle

BMD-4M irl is just standardization with the BMP-3 parts, switched out engines.
