Hands down the most gut wrenching performance I have ever seen. In my mind I see this as a mercy act for a terminally ill person. To hear it come from this angelic young woman always rips my heart apart.
Yes! This is what the song is about. It's based on a man killing his wife because one of them had a terminal illness.
I've probably heard this hundreds of times now and I still tear up about half of the time I listen.

Aurora is special. Her songs are her soul bleeding out. There is no filter.
Moths not butterflies adorn Aurora's dress and her hair clasp. In the official video for this song, Aurora performs with moths on her body. I am not aware of any other artist who can consistently write such achingly beautiful songs ("It Happened Quiet", (abuse in a relationship) "Lucky" (contemplating suicide), "Winter Bird", (being disconnected from life) "The River" (male suicide statistics), "Little Boy In The Grass" (the Utoya massacre in Norway)) on dark and difficult topics as Aurora does. Her many talents are thoroughly amazing, she also has a brilliant, quirky personality and a wicked, dry sense of humour.
As she would tell you, it's a moth in her hair (and on her dress), and not a butterfly. She collects them, but only if they are already dead. In fact, the cover of her 2nd album, she dresses up like a moth. She thinks moths get a bad rap, just because they're not as pretty as butterflies and she likes them.😮

AURORA is pretty intense uh? Also she is wearing a moth not a butterfly . Easy mistake to make , but she's partial to moths . Which I think is cool . As for song suggestions , AURORA doesn't have a bad song . But I think she's at her best live and that's saying a lot because her MV's are pure art . Enjoy the ride !
If you want to see Aurora at her most angelic, you have to see "Through the Eyes of a Child" Live at Nidarosdomen (2017). That whole concert is great...as is her impromptu live concert in the woods at Haik in 2019...I would recommend the song "The Seed" from that concert for a reaction. Also, the official video for "Running with the Wolves" is an Aurora must. So much great stuff from her...she is pure creativity.

This song hold a special room in my heart and it is one of the oldest song by her for me. she always suprise me you will never know what she is doing next. Great reaction! The vibes I got from this song were more of the “Robert Latimer” case here in Canada from 1993. He murdered his disabled daughter because she was living in constant pain. Very sad story.

This is very much about a mercy k*lling. Whether it's done out of love or some twisted form of obsession is up to the listener to decide. I think it's a story about love, where maybe one person is terminally ill, and the other ends their suffering out of love.

LOVE your reactions! Are your live streams recorded and available here on RUclips? This is the second “cut from the live stream” I have watched, but can’t find the entire live stream to watch it
I read the lyrics just as she says them, it's plain murder. The murderer is justifying the act to himself. We have had two cases in Norway this year were a father has shot his whole family, I think those fathers were probably justifying the act for themselves.
