I remember going downtown Santa Cruz before the big earthquake. It had a nice hippie feel to it. But sadly the hippies are gone and have been replaced by homeless dug addicts who are somewhat violent

Santa cruz in some ways still quiet compared from the early 90's altough with some new modern buildings. Did not see the Catalyst .
